Chapter 2 Where Am I? Who Are You?

I must have passed out because it was dark where I was.Then,I start to hear voices.“Yuu!What were you thinking when you left using the transporter and bringing that girl here?!Have you lost your marbles?!”A soft but serious feminine voice bellowed.”She needs to be here where she belongs,” A familiar voice answered in the same tone.”You’re a fool!You only saying this because she look like h-“”Enough!”

I began to open my eyes to the noise.I could see three people in a room.The room was like a old church. It had a statue of a girl with a dress chained up and the glass to the windows look broken.It was sad to see this was the place the guy brought me to.”Where am I?”I asked.The three look at me.The one who saved me I think is Yuu.He pick me up from the floor and smiled,”Good evening,my love.””Love?!Yuu!”One out of the three was a woman who looks no more than 23 years old.”She is,Tsuyoshi,” he said with a warm smile.I was fully awake at this statement.”Wait a minute!I’m sorry but I have no idea what he is talking about.””I’m hurt,so you mean our kiss was no idea?”he said playfully.”You kissed me!””It takes two to kiss though!””You kissed Yuu-sama?!”Suddenly there was an ominous feeling in the room.It was coming from the last of three who was a man with flaming red hair and green apple eyes,”Enough of this banter!Young maiden, tell us your name?””My name…It’s Hikaru Haruno,sir.”Everyone stared at me in shock of my name except Yuu.”See?””She could be the one from long ago,the one who would come back and save us,”the man said in a hopeful tone.”Can’t be?!”Tsuyoshi cried.”What is everyone talking?What war?Who is supposed to save you?”Yuu just smile the same smile he gave me when we first met not to long ago,”You,Hikaru.””Me?I’m just a high school student and older sister to my little siblings.I do not know about any war or anything.””See?She is not the great savior,High Priest Garuda.Prince Yuu must be delusional,”she said to the man.He is a prince?!Even with her doubting Yuu, he still look at me with such loving eyes before saying,”High Priest,she is the one.”The man sighs and run his hands through his hair.”Why do you believe in me so much,”I ask him,”You must be mistaking me for someone else.”Yuu didn’t falter in his reason,”Hikaru,I believe in you because long ago you protect me.”My eyes opened in shock,”I just met you today.””Then again it was a long time ago.You were just a child.””Yuu-sama since you seem to know this fair maiden,you will take care of her and show around the kingdom.”

“Kingdom?Where am I?Isn’t this Tokyo?”I asked as they gave me a quizzical look.”What’s a Tokyo?Is that where you from?”Garuda asks me.I nodded slowly as he shook his head.”Young maiden,this is Ōrora no machi.But it has been reduced to Yami no toshi.”Garuda and Yuu took me outside to see what they meant. The city of auroras was reduced to darkness. There was no auroras in the sky.All I saw was dark clouds and black sky.People could barely see each other if it wasn’t for the tall bright lanterns they made.”This is horrible,”I voiced my opinon.”Yes, it is.This world was like this because of a new ruler,”Garuda said sadly.

Suddenly, we heard screams within the kingdom.There was a small child running towards with blood on her hands.”They…have..big sister,Yuu-sama.”she said between sniffles.”Your big sister was taken?By who?”Yuu asked.”The big bad man.”Yuu went inside the church and got a sword from under the seat next to the back of the church.He was going to fight whoever had her sister.’I couldn’t let him go by himself to fight the guy.Wait!Why couldn’t I?Well, he did save me once and I have to do the same for him,’I decided.”Let me come with you,Yuu,”I stop him.He had a serious look that I had never seen before.It was a look of a prince protecting something.His look didn’t change when I told him I was going with him.”You may get hurt or worse if you come with me,”Yuu tried to steer me away from going.I smiled,”I’m sorry.Maybe it’s because I have little sisters of my own and I don’t want her to not see her again.I’m going.”Yuu smile slightly,”Just like when you were a child.””Huh?”

Yuu got down on one knee and pat the girl’s head,”We’ll get your sister back.”The small girl smile happily and bow before he stop her,”Really?Thank you so much,Yuu-sama.”

Yuu whistled as we waited for something to come.All I know two seconds later I was tackled by a huge wolf.It got on top of me then licked my face.”Huh?””He likes you,”Yuu said as the wolf got off of me.It crouched low and bark at me.The wolf had beautiful white fur.Its eyes was as colorful as the rainbow.It change color like every few seconds.Somehow I remember this wolf but was it smaller?”Daisuke, knock it off,”Yuu commanded as the wolf then got serious and affirmatively bark.”Let’s go,”Yuu said as he pick me up and got on the wolf’s back.”Yuu don’t just pick me up like that,“I blushed bright red.All Yuu did was chuckled before looking seriously towards the route to the girls’ house.

