6:29am, Joy walked along the hallway.

She had a hop in her step as she walked down the silent and empty hallway. She hummed a tune of her own, staring in front of her with a mix of calmness and playfulness.

“What we even doing here this early?” Fable asked, yawning behind Joy.

Joy turned her head back, still walking forward. She had a wide smile on her face as she said, “What’s wrong with waking up early?”

Fable gave her a look. “I’m asking why we’re in school this early.”

Joy spun her body and walked backwards, facing Fable. She said to him, “Think about it, what’s a better time than now to speak to the higher-ups? The surprise! The shock! An unexpected visit from me, myself and I!”

“Still don’t get why you don’t do this in the afternoon.” Fable said, not the least bit bothered by Joy’s energy. “Or the evening.”
