89 The Head Maid on Rampage

The trio of Yuns have left the Supreme Cloud Sect and flew back to Yun's family compound.

They were greeted by the Mu Family Patriarch and his sons, behind them was Mu Yurou who looked both pissed off, tired and devastated all three mixed in one.

"We demand answers from Yun Qinghong. Our family agreed to the strict rules that my daughter Mu Yurou would have only one child. Yet, this agreement was destroyed when Yun Qinghong switched the babies and allowed my grandson to be left on a hostile and foreign continent!

Now that the truth came out I learned that my grandson has died!" Mu Feiyan exclaimed angrily, all of his sons behind him had the same angry look.

"Mu Feiyan, watch what you are saying. Don't you step over the line!" 

"Over the line!? Our grandson has died! And you want this fake one to be installed in its place!" 

The pair of Patriarchs started to eye each other.

"For the sake of how our families have been close for many years, I am simply cancelling this marriage on the terms that your son can't do his duty as a man." 

Yun Canghai's eyes widened as this was an insult of the highest order, but at the same time he had a basis for these terms!

"Let's go. We have said our part." Mu Feiyan motioned to follow him.

"W-Wait! This— father!" Yun Qinghong looked at his disappearing wife—ex-wife with wide eyes! This can't be happening!

"There is not much I can do to stop this Qinghong. They have said their part and we can't change the rules of our family."

Seeing all this happening Yun Xiao could only feel guilt rising inside of him.

"...Father…Grandfather… I can forfeit my claim to the Patriarch position." 

The pair grimaced, the whole situation was getting out of control. It won't be long until everyone knows what is going on.

*Sigh*

"Yun Xiao, I know this is getting out of control, but we might need to do just that." Yun Canghai said with a sigh, things just can't stop happening to them!

Yun Xiao nodded after hearing that.

"I understand, In the worst-case scenario I can retreat to the Supreme Cloud Sect." He said that while pulling out a talisman. This was something given to him by his Aunt. 

This was a Talisman of an Elder of the Supreme Cloud Sect. 

Yun Canghai nodded seeing that. This was good, at least he is protected. Now though they need to deal with the fallout.

"Come you two, we need to return to Family grounds."

Yun's family's reputation has received quite a beating. For them, it was the exchange of one thing for another.

It's like they can't get a break, Yun Canghai returned but for that, Yun Qinghong lost his wife and alliance with the Mu Family.

Then Yun Qinghong fully healed but the secret about his adopted son was revealed. 

For one they hoped that Mu Yurou would keep the secret, as they even accepted Xiao Long's help and used his artefacts to help Yun Xiao gain the power of Profound Handle. 

But, it was all for nothing as Mu Yurou told her family and now chaos is brewing.

First of all, with the news spreading the Guardian Families learned that Yun Xiao was not his real son and that he switched the son.

What was strange is that the Guardian Families started to get strange theories as Yun Xiao was from the Supreme Cloud Sect.

The coincidences are on another level. The families that were forced to swallow the obedience pill started to fear that this was another plot of the crafty Supreme Cloud Sect.

That they planned the invasion many years ago! With Yun Xiao being the spy sent here all those years ago! The Yun family in truth were the biggest traitors of them all!

Hell, Yun Canghai even spent time with them! He knows the Young Master! The Demon King even was sent to persuade the Little Demon Empress to surrender! 

All of these things in the end made so much sense! Yun Xiao was a mole that somehow made the Yun Family fall and become puppets of the Supreme Cloud Sect! 

With such revelation, the Helian Family had a method available for them to mess with the Supreme Cloud Sect! They have a mole of their own!

While they can't go directly against the Supreme Cloud Sect, there is nothing about fighting and messing with the Yun Family!

Their mole is Yun Xinyue, thankfully they can still use him, as Duke Huai Palace is still operational even if Duke Ming is dead.

After all his son Duke Huai is still alive even if he lays low at this moment.

With quick arrangements, the Helian family and Duke Huai are back to working together to cripple the Yun family.

The only issue is that they need to make sure no trails come back to them. Yun Xinyue is poisoned with a specific poison; this is the reason why he even listens to them.

"Duke Huai, what do you think?" 

"The plan is not bad but we need something that won't lead back to us." The Duke said with a thoughtful look. He, just like Helian's Family and several others, realised that the Yun family most likely had been in contact with the Supreme Cloud Sect for a while.

Such a betrayal can't go unpunished!

They even went as far as to lie to their most trusted ally, the Mu family!

Such treason is of the highest level!

"Then it's a good thing that the Supreme Cloud Sect has given us the method to do just that."

Helian Kuang pulled out the obedience pill. 

This is the same pill all of them have consumed, and the consequences of this pill are already well known to the seven families but not the other five.

"This is?"

"The obedience pill."

"...How do you even have it?" 

"We are given these in bulk. We tried to figure out how it works but these pills are far too arcane, they don't even use the regular method of pill crafting. Their creation method is alien to us."