There was debris from broken carts and laterns thrown to the ground when we arrived at the sisters’ home.Their home was on the edge of town based on all the absence of villagers.We got off of Daisuke and went inside to see if the big sister was still there.The house was torn up.Clothes were disarrayed and chairs on the ground.There was a picture of a family I assume was theirs.The sisters were dressed in bright yellow dresses with floral hem in the bottom.Their eyes was a pretty shade of blue.There was also a older woman who was dressed in a bright yellow dress like the daughters.The mother look so beautiful.Her eyes was a darker shade of blue unlike her daughters.One thing was common was their long brown hair that flow down to their backs.It reminds me of my family.It made me miss them even more.”They look happy,”Yuu said over my shoulder.”They do. Why would someone attack and destroy their home where they share such precious memories…” He sighs for the first, ”The new emperor has been terriorizing our world for twenty years based on your worlds time.He came a thousand years ago but in your world that would be ten years ago.The emperor brought monsters and henchmen and force the villagers out of their home.Wait do you hear something?”I could hear faint choking and a soft ”Help” from the room beside me.”In here!”I immediately to open the door closest and saw the teenager getting choked by something.It was black and swiggly.It turned around and dropped the girl.All I saw was a mask.Then the creature let out a blood screeching cry.The girl quickly ran over behind me as she was finally free from its grasp.She was panting heavily and choking.The creature then slowly tried to grab us.I grab her hand and ran out of there, ”Don’t touch it!It will kill you!””Glad you’re safe.Your little sister is worried about you.Go to her now!”She ran ahead of me as I turn around to face the creature.”You need a beating, you monster!”I said as I got in my fighting stance.It was my left hand low to my foot my upper body crouch with my other hand pointing to the air.It stay where it was though its body was moving all different directions.”Gi..ve me..the..power..yyjou..ppossess..nowarg.,” it spoke incoherently.I don’t know if I heard it correctly.I didn’t have any powers.It was like something of a fantasy manga.Then again a giant dog attacked and I was transported to this world by an aurora.”Gi..ve..me..the..POWER!!”It roared as it charged at me.I twist my body to hit the mask since it looked like the only thing I could hit, but it grab my wrist instead.The grip he had on me was hard and tight.I couldn’t move a muscle in my left wrist.”She did say I couldn’t touch you and I did the exact opposite,”I facepalmed my face as it roared in my ear.It was loud blood screeching.I felt like my ears were going to fall off. Then they started to ringed and I heard glasses breaking instantly.

Suddenly I thought of Yuu saving me the first time. I shook my head quickly, ‘Why am I thinking of him at a time like this?!I have to get out of its grip. I can’t die. Not like this.’

But something I never forget happen. For a split second, I felt something in me change as my captured wrist glow brightly. As the monster grip my wrist, it then groan in pain as it let me go. I quickly got my distance from him as I caught my breath. ‘What did I do?’Then, Yuu show up with his sword,”Hikaru! Are you okay?””I’m fine, no need to get so worried.”He smirk then said, “You’re relieved to see me.”And it wasn’t a question.”Don’t push your luck. What is that thing there?”The monster was still groaning in pain as it looks as if it was gripping its hand.”That’s an oni. It was one of the creatures that person brought here. You did something to it. Oni is very strong and the only way to be able to even injure it is if you are the one.””I’m not who you think I am!”The oni then charged as Yuu walked a little bit in front of me.”What are you doing you idiot? It’s coming right at you!”He then turns his body slightly and his face looking at me with that smirk he adorns a lot.”Just stand back, my love. I handle this.”

My heart started to beat rapidly as he said those words to me.

He then swung his sword in a circle on the ground around him before stabbing it to the ground. He pointed to the oni as it kept charging before saying a word,”Ruz!”Then, the oni burned in a bright light before disappearing to dusk. Though something came from the oni as it disappear. It was the woman from the picture in the house.”Wait I thought you said oni was creatures not people.””Ma’am is you ok?”Yuu caught the mother as she fainted after being released. Her body looked frail and pale. It looked as if she was trapped for years.”We have to get her to a doctor,”Yuu stated my thoughts as he carried her on his back, “Call Daisuke.””Where is he?””He took the older of the siblings back to her sister. He should come quickly since it’s you.””Because it’s me?”I wondered out loud. Crazy enough I took a breath and call.”Daisuke! We need you now!”Not a minute passed before the wolf showed up and barked affirmative. We all got on his back as he carried us to the place we were at first.

We arrived to at our destination. When I first woke up to this world, I never realized we were staying in was a feudal Japan style hut. It was big enough to keep an entire army in. The yard on the inside was enormous. I could fit a whole playground in there. Yuu took the mother to the High Priest as the girls and I follow quickly behind. The girls and I was pushed out of the room as Garude examine her. Yuu went to get the mother something to eat. The sisters hug each other as they sat next to the door as I stayed there as well.”You’re the pretty lady who helped Yuu-sama rescue Maman and Rie?”The younger sister asks me.”Uh yes I am.””Thank you.”Rie nodded, “I wouldn’t know what I’ll do without Ran and mama.”I smiled a little because I could understand exactly how she felt. I told her that too.”Do you have siblings, pretty lady?””You can’t stop calling me that. I’m not that pretty anyways.””You are, you look like the rays from the aurora that once was in the sky,”Rie said as Ran nodded in agreement. They are saying the same thing like Yuu.”Anyways, call me Hikaru,”I told them my name as they nod.

“You three can go in now. Plus you’re blocking the way, “High Priest said as Yuu stood there and chuckled at us.”Sorry about that, Yuu.””Don’t worry about it,”he said as we all went inside the room.The girls were near the mother who was still in pain.”Is the mother going to be ok?” I asked the High Priest as he nodded.”She will be okay by tomorrow.For now she has to let the spell take effect.”I sigh in relief for the little sisters who hugged their mother as she smiled and hugged them back.

This is Oroco no machi and these people are villagers who have been suffering under the hands of an evil ruler. I wonder how long will I be here and if I am the savior they been waiting for.
