35 Taking Over the City

With a sigh, I walked into the hall.
"Long'er, clansmen are ready. Should we move out to take over the city?" My Grandfather said to me as he saw me enter the Elder Hall.
"Yes. The quicker we take over, the quicker we can establish how we want the city to spread on limited land." I said with a thoughtful look. It was time to establish the rules.
"Very well. Give the command!"
Xiao Li said to the Second Elder and my granduncle.
With a nod, I went outside and proceeded to float up. I looked around and saw several thousand Xiao Clanmen between [True Profound] and Early [Spirit Profound] waiting for orders.
A few minutes later the main clan gates opened and all of the Clan men rushed out.
I followed after them, though a few seconds later Mu Lingxue and Chu Yueli joined me. As my battle maids, they are around me when combat happens.
"Young Master?"
"We are taking over the city. Let's proceed to see if anyone will resist us."
I said, curious to see whether there is any 'smart' person who would do that.
Though I got disappointed very quickly. This was a cultivation world.
When a weaker cultivator senses a stronger one, they usually give up.
This is how 90% of situations are resolved. It's only different when the main character is around.
Only he can fight with large cultivation base differences…
As I thought that, I rolled my eyes, before looking at how cleanly everything was taken over.
No one fought…
"Hmm?"
My gaze went to the place where the leeches were hanging out after I sent them packing.
They didn't leave the town. Instead, they started camping…
'I do have to keep my promises.'
As I thought that my tattoo started to glow.
My dragon manifested. Both of us proceeded to land on the ground. We were followed by my battle maids.
"As I said before. I am following through with my promises."
My voice spread through the area.
"Y-Young Master X-Xiao! We are waiting for our turn to try to join Xiao Clan!" One of the stuttering men said with a terrified voice as he saw the Fire Dragon staring at him.
"That's a load of nonsense. If you tried to join you would have at least tried to enter. And I would have sensed a [Earth Profound] mingling around."
I said with an amused smile as I saw through this guy. He tried to leech and reach that [Sky Profound] then just leave.
"N-No…I just arrived here! I am waiting for my turn!"
"Sure…" I said with an eye roll, then I commanded my beast.
"Eat them up."
The dragon roared and lunged forward. What followed next were screams and sounds of breaking bones.
After eating up the leechers, the rest gave up very quickly.
People noticed the dragon was out. It was that last straw for any defence.
My next destination was checking Xia Manor which was empty… and apparently, it was sold…
So my next goal was to buy it off again. It was my wife's birthplace and her home. So I immediately arranged for it to be bought out.
'It appears Xia Hongyi followed the same path… well…'
I thought about this for a while. He was with the Black Moon Merchant's Guild so he should be safe.
Once I was done with this, I went back to my home. I left the rest to my Grandfather, who will arrange the city's development with the City's Mayor.
Whatever happens to the mayor, or if a new one will be elected, or appointed…I don't quite care. My interests lie with my Clan.
As I returned to my home, I saw my maids working and cultivating.
The new batch of ex-Xiao Sect girls are already here. One could see the difference in their disposition.
One girl practises Fire and the other ones practise Wind. So the aura around them is different.
Easy to differentiate, for me at least, as my techniques are getting better and better… it's easier for me to see through which element they wield.
"Alright! New girls. Line up. Time for me to teach you some basic arts."
As I said that, the new Xiao maids rushed forward and lined up. It appears the Phoenix Maids already taught them some basics.
"I assume you girls already know Xiao Sect martial arts?"
They all nodded at the same time.
"Yes. Young Master. However, we can't call them Xiao Sect arts anymore." The maid reminded me of the change which I did a few short days ago.
"Of course. It takes time but the arts eventually will be improved and the old ones will fall out of use."
"Understood."
After talking for a bit, I proceeded to teach them two of the most important and basic arts. The Focus and Profound Energy Control.
I learned that these two could be game changers when two cultivators of the same rank fight. It falls on how efficient the energy usage and the ability to focus when one is mentally tired.
Once I taught them, the Phoenix Maids looked at me with nearly begging looks.
"...What is it?"
"...Could…Young Master teach us… Fire Profound Energy control art?"
"Please?"
"Please? We are willing to work extra, extra!"
"Yes!"
I could only sigh and roll my eyes. When 10 girls surround you and start borderline begging…

