chapter 1: New Home

I awoke with a massive headache under a tree in the middle of a field. Looking up I saw the vast blue sky dotted with puffy white clouds. I've been napping under the shade of a massive wall that stretches around as far as the eye can see. I remember now, going threw my tragic excuse of my past life's memories only to realize that there is still much to be done. I remember the rules that this and all world's follow. The strong live used and manipulated, people and their unquenchable greed, and the betrayal of those once thought could be trusted. Wherever a bright light shines the darkness of the world would soon follow, will this life be any different? Can it be?It must, I'll make it....I made a promise. To make that reality this time will be different.

With a determined look a got up from my resting spot under the tree and ran to start picking up firewood to finish my chores for the day.

As I made my way back home I was counting clouds and soon enough found myself at my front door. Opening the door I yelled "I'm Home!" "welcome back! you sure brought quite the hall didnt you?" my mom said as she was getting dinner ready in the kitchen. The food smelled amazing despite the little ingredients we had available. I went and dumped all the wood in the bin before sitting at the table just as father came back from work. Mom asked "Hey dear how was that patient of yours doing?" "Still the same complaints as last time with that guy. He still has problems with the bitter taste of the medicine, not that there is much I can do there." He smiled and patted my head before sitting at the table."Dinners ready!" mom said before placing the pot of stew on the table and gave everyone a portion. As always there was nothing quite like moms cooking as my bowl was quickly emptied. After everyone was done with dinner I looked up at dad and said "can I come with you next time you leave town? I've been so bored." he looked over to Mom and she nodded "I don't see why not next week I have to head out and help that family that stays in the forest and give their daughter a check up. There's no harm tagging along." "promise?" I asked "its a promise" he said. That night I had trouble getting to sleep as I kept going threw my memories until sleep unknowingly overtook me.
