Life 1: Death Is Only Just The Beginning

"Damn, this question I don't get it..."

Trailed off a young man as he shook his black locks in frustration as suddenly the whole classes attention was pulled over by a group of females.

A group of females considered attractive by the social norm, as they strutted their way in with ice-cold elegance and hourglass figures, their skin dazzled with jade-like textures as they captivated each males heart upon first glance.

Instantly the males and females sitting on the auditorium seats began to gossip with rapid speed.

"Hey isn't that Shen Fei..."

"The one leading the pack..."

"Yeah, she's so pretty..."

"Isn't she the number one Spring Fairy in all of the campus, the campus belle?"

But soon this stopped as they wondered what this pretty freshman student was doing within the second year's classroom.

"I get that she's pretty an' all but why's she 'ere?"

After a while, the pack of females stopped as they seemingly stared at the people within the auditorium.

And the leader of the pack called Shen Fei had luscious black hair, jade-like skin, cherry lips and rosy cheeks.

As she stood in front and from behind her a fellow female asked in a whisper.

"So he's your fiancé, he seems quite dull and almost idle of sorts."

Asked the girl as Shen Fei turned her head towards the girl and said.

"I'D RATHER KILL MYSELF THAN BE WITH THAT PROCRASTINATING PIECE OF FECES!"

As Shen Fei said this she gave the girl a death glare and leaned in closer to finish her point.

"Listen one sentence could end it all for you, so keep quiet and be the obedient dog you are. Got that."

Ended the sentence as Shen Fei merely grinned a crocodile smile at the girl as she began to. feel uneasy and merely nodded as she moved desperately away.

As she said that Shen Fei headed towards the black-haired boy struggling with his work, as a subordinate of hers moved in front of his desk and tapped on his table.

"Knock!"

"Knock!"

Still, the boy carried on his work through trial and error as the beauty said.

"Hey, you... move I wanna sit there."

Said the girl indifferently as she looked at the boy with loathing and indifference.

Struggling to say anything he replied with, "Umm... There's plenty of seat around the classroom in the back... you could just sit there you know?"

Still, the girl insisted as she said once again, "But we want to sit here, stop hogging up the area you toad, you have eyes but fail to see Mount Tai, complete imbecile I tell you."

This time his resolve broke in half as he wondered whether to leave or stay, but someone from behind him also called for him to leave, and so did the other captivated males.

Seeing no choice but to go. The black-haired boy quickly grasped his textbook and notes before piling them together and holding them on his chest as he walked out.

As he walked out he brushed shoulders with Shen Fei as she said, "You really are just a coward... Hah, a man with no masculinity and aggression... it just goes to show you how cowardly you are..."

Ignoring this indifferently the black-haired boy merely quickened his steps as soon he was out of everyone's sight much to his relief.

"Hmph such a coward, and he couldn't even do these simple questions... it clearly shows he's entered with connections."

"I don't care about that as long as this little farce of an engagement is broken!"

Scowled Shen Fei as she watched the boy exit with his quickened steps in a myriad of emotions.

Once the black-haired boy made his way out he called for a cab as he silently whispered.

"Argh, I hate this, every day this humiliation it wasn't I who arranged the engagement but your damn family elders Shen Fei!!"

"*Sigh, oh forget she's right I'm a coward I can't do anything about this... Oh, f*CK it I'll just go check on Grandpa."

"Beep!"

"Beep!"

Came the sound as soon a cab appeared in front of him and wordlessly he entered with emotions raging within his mind.

-Half An Hour Later:-

"I wonder if Grandpa's feeling well today... I haven't been in a while I hope he doesn't scold me."

Said the youth as he paid the fare with a single swipe of his phone before getting out and heading to his residency.

Once in he found that his two paternal uncles were sitting on the settee as they calmly drank tea from their piping hot cups as steam rolled about like waves in the air.

Wordlessly he tried to head to his room, but his uncles had to say something about this.

His second uncle precisely called, Alvin Li as he said, "Oh what do we have here, Little Adam not even saying hello to his uncles I see."

"Adam have you forgotten your manners or something..."

Reprimanded Alvin Li as he merely went back to drinking his steaming cup of tea.

