1 Fire Avatar

In a world divided by the elements, four nations thrived: the Earth Kingdom, the Water Tribes, the Air Nomads, and the Fire Nation. Among them, the Fire Nation blazed with ambition and martial prowess, fueled by the flames of war.

In the heart of this fiery nation, there emerged a prodigy among prodigies. At the tender age of 14, he joined the military effort, his talent unrivaled and his determination unmatched. And in just one year, he etched his name into the history, earning the illustrious title.

The Fire Avatar.

Throughout the four nations, tales were spread about him. Whispers spoke of his ability to to weave smoke with the grace of an Airbender. Others claimed he could shape the very earth itself, summoning walls of molten magma with the sturdiness of an Earthbender.

While others believed he was the long-awaited reincarnation of the Avatar, but he dispelled such notions with a simple statement.

Yet, far from diminishing his legend, this revelation only fueled the flames of his renown. His mastery over fire and his enigmatic techniques to bend the other elements with flames made him a force to be reckoned with. Some whispered that he surpassed even the Fire Lord in power.

With eyes as distinctive as his prowess—a mesmerizing X in one, an alluring O in the other—he became an unmistakable figure in the Fire Nation. His mere presence evoked awe, and his words became like incantations to firebenders everywhere.

A simple declaration he once said, turning into a legendary quote.

"The flames answer to me alone. Others may borrow their heat, but it's my spark that ignites the inferno."

These words would echo through the ages, a testament to his unparalleled command over the flames.

And so, we find Asher now doing handstand push ups with a single hand, currently located in a garden of one of the Fire Nation's royal estates.

He was clad in a simple navy blue jumpsuit/kimono and black boots.

Beads of sweat trickled down his face, as murmurs of numbers could be heard from his figure, which was rising steadily, and descending.

"98."

"99."

"100."

With a controlled landing, his expression looked dull as he stretched slightly, 'I've managed to do pretty well in only a year...'

Ash's thoughts drifted to his mysterious rebirth in this world.

At first he was stunned to say the least, but once understanding the gravity of the situation he devised a simple plan.

Get stronger, get fame, use that fame to take the Fire Nation for himself, then finally live a nice relaxing life, and if possible, do so in the comfort of a woman.

One thing he did find weird was that his body seemed to be that of Shinmon Benimaru, a powerful fire user from the Fire Force anime. But he didn't really know much about him since he never watched the show, and only heard of the character.

Nevertheless his current body was amazingly talented in learning fire bending, allowing him to apply science from the modern world to here seemingly effortlessly.

'Ah~ I remember my first day in the military, I was a nervous little wreck...'

Memories of his time in the military came to mind, he used the war in order to get stronger whilst simultaneously increasing his fame and influence worldwide.

Of course he knew about his so-called, 'Fire Avatar' status, but he could only scoff at it.

'While I am powerful for my age, I doubt I'd be able to beat the likes of Fire Lord Ozai, or Iroh, not to mention other powerful benders... Fortunately I'm gifted with a large surplus of Chi Reserves, unmatched by even the greatest benders, so I can use this aspect of me to make it seem as if I'm powerful.'

Ash's eyes remained plain as he was lost in thought, 'Using grand skills such as breathing out large waves of fire, or creating a tornado of fire might seem powerful, but in the grand scheme of things, most skilled benders could negate the attack easily. So while I have large destruction capabilities, my attacking power isn't enough.'

Regardless he still didn't underestimate himself, he knew he was currently among the top tiers of this world's benders.

Using science and applying it to his Firebending, he could confidently say he was the most skilled Firebender in history...

And because of his battle merits, he was granted the rank General with a large plot of land which he lived at by himself since last week. He had just returned from serving his time in the war, and it was his first week in the fire nation.

Ash initially awoke in the midst of a small skirmish of Fire Nation soldiers vs Earth Nation soldiers over a year ago, and since then, he's experienced various things.

"Hmm?"

His thoughts were interrupted as his gaze landed upward toward the sky, sensing an approaching figure.

A few seconds later, a hawk came into sight as it swooped down and swiftly landed on his shoulder.

Ash calmly pet the birds head as it nudged into it, until eventually he took off the rolled piece of paper on it's back.

Reading the contents he seemed unsurprised as it said.

'Fire Lord Ozai, immediately commands General Asher's presence at the Royal Palace.'

Nodding contently he surmises it most likely has to do with the recent news about the Avatar's reemergence after over 100 years, and also pertaining toward Zuko's capture.

Of course he could have tried to capture Aang while he was in the ice, but there was a high chance he would awaken in the avatar state, and killing Aang wasn't part of his goal.

