Subsequent Fall Part 28: Matter

James watched as his friend had been murdered in front of him, his hair turned into a marron red as all he felt was an unquenchable rage. The mass amount of people scattered as the guards were ready to open fire on the table. Lone flipped it up and sheltered Dante's body as the gunfire rained around the two of them.

James stood there as the bullets hit his aura, it had far surpassed the limits he once knew. His mind snapped as the chain links broke free. He grabbed the guards skull from behind him and thrashed it into the ground as the surrounding guards kept firing on James.

"Willow, he needs our help!" Angel pounded on the roof as she stabbed her sword into the roof. Trying to whittle access as she knew James could only last so long. Angel swung her spear around and jammed the impulse end into the hole Willow made as she backed up. Angel triggered it as the ceiling opened to show the barrage James was taking.

The collar was at maximum power as it still couldn't subdue James, all of his stacks were in aura. Even with the pistol's ammunition being developed to counter and bypass aura's James was brawling with each guard as their focus was fixated on him and not Lone.

James threw a fist through a guard's stomach and abdomen as he pulled out their section of spine. Throwing them like stars into the others, mortifying them as more flooded the area. Looking upward he saw Angel as she tossed him the bag of goodies he usually had.

Willow took a second to aim as she fired a sniper round through the guard that was aiming at the two of them. "Go get him and get out of here." A whirring sound came from behind them as Willow pushed Angel into the hole as she turned and faced the helicopter behind her.

Angel flew in and used her spear to disable the guards who just entered as the alarms were going off. "What happened?" Her voice trailed off as Lone cradled Dante in his arms. She walked over to the flipped table as an explosion was heard. She fell to her knees and put up his hair.

James had his gloves on as the white claws became red as he blitzed down the hallway, he was going to hunt each and every one of the members that convicted him and killed Dante. Blood became pooled on the floor as each member of the mass was killed one by one by a blinding fast light of red.

James had culled his way through all but the last two as they were running together down the hallway as James stood in their way, they froze as they stared at him soaked in blood as it slowly ran to their feet.

"You monster, stop killing innocent people!" The lady from the courtroom yelled at her.

"Like Dante? Someone who saw everyone as a friend." James slowly trotted at them as the man from before pulled a pistol out at James. "Cute." The man was shaky as he opened fire and unloaded the clip. Each round soared past James as he evaded each one while micro-adjusting for the bullets.

The gun clicked as it was empty. The man grabbed a second clip and put it in as the woman that was next to him vanished. His eyes darted around as a drop of blood fell from above. Looking up all he saw was the skull of his colleague stuck to the ceiling as a red claw was holding it up.

James grabbed the gun from the man as he kicked him down. Crawling away he looked back on James. "I-if you spare me, I will drop all charges for you and your sister and exonerate your entire kind!" he pleaded with a weary voice as James pulled the hammer back.

Firing each round into his chest as the man's body twitched lifelessly on the floor. James heard the gun run out of ammo as he threw it into the skull of the man. Splattering his brain matter all across the ground. James stared at it as he felt the unbearable pain of losing his friend to the one thing he wanted to stop.

Willow leaned herself against the outside of the building as she looked to her left side. Her arm was missing from its shoulder blade as she slowly faded in and out of consciousness. Astral and Jaimie stood above her and talked in a way that she didn't understand.

Astral held out his hand as all she saw was a flash of light before she felt nothing. Closing her eyes it had to be whatever came after death. Astral looked over to Jaimie. "If she pulls through on the Red Merle I think we have a special use for her if we were to ever vanish." Jaimie nodded.

"What about the twins? They can't keep losing everyone?" Jaimie's tone of concern overweighed any other concern.

"We have to protect Finnick better than we did Valkira." Astral motioned for her to follow as he hopped up to the roof. Seeing the hole and looking down as Angel was quietly crying for her friend as Astral and Jaimie landed softly. Kneeling next to ehr and hugging her.

"If there was anything you could do to save him, would you?" Angel sobbed through her words as Astral clung to her tighter.

"He would be one of my clones, no life for your friend to live." Astral whispered. "We will cherish him and forever remember him, right?" Angel nodded as she was feeling a little bit better as Lone sighed.

"Death is a fickle thing, which is why one must cherish life." He spoke as he and Dante went into the pocket dimension for hiding. Angel wailed in tears and agony as James snapped back to reality. Looking up he was surrounded by security guards.

"We have found the suspect. Engaging." One of the guards spoke into the microphone he had as James cackled.
