Don't kill the weasel! (2)

Many snakes and agile sea beasts that used the Negative Speed Force lived in the deep sea of the yellow region. They were divided into many ranks in the third division of their army. A whole division of speedsters that could wipe out a city of humans in a second. If they had worked together, that is... Their leader had told them that the higher one's contribution, the higher position they would have, which was his biggest mistake. It not only brought chaos to the army but also caused a civil war, resulting in the deaths of many speedsters. However, not all of them were wiped out... There was one survivor, their captain.

He was hiding on the shore and making himself look like a regular mutated snake, waiting for an opportunity to kill his target. He had never seen a speedster with silver-coloured lightning.

So, he did what any assassin would do in this situation. He snuck up on his prey and launched himself at it while opening his mouth to swallow him whole.

"DUCK!" Ryuk shouted at me.

I quickly ducked down and launched myself away from whoever was attacking me.

"What the fuck?!" I screamed, looking at the snake as tall as a 4ft building. It had reddish brown reptilian scales, and one of his eyes was missing. It looked menacing.

"There was a Speedster that was hiding on the shore?" I asked myself. The only weakness that a Speed Force user has is Negative Speed Force users. Speedsters that rely on the Speed Force can't feel the energy of the Negative Speed Force, which gives them the upper hand during sneak attacks. However, that doesn't mean they have the upper hand in combat. The one with better skills and abilities will always win the race.

From now on, the battle was in my favour. My 'Instinct' showed me every possibility that could happen in this battle, and with Speed Thinking, I saw through them in an instant. However, that didn't guarantee my win because there was a gap in our abilities. That snake was a Negative Speed Force user for God knows how long! And I just became a speedster three days ago.

I had no chance against him in a head-on battle. So, I had only one way to face him a race. I could win if I challenged him in a Death race.

"I like that you are being calculative, but don't try to do something crazy. Remember that you are in his domain. He knows this place better than you do." Ryuk gave me a warning.

"I know, which is why he will underestimate me, not knowing that I have prepared contingencies for his whole army," I said.

"You are truly evil, you know that?" Ryuk asked.

"Authors like me have great adaptability," I replied.

The snake hissed at me, thinking that I was scared. So, I made my arms tremble a little to confirm its suspicion.

"Come get some, you bitch!" I ran off.

I ran away from it to make it seem like I was challenging it to a race. It understood my actions and started chasing after me as well.

Our speed was slowly increasing as we went on. I jumped on the crabs at the back of their army while placing miniature bombs with a 1-second timer. The snake was not able to notice my actions because he was concentrating on the race. However, when he heard the exploding noises accompanied by the slowed screams of his comrades, he realized what I had done. Overcome by rage, it sped up.

That snake was fast... but I was faster.

I slipped through the two coconut trees that were stuck together and held onto one of them, changing my direction towards the snake. The snake opened its mouth, thinking that it could devour me.

I slightly changed my direction towards the right and threw two more miniature bombs at it, but it was quick on the uptake. It closed its mouth before the bombs could go in and slapped them away with its tail towards the mercenaries, causing heavy casualties on our side.

"Shit!"

The situation was not looking good. Although I was faster and smarter than it, the snake had more strength and durability than me. If I placed the bombs on its body, it would do almost no damage.

But... What if I placed all those bombs on a single spot on his body? Wouldn't he get slower than me? I could use that time to capture its leader. The bullets I shot towards the seagulls would hit them in a second or two. If I use these distractions to my advantage, I could win the battle.

I smiled while looking at the weasel. The snake was confused. It thought that there was enough time for it to kill me and save its leader at the same time, but it was wrong. It had to make a choice. And between me and his leader, it chose his leader without even blinking an eye.

It rushed towards its leader as if his life depended on it. It slithered towards his leader without noticing the destruction that it was causing. This time, I ran after it.

As it jumped in front of the bullets, I threw a bomb at it with all the velocity I had built up. That was the last bomb that Wally had stored.

The bomb exploded, ending the race with it. The snake was split in half. (If you guys want me to add some blood effects, tell me in the comments.)

"Is it dead?" I asked.

"Yeah, he is dead," said Ryuk.

Growl~~

"Phew... I am so hungry..." I fell to the ground but quickly got up again.

"The race might be over, but the battle is still on," Ryuk exclaimed.

"What battle?" I asked, pointing at the weasel.

In the sky, there was a spider-shaped flying robot holding an unconscious weasel. There were no trace of any seagulls.

"What the..." Ryuk was speechless.

"When I threw that bomb with my right hand, you were so concentrated on it that you forgot to notice my left hand." I said. "All that marksmanship practice finally paid off."

'This kid... I don't know what to say... the battle was already over before it began. His intelligence... his acting... combined with the power he has... I might have created a monster...' Ryuk thought to himself.