Shaking his head out of his thoughts he picked up a broom that was randomly on the ground, and promptly stood on it, before his eyes gleamed red.

Boom!

A burst of fire exploded from the bottom of the broom, as his figure zoomed upward at inhuman speeds.

A trail of fire was left in his wake as he traversed over the Fire Nation, causing people to recognize his figure because of his distinct way of transportation.

Normally a broom would just get destroyed, but after finding certain fire-resistant alloys such as, Inconcel, and making sure to control the heat from his fire, flight could be possible.

Flying with his body is also possible, but that wastes much more energy than usual.

After a few minutes of flying, his racing figure slowly came to a halt in front of a large structure.

Two large buildings on each side, with a singular tall tower at the center.

Ash landed directly in front of the gate of the Royal Palace, the Elite Fire Guards who were patrolling would give him a salute, before continuing their duty.

Walking into the large building, he eventually found himself in the Throne Room.

He observed the large wall of fire, and behind it seemed to be an ominous figure bathed in the flame itself, Fire Lord Ozai.

As Ash approached their positions he noticed another individual kneeling in front of the wall of flames.

His eyes narrowed as he recognized the female in her usual Fire Nation attire, it was Princess Azula.

Ignoring her presence, he stopped beside her and dropped down to one knee with cupped fists, "I greet the Fire Lord."

Azula indifferently glanced beside her, 'He must be that so-called, 'Fire Avatar', he's not that bad looking...' But she soon frowned, 'How dare he go on one knee, he should be on both knees, not even raising his head!'

Even she herself had to be on two knees when speaking with her father in the throne room, so she couldn't help but feel displeased when someone who's not even of royal blood act so nonchalant.

The Fire Lord himself also noticed this gesture, 'This brat is pretty much saying his power demands only one knee. How arrogant.'

Despite his thoughts, The Fire Lord couldn't help but smile amusedly, "Good that's the type of Behavior that should represent the Royal Family, this just shows that my decision is correct."

Azula furrowed her brows once hearing his words, "Father, what do you mean by 'Represent the Royal Family'?"

Ozai's calm gaze landed on Azula, "I have a few things to tell you two, among them is that you two will be getting married..."

"__"

"__"

Silence suddenly descended onto the room.

"*Cough**Cough*" Ash awkwardly clearing his throat resounded as even he was caught off guard.

Azula herself remained stunned, until turning it into a glare, "Father! Marriage!? You can't be serious!? Why would I marry a mere commoner!?-"

A thunderous command cut through her protest,

"SILENCE!"

Her eyes widened once hearing his tone before quickly bowing her head down, "Forgive me father, I've spoken out of turn."

Ozai silently scoffed before continuing, "As I was saying, you will marry General Asher, whether you want to or not. You two will also be working together to capture the Avatar, among other tasks, so you will do as I say."

Ash's gaze remained impassive as he replied, "Of course Fire Lord, your wish is my command."

Internally, he was rolling his eyes, he disliked being under anyone, which is why one day he would make sure freedom is his, one way or another. This marriage would also prove useful to accomplish that obviously, it allowed him a chance to become Fire Lord, or perhaps an alternate solution.

Azula herself seemed apprehensive, before finally speaking again, "Father, I do not wish to serve someone weaker than me, please grant me the opportunity to duel him in the arts of Agni Kai. If he wins I will do as you say and marry him, but if I win, I wish the right to decline this."

Ozai's eyes narrowed, his annoyance was palpable, yet he saw opportunity in her defiance.

'Perhaps I should accept her request, I haven't been able to see the General in action yet, and this could be an opportunity to gauge his power, he could possibly even became the future Fire Lord should he be capable enough. At the end of the day, even if he loses, I can simply ignore her request, and force Azula to marry him.'

Concluding his thoughts he spoke, "Fine I shall allow it. General Asher, what do you think?"

Asher remained expressionless as he plainly responded, "I have no issue with this."

Nodding contently, Ozai stood up, "I will send you a message when the Agni Kai is ready. That is all, you two are dismissed."

The two got up with a bow before exiting the throne room, leaving the Fire Lord to his thoughts.

'If what the other Generals said about Asher is true, we need to tie him to the Royal Palace. Not to mention he seems to be a good fit for Azula...' Ozai's expression then changed to a displeased one, 'But some of the citizens are even saying he's more powerful than me.'

Shaking his head, he chuckled, 'A 15 year old brat stronger than me? How laughable. I admit his presence seems like the real deal, but that boy is still a country bumpkin, how could a mere child defeat me?... Nevertheless he shall be a useful asset for the Fire Nation, so I shall use Azula to entice him, and if he does defeat her that's even better. She seems to be getting more independent thoughts by the day, a humble beating should tame her down.'