Duke Huai looked at the pill with a hard gaze. He could see runes floating inside of it. This thing looked more like a bubble than a pill.

"The thing is that this pill will make one obedient to the Supreme Cloud Sect. However, there is one ultimatum: if one kills a member of the Xiao Clan, the ruling family of the Supreme Cloud Sect, that person will die the moment he consumes the pill."

Helian Kuang said with a sweaty forehead as he dropped on one of the knees. Just thinking about disobeying the Sect makes him dizzy. 

Duke Huai looked with some awe when he saw how the Patriarch of the Helian family looked at this moment. Just talking about this makes him like that!?

"This… such a powerful pill!"

"Indeed— and I am simply thinking about a mole in the Yun Family, a family which has no direct link with the Sect. This is horrifying."

"Very well. Then we will use this pill on Yun Xinyue after he arranges the death of Yun Xiao!"

Helian Kuang stiffly nodded. They were playing with fire, but they wanted to get revenge against such traitors. This is far worse than what they did. 

Sacred Grounds never cared about taking over the continent. But the Yun Family invited an entity that took the whole continent from them!

Thankfully Duke Ming and Duke Huai made everyone surrender swiftly to conserve their strength for future rebellion, however, they never thought how the Sect would take over the continent!

The invaders' move was so brutal, that they didn't have the means to fight back against the Supreme Cloud Sect!

This attack will be to make an example of the Yun Family who betrayed the Illusory Demon Continent and brough enemies to their home soil.

However, all of this is just to release that pent-up annoyance that they are powerless against such force. Like cornered dogs biting at anything they can.

At the very least they can scheme against the Yun Family to get back— in some way.

For bad or worse Yun Xiao helps the scheme as he often leaves the city to see the Seventh Sister, also known as Tianxia Diqi.

The blonde elf girl is from the Elf clan which is one of the Twelve Guardian Families. 

So it was quite easy to fake the letter and make Yun Xiao come outside the city.

When Yun Xiao arrived at the place which was mentioned in the letter. 

A powerful lightning attack struck him in the back!

"Ugh!?"

The unsuspecting adopted Yun collapsed on the ground. Lightning attacks like that disturb the flow of Profound energy which causes him to struggle with calling forth his cultivation base.

"...W-Who? This was Yun Family arts!" Yun Xiao exclaimed as he was about to move but he was intercepted by a higher cultivation base! He got smacked into the ground, with extreme force!

'Middle stages Overlord! It's a trap! Damn!'

Instead of answering someone just stomped on his face and proceeded to kill him off with a sword stab.

It was swift and right to the point. Starting with dantian and finishing with Heart.

At that moment the talisman Yun Xiao had cracked then shattered!

Not that anyone noticed.

"The job is done. You said that you would finally give me an antidote." Yun Xinyue said with an annoyed tone. While he was pissed that the Yun family betrayed the Illusory Demon Continent. He believed the same thing after Duke Huai told him. Yun Xiao was still part of the Yun Family, he would rather kill someone else…

"Indeed. Here you go." The man who was cloaked handed over the pill.

Yun Xinyue didn't even bother checking it. He already decided long ago if they wanted to kill him they had the chance many times before.

So he didn't think much about this.

With casual motion, he simply swallowed it and the next second he collapsed on the ground and started to trash around from pain.

"Aghhh!!! What did you do to me!!?" 

Before long something snapped inside Yun Xinyue, his eyes, mouth, and ears started to bleed. Then another snap happened and the guy was dead!

"...Such brutality…his organs one by one erupted." The cloaked individual said with horror, he had never seen a pill that forces one's Profound energy to kill you! This was brutal! 

…

…

…

"The same is going to happen to you." A female voice said behind him.

"!!!"

The cloaked guy jumped back and turned around. He was face to face with a girl dressed in maid clothes. She didn't look older than 20!

"Who are you!?"

Instead of answering her cultivation descended on him! It was Peak Monarch!

"!!!"

The cloaked individual could not even stand! Or breath! This was not a normal Monarch! The Profound Energy was extremely pure and potent! This girl was from the Supreme Cloud Sect!

"H-How!? This is impossible! How did you find us here!?"

She snorted, hearing that, with a single step, she was in front of the deceased Yun Xiao. The maid got on one knee and checked if he had a pulse. There was some hope in her but she quickly found out that he was truly dead.

"You people truly have no idea with whom you are dealing with.

I am not my Young Master. I don't play with people, you have killed my last remaining close blood relative! For that… I will make your life a living hell!"

At that moment a silhouette of a woman with starry black hair manifested behind her. This being was holding a sword.

With a single motion from this woman, all of the limbs of the cloaked man got cut off!

"AGHHH!!!"

The guy screams from pain and fear as before he collapsed the maid caught him by his hair.

The next second he was forced to swallow a pill which did something to him! He could tell! At that moment he felt like he was a prisoner in his own body!

"Now speak! I want to know everything! Who did this!?"

Sure enough, the guy said everything he knew.

But—

It was not everything!

Once the cloaked guy's usefulness was done the maid with a single stroke shattered all of his organs before dropping to the ground.

