Subsequent Fall Part 14.75: Ideology

Astral and Jaimie made it back to the Red Merle as they entered the core. Flying through the refraction tunnel and looking in a different orbiting ball. Once inside the spell lit the black room as Jaimie and Astral looked down on it.

"What did the drawbacks become?" Jaimie looked around the room as a galactic looking shadow looked down from above them.

"You tinkered with it and made the drawback nonexistent. I warned you tinkering with spells would piss them off." Mike looked down on the two. "I read the spell as you physically paused time when this spell is in effect under anyone deemed."

"The cost being once I meet them, if I kill them, they can come back." Astral paused. "I made the spell to feed off of my paused aging. And yet a drawback was still made?"

"How cursed. The gods stepped in, and even worse yet. Anyone applied under the spell is under that umbrella." Mike started laughing. "You really fucked that one up. Their interference is why they want you alone. They don't like being played."

"You sound like you know alot about it and playing the gods." Jaimie dropped her shoulders.

"God, the holy father, and his son are as real as the others, the only two that have been ostracized by the rest. Other gods that speak up get crushed." Mike's glow dimmed as he felt like he failed. "They will hit us with all the different people you have killed, probably soon."

"I see, everyone that we kill, like Diddler, Titan, and the crown jewels will come back if not killed by some random person not under the spell."

"Like one very peculiar Lone." Mike smiled as the silhouette vanished like smoke. Astral and Jaimie had the idea and knew to keep it secret from the others, the spell still had its flaws and they could deal with it.

Angel kept carrying James as they made it to the rendezvous point. Looking around, Adam, Achilles and Airsoft were all missing as Proto and Omaha were standing there waiting for the two. "What happened to the others?" James hopped out of his sisters arms and hobbled over.

Angel rushed over and held up her brother as he was about to fall. "Proto, Omaha, where is Adam, things are getting worse before they get better."

"You two are going to have to bring it up to Astral and Jaimie." The Ambassador took off from orbit in a flash. "Adam, Achilles and Airsoft are all pretty banged up from their fights." Proto rested his hand on their shoulders. "Our forces are done here, we were waiting on you two."

Tears welled up in their eyes. "Why couldn't we just be stronger and beat the others for them?" Angel buried her head into James' shoulder as he was displaced by not being strong enough.

"You two stopped the biggest threat and went relatively unscathed." Omaha hugged the two of them from behind and lifted the two from the ground. "We can do all that worrying for you, just be glad they lived as well as you two." They just started to cry harder as Omaha carried them to the Everlast.

Once they boarded the Everlast lifted off as James lied down on a bed on the observation deck. Currently being helped by a random doctor with his achilles tendon. Looking through the glass he and Angel saw a portal open up where they were fighting Diddler. It swallowed the rest of the planet as James looked to the doctor. "We need to go to the bridge."

"Wait, you want to walk?" The doctor was alarmed by this news. "I can't recommend it. Your achilles tendons are held together by strings? There is so much scarring, how many times has your achilles been damaged?"

"Several times, the regeneration usually fixes it." James waved his hand as his achilles was slowly reforming.

"None of this makes sense, I am going to the bar." The doctor walked off as Angel assisted James to the bridge as Omaha and Proto glared at them.

"Look, we have a problem here and need to tell Astral immediately." James motioned to the panel. "Do you remember our code?"

Angel shrugged her shoulders. "Try five seven three four."

"Nope, no contact."

"What about two?" Angel walked over as James put it in. "Nothing, well, I am out of ideas."

"You have got to be kidding me. We serve under kids?" Proto taps their shoulders as they move back, typing his code quickly. "I'm going to close the shutters. And pray we are answered."

Astral looked over at the console. "It's Proto's code." Alexa yelled.

Astral walked over as Jaimie turned around and looked at the console. "Why would they be calling, is there an issue in transit?"

"No, I made the Everlast immune to everything including lightspeed magnetism." Astral answered. "Please tell me something is important, and if it is, why aren't you using Adam's code?" They hadn't gotten the battle report as the four of them froze.

"Oh, you haven't gotten the logs on what happened?" Proto blurted out as Astral's smile faded into a worried expression.

"What happened?" Jaimie asked as her voice grew concerned. The Ambassador just came into view of the bridge.

"Uh, let the twins answer first." Omaha nudged the twins.

"After fighting Diddler, something weird happened to the planet." Angel whispered first.

"It first was just the area where Diddler was, then the entire planet became consumed in a purple glow. " Astral and Jaimie looked confused at the keyboard.

"And this is pressing, why?" Astral quietly asked.

"Because he is working with the gods, and is going to come back again." Angel quietly spoke once more as Astral buried his hands into his face. Jaimie rested a hand on his back.

"Do not say anything to Adam. As for him, where is he?" Jaimie asked gently.

"He, Achilles and Airsoft all suffered wounds, nothing deadly, Adam's drawings saved him from it being worse as Nightmare battered the other two. We sent them back on the Ambassador due to it being faster." Proto gave the statement. He felt sickened like he should have done more.

"That was partly expected, glad to hear everyone isn't going to die." Astral felt relieved before the calls from the other two factions started rolling in.
