Entrance exam (2)

After getting on the train and finding some seats, I started to explain the first exam which was going to be a cooperative exam. The candidates can either choose to team up with each other or go solo. However, the judges will give extra points to the ones who team up, based on their teamwork, stability of the team, cooperation, and the team leader's commanding ability. I wasn't trying to hide my strength, or in this case, my speed and showcase almost all my abilities if possible. I am not some idiotic protagonist who hides their strength alright. I am the antagonist here, don't blame me.

"Won't the teachers explain the rules?" Sylvia asked.

"Good question," I said pointing at her. "No, they will just drop us in an orange zone. They won't interfere with us, no matter what happens."

"So, there are no rules?" She asked.

"No, not a single one," I replied. "Nine years ago they decided to change the entire system of the Entrance exam. As long as you don't kill someone, you are free to do whatever you wish to do."

"What happens when we kill someone, young master?" John asked, making the others around him glance at his face.

"You will get sent to prison. Even if you are from the Five Major Families, you will get sentenced to a year in jail. However, although there have been some acquisitions made by some of the family members of the dead candidates, the Five Major Families were always found to be innocent. In my opinion, they have covered up their misdeeds with their position." I said as quietly as I could to avoid causing trouble on the train.

The Five Major Families will marry their siblings and relatives to keep their bloodlines intact, they will have numerous concubines to produce the perfect heirs and have them battle each other to the death for the succession of the Family head position. They are completely messed up.

The Flash Family was unlike any of the Five Major Families. We know how to love each other, and that love makes us stronger. There is also another reason, it's because the more Speedsters there are, the weaker we will be. Our power comes from the same source. The more people use it, the lesser the supply will be.

"That aside, we can form a team of two to ten. So, you guys don't have a problem with me being the team leader, do you?" I asked and both of them shook their heads.

"How did you know all this? The Paragon keeps that information secret." Sylvia asked, doubting me for a second.

"There are always some loudmouths who just get promoted from the academy," I replied.

"I see."

"A women's intution is the best counter for your intelligence. You should be careful of her." Ryuk warned me.

'I know. I don't trust anyone other than my family, not even myself. The last time I wanted to trust someone, it turned out that he destroyed the world in his timeline.' I looked out the window.

"You should have given him a chance to explain himself. He is the same as you. He won't do something to hurt his family." Ryuk sighed.

'I will give him a chance... After I make sure that I can kill him.' I replied with an expressionless face, knowing that this was a serious conversation.

"..." Ryuk was quiet through the whole journey after that.

"How long would it take for us to reach Paragon, young master?" John asked, getting tired of waiting for so long.

"Since they are just going to drop us off from the train, I would say ten," I answered.

"Ten minutes?"

WHINE RATTLE

"Five..."

"You meant ten seconds?!"

Ahhhhhh

The screams of several candidates falling from the train reached our ears.

"Wally, activate my suit," I ordered as Wally started to shift himself, turning into millions of small nanobots and covering my entire body. "Active flight mode as soon as we are about to drop."

As the floor beneath our feet started to open up, I grabbed John and jumped down. Wally activated the flight mode, just when we were about to land to break our fall.

The other candidates who were unable to fly, fell on the ground without any protection, not expecting the sudden drop. However, none of them received the pain that they were expecting. Due to a kind soul being present there. Although none of them knew who saved them, they thanked that person from the bottom of their hearts.

"I wasn't expecting you to help them," Sylvia looked at me as if seeing me in a new light.

"I may hate kids but I am not heartless enough to let them fall like that when I can help them," I reminded her.

If I wanted her to join me, I needed to change her opinions on me. She might think of me as her friend because of her innocence but she isn't stupid. Manipulating someone intelligent takes a lot of time and patience.

"You could also use your charms to make her fall in love with you." Ryuk laughed.

'That's not a bad idea.' I replied.

"Huh... Wait-what I wasn't serious... Don't tell me that you are serious..." Ryuk coughed.

'I am serious. She is not even a main character, so the timeline won't be affected if she falls in love with me,' I was dead serious. 'Thanks for the idea, Ryuk.'

"..." Ryuk was out of words, he thought that I would get embarrassed by such an idea. He surely didn't expect such an answer. 'Is he serious?'

I have never been in a relationship in my last life but I can learn. After all, that is my speciality.