*Tsk*

"This was an obedience pill. One of mass production ones. We handed these to the Seven traitorous families." The maid whispered to herself as she walked over to the other dead man.

She rolled the corpse on its back and saw that he was bleeding from all its orifices. All of the organs erupted according to the pill's configurations. 

All she can think is that one of the families handed over one of the pills. 

But that would be hard to find as they are mass-produced. 

"That cloaked man was just a hired goon who didn't ask any questions. My only lead is this dead man."

The maid proceeded to engulf both corpses with her Profound Energy before flying back into the Sect.

She needs to see people from the Medical Hall!

Disciples in the Medical Hall freaked out when they saw Head Maid enter with two floating corpses. 

They quickly guided her to one of the elders who proceeded to assist her with whatever she wanted.

"Check this man. I want to know if we have any sort of information in the Medical archives." Xiao Lingxi ordered with a cold voice as she looked at the corpse.

"U-Understood!"

The elder activated the medical table artefact which scanned the body.

Seconds later the barrier walls manifested with information in front of them.

"...Yun Family? He is closely related to Yun Canghai and Yun Qinghong!" The Head Maid exclaimed with anger.

"Yes. However, this one has been poisoned. From the looks of it. This poison is very specific." The elder pointed at another barrier wall. This one is far more intriguing for the Elder.

The girl slowly nodded and calmed down a little bit.

"It's a Venom type of poison which is situated around the heart area. He is potentially forced to do this since the poison would attack the heart if he didn't."

*Hmph*

Xiao Lingxi snorted with anger. Before checking the other information. 

Apart from this, there was no other interesting information, not that she needed anything else.

With scans done, she took the pair of corpses away.

For Yun Xiao, she took him to the Xiao Clan Graveyard. The Head Maid instructed the disciples to prepare a grave for her nephew.

When she was done with that she flew down from the Sect right into the Yun family compound with the other corpse.

Peak Monarch cultivation descended and crushed into the compound.

"Yun Canghai… we need to talk." Xiao Lingxi's voice spread through the whole place.

"My son! Who did this!?" A man screamed from the top of his lungs.

Xiao Lingxi ignored him and instead looked at Yun Canghai and Yun Qinghong who were utterly shocked to hear what the maid just said.

"This one killed Yun Xiao. He was commanded by a cloaked man. The reason he followed the commands is that he had some sort of venom in his heart.

At least this is the theory the Elders in the Medical Hall came up with."

She explained with little care about this Yun guy. What was burning inside of her was that she needed to find the culprit!

"The only lead we have is the venom."

"You! Do you think I will believe that—"

*BOOM*

Yun Waitian, who was the father of the deceased Yun Xinyue, flew into a wall like a ragdoll.

"My only remaining close blood relative was killed by this fool. So I suggest keep your mouth shut, or I will teach you what happens when a core member of the Supreme Cloud Sect starts taking things seriously." The maid said with a voice full of venom. 

All the man in the wall could do was grunt from pain. 

This was enough for Xiao Lingxi to release her hold on him as she looked at the Patriarch who had a sweaty forehead.

"Now tell me which of the Twelve Families potentially use poison!?" She snapped angrily.

"...Umm… it potentially could be several families as they are demons. Like the Helian family or the Jiufang Family, their Beast forms are that of poisonous beasts."

"Hmm, this is a lead worth looking into." She murmured to herself for a second.

"Very well. I will investigate them. They are under the Supreme Cloud Sect's thumb already."

After saying that she dropped the corpse and proceeded to fly away.

Once she was gone the Yun family members sighed in relief. They didn't realise it yet, but they were holding their breaths the whole time!

"AGHHHH!!!"

Helian Kuang was screaming from the top of his lungs as pain coursed through his body.

In front of him was Xiao Lingxi…

"Oh? Foolish, I only asked a question and you are already screaming from pain.

You don't realise how complex the obedience pills are. I commend you for abusing their abilities for your gain. But it was an utterly short sign that we won't find out what happened to a member of the Xiao Clan." The maid softly explained with a mocking tone, her eyes showing endless contempt.

"Now die for me."

The moment she said that the Patriarch stopped screaming and all the organs erupted inside of him from a single word.

"...F-From words!?"

*Snort*

"What? You expect me to do something? He was not worth lifting my hand. Such delusional people need to be exterminated with extreme prejudice."

*Gulp* 

The rest of the family members gulped down. She only needs to tell and they will die! That's just insane!

"Regardless, who is next in line?"

"Helian Kuang's son…"

When she heard that her gaze went to the man who looked to be in his thirties.

Another snort escaped from her mouth.

This one had the same aura as his father. 

"No. He is not. He will die as well."

"GAGGGHHH!!!"

The guy grabbed his chest as he collapsed on the ground. He was dead as well.

"The next Patriarch…will be you." Xiao Lingxi said as she looked at the elder who had the least amount of disgusting aura. Their aura's remind her of Xiao Yulong and his father. People like those need to be purged!
