Tournament I

I woke up earlier than planned so I decided to grab breakfast before heading out. Mina was already sitting at a table enjoying a plate of eggs and pork. I ordered at the bar and strolled over to where Mina was sitting. Greeting her, "Morning Mina, sleep well.".

Barely looking up from her plate, "Yeah, I slept like a log.".

Continuing on, "So Mina how do you think the tournament is gonna turn out?".

"Well me, you, Josento, and Arrion are the strongest contestants and no one else is really close to our strength", She replied.

"That's true the hardest fights we will have are against each other", I added.

After finishing our food we headed out towards the colosseum. I asked, "Hey Mina want to see what it's like to move at super speed?".

She thought for a little while, "Why not?".

After she answered I picked her and told her to hang on tight. She was lighter than I thought for someone as strong as her. As soon as she gave the sign she was ready I ran towards the colosseum and did a lap around before going inside and setting her down.

"Did you enjoy the ride?", I asked.

"Never doing that again", she said, as she stumbled around.

I patted her on the back, "Go rest we still got a little time before it starts.".

She sat down by the wall as I looked around for Josento and Arrion. I noticed the both of them chatting by the opposite wall. About fifteen minutes after we arrived, Godefray, leya, and Anna walked into the colosseum. As they were walking towards the stage all the contestants started getting into formation. Godefray waited on everyone to finish getting into formation and started, "Good morning to you all. During the tournament Anna will be on standby just in case someone might be hit with a lethal attack. Now that that has been said everyone spread out around the inside of the colosseum and we will start the first match."

Everyone started spreading out towards the walls. After we were in position Leya stepped up, "Maximina Vandyke and Lewis Shaw please step forward.".

Mina was quick to step forward and got into a fighting stance. Lewis on the other hand was a little slower to take position and Leya took her place on the front of the stage and shot a flare signaling the fight. Mina was the first to move in front of Lewis and threw a right hook straight into his face but all we heard was a dull thud. Stepping back she shook her hand a little, "Damn that's hard.".

I took a closer look at Lewis and his skin looked like stone. I'm guessing his ability is defensive and by the way he was moving also made him move slower. This might be bad for Mina if she can't break through his defense.

Mina rushed in and threw three more punches towards his lower torso. All of them connecting and Lewis just standing there like nothing happened. Mina took a few steps back, dropping into a lower stance and closed her eyes bringing her right fist close to her waist. Noticing this Lewis started moving closer and started into a punching motion. As soon as he got close to her Minas eyes shot open and she threw a punch too fast for normal people to see. Her punch landed in Lewis's stomach and sounded like a boulder hitting the castle wall sending Lewis flying toward the wall where I was standing. I quickly moved out of the way looking at him as I did. Mina had blown through an inch of stone that was coating his body.

I leaned down to check on him. He was unconscious with blood leaking from his mouth. I motioned towards Anna, "He needs a healer.".

Anna made her way over and put up a barrier around him that looked like it was slowly healing Lewis. Leya announced, "The winner is maximina!".

Mina made her way toward the wall next to me and sat down. I leaned down, "You good? It looked pretty rough.".

She raised her fist up, "Yeah, all good. Scraped the hell out of my fist".

Her fist had most of the skin removed from her knuckles. Not long after Anna had set next to Lewis she moved over to Mina and used the same barrier to heal Mina's knuckles. The next two fights went by slowly but there strength wasn't anything to worry about. Finally Godefray stepped up and announced, "Josento Prail and Cara Black please step forward.".

Josento walked quickly up to his position and so did his opponent. Leya shot up a flare and Josento quickly ran toward Cara throwing lighting coated punches at her in quick succession. Cara dodged everything Josento threw at her. Josento stepped back looking extremely agitated and created a lightning lance in his hand and looked like he was charging it. He then lifted it above his head as it continued to grow and Cara started to tremble. The front of the lance had grown to be twice the size of Josento's head and he launched it at an unbelievable speed towards her. As soon as it made contact it dispersed over one of Anna's barriers. Cara surrendered and walked out of the colosseum. Godefray announced, "The winner is Josento!".

Leya continued, "Please move to the sides if you won your fights the rest of you please exit the colosseum."

Leya announced, "Rokuza Korizaguya and Aurelia Austin please step forward."

I ran to my position and waited for my opponent to get set. Aurelia took her place and Leya fired a flare. I started by running circles around her but as soon as I would stop she would look directly where I stood. She shouldn't be able to see me so how can she know where I am. If she can tell where I am, can she also dodge if I try to hit her. Throwing reasonable thought out the window I ran full speed and slammed my fist into her jaw. As soon as I stopped moving she flew at a terrifying speed towards the wall. Anna barely got a barrier up in time before impact and the barrier got buried into the wall.

Running over to help Aurelia I moved the ruble out of the way of Anna. Anna looked horrified, the impact had broken Aurelia's arm and the punch shattered her jaw. Anna quickly put up two healing barriers to try and fix the damage.

Godefray stepped forward, "Anna take her to the healer at the barracks.".

Leya announced, "The winner is Rokuza!".

The next two fights I spent my time worrying about Aurelia. I didn't mean to hurt her. I was just curious to see if she could dodge it. Mina stood next to me and just patted me on the shoulder. Leya announced, "The last fight of the day is Arrion Sayate and Oscar Bell please step forward.".

Arrion made his way to his position after his opponent was in place. Leya shot a flare and Arrion opened his coat and the air in the colosseum froze and little pieces of ice started falling. Looking at Arrion he started forming a full set of ice armor and hundreds of blades above his head. The amount of power Arrion was hiding is insane and I was going to have to fight him later in the tournament. Oscar surrendered before Arrion even moved and ran out of the colosseum. Godefray announced, "The winner is Arrion!".

He continued, "That concludes today's fights. The second round will start tomorrow at 10am. You are dismissed!."

I didn't stay to talk to anyone. I just made my way to the sullen crow and rested for a while.
