Achilles looked around as they held the line as the Empire's forces tripled in their appearance as they flooded forward trying to crash the frontline. Achilles was having none of it as the lancemen of the empire surrounded Achilles as he drove them back with ease. Not coming past the frontline as the flanks held up. The various mechs held their ground as the empire was refocusing.
'What are you trying to do?' Achilles thought to himself as he saw the reports that the clone line was slowly falling. 'No, that isn't their plan, Titan has his forces going all out on that front. What is the plan?'
The Empire halted at a line and only sent lancemen at Achilles, Alice peeked over cover as the empire set up their barricades and held the defensive line as the lancemen kept coming. "Reload all weapons and munitions, eat and rest if they are sitting on defense!" Alice stood behind Achilles as he was dicing apart the lancemen as a hole opened up on the horizon. A clutch of men slowly marched forward. "All forces stay on high alert and cycle all cylinders on the mechs. Change the lines."
Achilles saw these men approach and stand in front of him as he felt the plan step into motion without talking to them. They wanted to buy time to move around and distract the top force of it all. "What do you want?" Achilles held his blade up as he set his other on his waist, the gift from Astral waiting.
"Oh, it is simple. If you are in fact the man you say you are, the strongest warrior of your kind, you can take the empire's elite all at once. If you win, it buys time for your forces to recuperate and refresh." the man in the middle who towered over his comrades smiled as he spoke.
"You want to buy time as much as me. Alice?" Achilles looked behind him for a moment. She gave the thumbs up as he knew the plan was in the works. "You want to prepare and hit us all at once, if you die, you send the signal to the front to charge. Bold moves like we also aren't ready for that."
Achilles gripped his side as he motioned with his sword for them to come forward. The squad stood there in disbelief. "We see why you are chosen to lead an entire front by yourself." The tall man spoke as the rest of them around him charged inward. Their pikes pointed down as they charged in.
"All of the best generals and you still won't beat me in combat." Achilles still had the glow from earlier as he swung his sword down on the pikes. They all rebounded and slashed down at Achilles as with his speed he blocked each and every one in a singular motion as he took a breath inward.
Using the breathing techniques for the first time as he felt every muscle in his body being heighend to an even greater amount than before. The high from this feeling was elation as the pikes came in from all directions as the giant slowly walked towards the fight.
Achilles vanished before their eyes as they were confused at where he was as one of their bodies fell to the ground. They looked at the body as there was no head to it. Achilles stood behind the giant as he smiled. "Here, catch." Achilles tossed the skull as the giant man caught it as he swung down his mace. Achilles vanished again as he stood on the other side of everyone once more, how was this speed possible from what looked like a human.
"Death awaits all, why don't you all join him?" Achilles covered his cyan eye in pain. It hurt him to use his eye for greatness as intended as he backpedaled with their attacks in sync pushing him back. The man swung down the mace as Achilles reacted with his hand from his eye. Grabbing the item on his wrist as it extended. The spear appeared as it pierced the mace and shattered it in one strike.
"Do not test me with a good time." One clean swing with his new weapon as he beheaded everyone else around him while the giant stood with a gash in his chest, breathing heavily while an alert popped up on Achilles' heads up display. 'The clones have a new wave of reinforcements, everyone has a gift from Adam?'
He thought this was a lie as he kept toying with the giant. "How much more time do you want to suffer?" Achilles opened another gash onto the left leg of the giant as he fell to his knees. Achilles stood still as he heard two thuds next to him. The mech's whirred to life as Achilles looked at them.
"The guardians are here to assist you, four mechs total in your services." It spoke while Achilles rested his blade on the neck of the giant as he pleaded for his life. Following through with his slash the head of the giant came off as Achilles knew what was bound to happen.
"Once they start charging, filter down the frontline and keep equal spacing in between each one of you. If we need more help at a point, filter that way? Got it?" Achilles heard the gunfire start once more as the mechs from his army started to open fire once again.
"Roger that general, it will be done." The mechs followed the order and spaced out across the frontline as the empire's forces charged all across the frontline. The initial clash was a stalemate. But with their numbers versus Achilles and his army who dwindled at each death. It would take a miracle to hold out forever even with the mechs.
"We can't stop the sea of the empire can we?" Alice asked Achilles as they had retreated back a defensive line.
"No, but I can!" Achilles hopped over the barrier as both of his eyes brightened up, charging forward into their frontline, the blazing speed unseeable by the untrained eye. Alice couldn't keep up as his sword slashes were unstoppable. The spear, solar flare, piercing many with a single throw. He had to push himself beyond what would be possible. And with that, he could be unstoppable to anyone.
He forgot one thing as his body started to deteriorate as he wasn't used to the pressure of his eyes, they fogged up as he slowly lost the ability to see color. His muscles started to spaz out and clench up and stop working as he culled a third of the empire's army on the frontline. All he could see is outlines needing to be slain as his cyan eye cracked into pieces.
Alice charged in with the four guardian mechs as they needed to pull him out before he died. The fighting didn't slow down as Achilles collapsed in front of all of the guardian mechs. Alice grabbed him as he fainted from the stress on his body. The guardian mechs standing all around her as they slowly retreated.
