Chapter 15 Metamorphagus

Aurelius pov

We didn't find anything really interesting in the dungeons, one or two dead rats, but not much else. We decided to go into the big hall to look around and eat there.

It's about eight thirty and the great hall wasn't very crowded. This is because on weekends students are free to eat in the morning and breakfast is almost over.

Only Professor McGonagall, Sprout and Flitwick were seated at the teacher's table. Cederic seems to have turned his back on my view of the world, although he often agreed with me.

"Let's sit down there." he suggests, pointing to a deserted spot at the head of the slytherin table.

I put two freshly made French toasts on my plate while Cederic pours a warm soup in a Bowl.

"It would be really important to find a secret room here at Hogwarts as soon as possible, Aurel."

"I agree with you, could you pass me the jam, please?"

"French toast with jam?"

"Hand them over, if you haven't eaten that before you're an idiot." He puts the glass in my hand and i spread a thin layer over the bread.

"Mhmm."

While I'm enjoying my meal, Cederic gives me a funny look and tries to cool his soup.

"Are you a good reader Ced?"

"I think so, why?"

"I suggest." I clean my face with a napkin. "I suggest that you spend your free time studying the material for the first year.

I think it will take you a month or two if you put your mind to it I'll do the homework for both of us."

"What?"

"You have to work to surpass others, that's your ambition too, isn't it, to be better than others?"

"Of course." He agrees and continues eating. I explain to him how he should best start and give him a few tips.

"Also, you need to start learning Occlumency the art of closing your mind. It's an important skill that helps you understand things faster, so I would practice it intensively at the beginning.

Let's start today, I have some books suitable for beginners."

"I know what Occlumency is and I can do it, it was one of the things my mother taught me."

"That's amazing to hear, but have you ever faced a legilmentist?"

"She's had a teacher come in only once or twice, so I think I'm going to need some more practice."

*Timeskip*

I cleaned my hands with a napkin and then got up just as we were about to leave, I saw something in the corner of my eye.

Or rather someone, someone interesting.

"Follow me for a moment, I have to say hello to someone." I walk ahead to the hufflepuff table where most of the students were sitting.

When we reach our destination we stand behind two girls who are talking in front of us, both of them joking around and eating.

"Mhmm." I cleared my throat and cederic looked at me confused as to what I was doing here.

"Mhmm excuse me."

Both girls turned to us, they were both almost two heads taller than us and older.

"What do you want, Slytherin?" The girl on the right asked venomously.

"Excuse me good lady, I was just wondering about your hair, it was long silver blonde a moment ago and now it's pink and short. I wonder what spell it is, would you mind?"

"No spell." The fat girl on the left answered briefly and dismissively.

"How can that be?"

I saw that Cederic wanted to whisper the magic in my ear. Of course I knew what it was. But the girl with pink hair answered before and now also a lot nicer than before.

"I am a metamorphagus and can change my appearance at will." She explained in a friendly way and showed this also when her nose suddenly became tiny.

"Wow." I played, fascinated.

"You're a really funny person."

"Thank you." She smiled at me, no doubt wondering how a Slytherin could be so nice.

Now I turned to Cederic and told him, "Cederic, my friend, may I introduce you to my beautiful cousin.

Nym-pha-dora Black ... oh no what was it again Nymphadora tinks, teks" I introduce him to the girl and pronounce her first name extra long.

"Sorry Nymphadora, your name is Tonks, sorry i fogot, it's a very special name."

While my smile just got wider and wider, my cousin's smile became null and her hair turned red.

"Who are you?" She asked me again venomously and now stood up from the bench, closely followed by her friend.

"Excuse me and my manners, my name is Aurelius Cassius Malfoy and my companion next to me is Cederic, Cederic Diggory.

Did Aunt Andromeda never mention me? What a shame, I never got to meet her, but my mother spoke very highly of her.

And aunt Bellatrix you know her or do you even? Anyway, she is a lovely woman, she said that your mother's branch of the family was very special."

It was true that mother talked about Andromeda from time to time, and only in a good way, saying she was so innocent. Aunt Bellatrix, however, chose other words than special.

Cederic smiled and was about to shake her hand when tonks turned around and took her things and then disappeared with her friends.

On the way out of the hall I called out to her "I'll see you another time Nym-pha-dora, i hope Dora is alright you know, it's shorter".

Cederic and I look at each other and I tell him "she's apparently a morning mudfel. well anyway let's get on with Occlumency"