One by one, I taught these girls advanced methods of Fire Profound Energy control.
They were quite excited by this as their powers and control over Phoenix Flames got better.
Though… this reminds me about the Fire Seed and what I am planning to do with it.
"Now that you learned this, proceed to practice."
"Yes!" They all nodded at my words, at the same time .
Once they all left me alone, I proceeded to think.
With a simple hand motion, I summoned a red ball emitting blazing Fire Profound Energy.
I tried to scan it with my regular profound energy, but my senses simply can't pick up anything.
So I tried different means… like deploying arrays around it.
Something akin to the core of a reactor and the arrays were like readers trying to grasp what this ball of energy is emitting.
'If I can grasp what this is… then Fire Laws would be fully mastered by me…'
That sounds easy enough…
But it's not… even my arrays can't grasp this…
'In that case…'
I went outside and proceeded to deploy more and more analysing arrays which got solidified by several crystal rods I pulled out from my storage ring.
One circle, then two followed by four more, then eighth circles.
By the time there were 32 circles surrounding one single small one the arrays started to pick up traces of purest forms of Fire Profound energy.
'Well, well… what do we have here…'
I started to sense and try to mimic how the energy emitted by the Fire Seed works.
The issue with this was… that it's not just Profound Energy. But the element itself…
So my idea at first is to just use the excess Profound Energy to control Fire then lower and lower the amount of Profound Energy I use to wield the flames.
Until I can wield them without Fire Profound energy or regular energy.
However…
This is not easy… at all…
My Cultivation is too small to start bending the very laws of the universe.
However, this doesn't mean I can't do this on a small scale…

She used her original contribution points to get the raw materials, and then made pills out of them. After selling it for points she got more points than she had originally spent.
So, she just repeated the process and now she has small leather bags of pills which she will give to her father.
The Princess is hoping that these Vitality pills will improve her Royal father's deteriorating health.
"Cang Yue. Can I come in?"
"Y-Yes!"
For a second she panicked and quickly stored her new pills away.
"You do know that the stuff you make with your wealth belongs to you?"
The Young Master said with an eye roll as he already figured her out. This realisation only made her even more embarrassed.
"...Sorry…"
Xiao Long snorted when he heard that.
"It's fine. I want to ask about the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament."
"...Hmm? Are you interested in it? I don't think Heavenly Sword Villa will like you crashing that tournament and dominating with your superiors Cultivators…"
Cang Yue counted that Xiao Long has at least 7 maids who could dominate the tournament.
[Sky Profound] would crush everyone in the tournament… she is not even talking about the half of Phoenix Maids who were in [First of Emperor Profound].
"Well too bad for them. Though I have no interest in the fights themselves or the tournament. However, what I am interested in is the event AFTER the tournament."

"I suppose. That is acceptable."
This time she smiled quite widely.

"So, tell me, what have you been cooking?"
"!"
For a second she blushed and showed him her stash of Vitality pills.
"...I hope I could help my father to live longer if I could give him these pills."
He took one and inspected it.
"Hmm… interesting… you slightly altered the way you made them. Instead of an instant boost in vitality, you made it in a layered version." He said with an impressed tone.
"Un!" She nodded swiftly at the praise. The Princess then proceeded to explain.
"I remember you telling me about the Sky Profound awakening pill. So I thought why not do something similar with a vitality pill?
"This way the vitality is given little by little and it will last longer!" She explained to him.
"And this way, a person can use much more of these pills. Though… the effect is weaker. You would be gambling that the pill's effect is enough to counter the health deterioration." He added this extra bit on the top which instantly deflated her.
"...I know… but I need to try."
"Hmm. I suppose we should visit and check out your father. I want to see if I could make a pill which could save his health."
Her eyes widened when she heard that.
"You would!?"
"Yes. Plus I want to see the capital. Strange or not. I haven't seen another city yet."
"..."
Cang Yue that moment reaffirmed what she originally thought when she saw him.
The Young Master never truly left his home. Yet…everyone is coming to him.
This means that he doesn't need to leave his hometown!
"I understand…If you wish… I will be your guide in the capital. This is the least I can do." She said with a thin blush while one of her hands was playing with her hair.
Hearing that Xiao Long just wrapped his hand around the princess and pulled her closer.
"So cute. I didn't know Cang Yue could be this adorable!"
This made her blush return with force… she didn't know how to react to that!
"...I am just trying to pay back in some way."
"If you say so. Anyway… here take this pill. It will elevate your Cultivation by a few small realms. After all, you do want to impress your father with increased cultivation do you?"
Xiao Long handed over a pill to her.
"Thank you… How much do I still need to practise Yang-based energies?"
She asked him while looking away. There was an obvious deep blush on her cheeks.

"Not much left…"

"Hmm, why don't I just transfer this to you?" He said with a thoughtful look as he was thinking something at that moment, he then put his index finger on her forehead.

When she heard that, she got extremely serious about this!

The servant left the hall and went to find the elder.
A few short minutes later an old man appeared in front of Xuanyuan Wentian.
"Sword Master… you called me?"
"I did. Do you remember Heavenly Sword Villa?"
The name of the place alone made the old man's aura get slightly chaotic.
"Yes. Of course."
"Well, they can be more useful to us than just keeping that demon sealed off." Xuanyuan Wentian snorted while saying that.
That backwater place is good enough to be used as a storage place. Or more precisely as bait.
"Oh? What do you have in mind, Sword Master?"
