Astral Merchant

Larcen was a man who took on low-paying jobs to earn a living. But he had a goal, and that was to become a diver, an occupation filled with uncertainty and high mortality rate. While it was dangerous, he had two reasons to pursue it. One was for riches and the other was because of the screen that floated in front of him. {System will unlock once the user goes to another world} He expected to get something that could help him evolve but little did he know that he would receive something far more versatile and powerful. Something that had the potential to overthrow the high-humans, the beings who had a hold on most of the Astral Dimensions.

Angry Mike (1)

He dashed towards the group as fast as he could and he could still feel the tingling sensation on the right side of his face and body. Ignoring the uncomfortable feeling, he continued to run right behind Mike and the girl.

Not even a second had passed and he felt a presence behind him to which he reacted by turning around. It was the guy he had helped at first and he was looking right back at him. Once their eyes met, the guy simply gave a nod and sprinted even faster, overtaking Larcen in just two seconds.

Meanwhile, Larcen didn't care and instead, he wanted more people fighting with him but for some reason, he felt irritated. He didn't know why but he wanted to fight them alone.

'I'll have to get stronger first.'

He got close to the group and once he was only a few meters away, he pulled out one of his knives and unsheathed it using his mouth to pull the leather off. By the time he was done with getting his knife ready, he was in slashing range.

He swung his machete diagonally, cutting off the arm of the goblin before moving over to the others. The goblin he had just cut was killed by Mike the next second and Larcen activated his Flow state.

He only had one goal in mind and that was to simply hit the goblins. He didn't care if it was a fatal hit or not and only wanted to inflict damage. For four whole minutes, he dodged the attacks from the goblins and randomly slashed at the goblins with his machete and knife, cutting them in random areas.

The force behind the slashes was less this time so even when he slashed at the arm, he only inflicted a deep gash instead of directly cutting off their arms. The results were still the same as the blades penetrated deep enough and only stopped when they met resistance from the bone.

Unbeknownst to him, small cuts piled up on his body while he was busy going bonkers. There was a limit to his physical abilities after all. In the four minutes, he had slashed at more than ten goblins and that was only counting the attacks that would incapacitate them.

Once four minutes were up, he maneuvered out of the fighting group and ran away from them before deciding to sit behind a car that was not so far away. Depending on his stats, killing the goblins was not an easy task, and doing so wouldn't even give him usable SP.

'I'd rather have the other kill the goblins and get the SP instead of kill them myself for about a week without any reward while doing so. I might get a skill but for now, stats are much more important to me and I already have a skill unlike many people here.'

He had checked their statuses before and most of them didn't have any skills. The only one who had it was a girl who seemed to be around the age of 16 but Larcen couldn't know for sure as his Merchant's eyes didn't really tell him about people's ages.

The girl had a skill similar to his inventory but it looked like a degraded version compared to his based on the name of the skill which was called "Storeroom"

He took deep breaths, trying his best to recover his energy and replenish his stamina. A minute passed and the adrenaline levels in his body dropped down. He felt stinging pain in various spots and checked the accessible areas, only to see cut marks on them.

'Ah, I didn't even feel it.... haahhh'

He hadn't noticed it before but the sun was about to set as it dyed the sky in reddish orange. Looking at the sky, he felt dread as he accessed the memories of Jack Turner's time when was reading Manhwas and Novels.

"When the sun sets, the monsters become strong huh...."

He had caught his breath by now and checked his system as he decided to rest a little bit more. The System points had gone up from 0 to 2 and before he could get up and join the fight, new notifications appeared.

{Mana levels are receding and stabilizing in the atmosphere}

{Tower of Destruction's spawning is paused.}

{Creatures from the tower of destruction will receive a debuff due to the lack of sufficient mana in the atmosphere}

{Weak native mutated creatures will lose their ability to function due to the lack of mana}

He turned to look at the goblin hoard he was fighting a few minutes ago and saw that they were getting completely decimated. The 20% buff was nothing compared to the 50% debuff which brought their attributes down to 60% which was only 0.3.

Adding to that, the wounds left by Larcen weighed them down even more which only brought them swift but a momentarily painful death as the Baseball bats with nails smashed against their now frail body.

It only took them two minutes to finish off the rest of the goblins and once that was done, they walked back. The girl and Mike were panting lightly while the other guy looked like he could go for another round.

To Larcen's surprise, Mike headed straight to him and extended his arm forward, to which Larcen responded with a handshake.

"Thank you.", he said before catching his breath and added, "If not for you, we probably would've all died."

"It's alright... I'd probably die too if I fought on my own."

Mike nodded and released his grip from his hand and looked at the remaining people, "You guys... useless. Don't give me the "where is your humanity" crap. Yeah sure, we can fight for you guys but you guys aren't contributing anything. All you do is get in the way and take away all the useful weapons while saying that you need them because you are weak.

Especially you. What was your name again? Benjamin? Take your bitches and get out of here."
