Chapter 2: Magic knights entrance exams

Timeskip 6 months

It was time for magic knight entrance exams. Asta and Yuno trained for the six months. Asta met the devil inside his grimoire. He learned that the devil was his adopted brother Liebe.Asta learned how to use Liebe's anti magic.He made Kyoka Suigetsu a anti magic blade. Asta also learned of his mother's death at the hands of the devil Lucifero. He vowed to destroy the devil if they crossed paths.

Asta and Yuno said goodbye to their family. They made their way to the clover capital. They would go to the arena where the exams was held. They would get in line. Their grimoires would get checked. People would be amazed at Yuno for having a four leaf grimoire.After that they went into the arena.

While waiting for the exam to begin, numerous anti-birds flocked the venue as they pester the examinees whom have low magical powers. However, Yuno stands at the venue while none of these birds try to bother him. In contrast, several birds circled around Asta.

Asta released a little bit of his pressure to scare the birds away.While most of the birds flew away one remained.The bird sat on Asta's shoulder.Asta could sense that it was no ordinary bird. He guessed that it was a human using transformation magic. Asta decided he would not confront the person.

After a few minutes passed all the magic knight captains showed up. William Vangeance introduced himself. Asta could sense two souls within William's body.

"Interesting. It looks like things will be amusing." Asta thought

"Attention examinees." Williams addresses the crowd

The people who were talking amongst themselves got quiet

"Thank you for waiting. I will be administrating this year's exams. "William said before opening his grimoire to use a spell

Magic tree descend"William said Summoning a huge tree.

From the tree's branches came brooms. Evey contestant was given one.

"In just a few moments we will begin the first of the series of test. The nine magic knight captains will be serving as your judges and when the exam is complete we will choose the individuals we want on our squads. If chosen your are in if more then one squad chooses you. You will decide which you would like to join. However if you are not selected for any squad. That means you have been deemed unqualified to join the magic knights.

And now for your test. You must use the brooms you have been given to fly."William

After he said that the examinees used the brooms to fly. Some failed others succeeded. Yuno surprised the examinees and captains by flying the highest with his broom.

"That kid has some talent." Yami said referring to Yuno

"He looks like he will be promising recruit." William

"That kid is not doing anything."Yami points at Asta

The other captains looked at him

They were wondering why he entered the exam if was not gonna put in any effort.

The tests went on. The next test were magic power test, magic power control test, creation magic. Asta did not participate. Yuno put on a impressive display.

The last test was a 1 vs 1 battle.

Yuno fought a noble and easily defeated him. Asta was challenged by Sekke. Asta accepted.

The fight started with Sekke insulting Asta for not having magic.

"Let's finish this so you can go back to whatever garbage heap you came from. Why would you someone who does not possess magic come here anyway." Sekke

"He is so dead. "Yuno thought

"If you ready begin" William

''Bronze Creation Magic Sekke Magnum Cannon" Sekke.

Bronze Creation Magic Sekke Magnum Cannon:With an open grimoire, the user manifests a transparent sphere around himself. The sphere has several peaks at random positions. It also has an intricate pattern across its surface.

"What do you think captains the Bronze magic power I crafted is dual purpose. It protects me and attacks with magic bullets. It will fend off his pathetic attacks showing off my defensive skills. Then the second he is exhausted I will go on the offensive and shoot."Sekke thought

"That looks like some fairly high level magic for a examinee.Finral said referring to Sekke

"He looks like a insect though" Yami

"Come and attack ." Sekke

"A mere ant speaking to a God like that. How insolent." Asta

"A God don't flatter yourself you magicless trash." Sekke

"Comparing me to you is like comparing a ant to the heavens and now this. Asta " Yuno thought

''That kid has a God complex huh." Yami

"His arrogance knows no bounds." Nozelle

Asta opened his grimoire. He summoned Kyoka Suigetsu from the grimoire. After bringing it out he said.

"Shatter Kyoka Suigetsu."Asta

The blade shattered. A second later the blade reformed.

"What was that" Yami

"His sword shattered then reformed" William

"He might be a promising recruit." Yami thought

After using his shikai he placed Kyoka Suigetsu in his grimoire. Everyone except one(Captain Dorothy) saw the blade's release.

"Well let's end this."Asta said before using Flash step to appear in front of Sekke

"He is fast" Sekke thought seeing Asta in front of him.

"Hado #90 Kurohitsugi/Black Coffin." Asta

Asta's Kido spell destroyed Sekke Bronze magic and injured him. The spears in the coffin did not pierce any vital organs. Asta knew how Yuno felt about him killing others. Asta decided to spare the insolent ant.

The captains and the examinees were surprised. They could not sense any magic coming Asta so how was it possible for him to do that.

After Asta's fight the selection would start. All the captains would raise their hands for Yuno. Yuno chose the Golden Dawn. When it was Asta's turn no one raised their hands.

"No matter how great your skill in battle might be. No one wants touch a power that mysterious. People aren't fond of the unknown. It boils down to this. The captains are looking for magic power. That is simple" Yami said before releasing his magic power in similar way Asta uses his spiritual pressure

The examinees were overwhelmed by Yami's magic power except Yuno.

"This feels weaker than the pressure Asta released." Yuno thought impressed and jealous of Asta.

"What would anyone want with you a kid with zero magic." Yami

"The opinion of a ant does not matter to me. Becoming a magic knight does interest me anyway." Asta

"Why did you come here then." Yami

"To look after my little brother and because I thought it would be amusing" Asta

"Huh" Yami said before he was restrained by Asta

"Bakudo #1 Sai." Asta

Bakudo #1 Sai:The practitioner points their index and middle fingers at the intended target(s), causing the target's arms to lock behind their back.

After restraining Asta pulled out Kyoka Suigetsu. He pointed the blade at Yami's throat.

Captains and examinees were shocked to see this.

"A simply slash is all it takes to send your head flying."Asta said before putting Kyoka Suigetsu back in his grimoire and releasing Yami from Sai.

After he did that Yami started laughing.

"You know what I like you kid. Why don't you join my squad the black bulls." Yami

"Ok" Asta

After a while the selection ended. Those who didn't get in a squad left. And those who made it in stayed. Asta and Yuno said their goodbyes.

"Go on Finral." Yami

"Ok" Finral said before opening a portal

"You have potential. With the right training you will become a force to be reckoned with." Asta said to Finral

"Huh me. There is no way someone like me could do that." Finral

"You should be more confident in yourself. And Finral when I say something is possible then it is possible." Asta

"Yeah sure." Finral said not convinced

After that they went through the portal and arrived in front of the base of the black bulls.

"From today your journey as a magic knight begins. Don't disappoint me kid." Yami

"As if a God would disappoint." Asta smiles

"Haha." Yami laughs

"You stupid captains you made wrong choice not to pick this kid." Yami thought

"My name is Asta Sosuke Aizen not kid." Asta

'Well then Asta I look to seeing what you accomplish." Yami