But opposite him was Adam's second uncle, a rough-looking man called Abel Li. As he whispered in such a quiet tone no one could hear him.

"Hah Alvin let him be soon he'll be mere dust, then no one will have the right to object my rules and then Father will 'give' me his inheritance part."

Though quite lengthy no one's ears picked up on this as Adam made his way upstairs.

There he saw his Grandfather rolling himself as he moved his wheelchair forward towards Adam.

Quickly Adam bent down to hold his Grandfather's hand as he said with resolve.

"Grandpa don't worry I got a few days off from school and we can do whatever you want in them days whaddya say."

Said Adam with the first genuine smile he'd formed in a while as he looked towards his experienced and aged grandfather as his hands were filled with wrinkles and skin so thin one could see his veins directly.

It was obvious that Adam's grandfather had already stepped one foot into the grave.

As Adam told him of countless stories and things he heard his grandfather merely nodded as he stared at Adam's face that seemed so much like his first son Cain Li.

"It's fine Adam, I'm tired now and old Grandpa can no longer handle the strain to wake up any more, you don't need to do this all the time, unlike my own offspring. Adam, you know you remind me exactly of what Cain your father looked like when he was a child."

"I can still remember when your grandmother, old Linda had given birth to Cain... I can remember the first day I had taken him to school... The first time he had found a job... the time when he fell In love with your mother... the time when he got married...

Your face brings up all these emotions within me as if I'm being haunted by my dead sons phantom."

-An Hour Later:-

Everyone was now at the dining room as discussions ripped through the room like a knife going through butter.

Each of his uncles was arguing constantly and their veins had popped up on their foreheads due to talks of leadership within the company once Chairman Jun Wang Li abdicates his position.

The chairman in question being Adam's grandfather and his uncle's father.

"No Abel, I deserve to take over the sales department you as well as I know that only I can truly bring this company to the global stage."

"No Alvin what happened last time when you gained a department..."

"Huh tell me, little Alvin!"

"...."

However, Alvin made no reply. As Abel snorted, "Exactly you ruined the department and all the deals, every sponsor demanded their funds back as it was a failed investment a failed venture on you... On your hands."

Hearing all this when their father was still alive Adam being the grandson felt disgusted as he wondered why his parents had left so early, he'd heard the saying that good people always died early.

Yet this pulled on his heartstrings as he felt punished he felt his parents being taken away was punishment planned by the universe to say you too will lead a short life. And recently he had begun agreeing with that statement.

He felt like he could be killed at any moment without a heads up at all. Oh, how right he was. Yet didn't know that the butterflies of death had already surrounded him from the skies.

As they looked down onto the boy with pity evident in their eyes.

As he wondered all this he leaned against the railing on his mansion roof as he observed the dazzling lights of the city with all their vibrant colours illuminating the city of the fragrant harbour as the skies seemingly dazzled the pearl that was the black dot upon this world.

"Aaahh!"

Exclaimed Adam as he took in the midnight darkness and absorbed the mood of the weather as he looked happily at the city he lived in.

"Such freedom, such a life... surely anyone in my position would love to have such a life... Yet without my parents, all this feels like additional plugins and dlcs, it was something I acquired yet I feel no joy in knowing of such that I have."

"Mom, dad you left too early and left me in this hellish world called the family business."

As he said this he clenched his fists at the stone railings as suddenly he heard some tapping on the ground behind him, and he saw it was Second Uncle known as Abel.

"Adam, missing your parents again?"

"*Sigh!"

Said Abel as he gently patted his nephews back and like a caring Guardian he said, "Adam. I noticed you didn't touch much of the food."

"Is it not to your liking or is something bothering you."

"No, it's fine Second Uncle why did you come here anyway?"

Said Adam as he continued looking at the city in front of him.

"Adam, you know that when we were all young father had decided to give the company to your father Big Brother Cain, but he just couldn't keep a business in check and he mixed his personal life with his work life too frequently."

"He couldn't do the job and in the end, I got the job, Adam I want you to not be like that I've raised you as my own for a decade. And I can see your emotions as if reading a book, you need to conceal them or else everyone'll read through you."

However, Adam was still unfazed as his gaze never left the neon lights of the city.

"*Sigh, I'm sorry for bringing up old topics Adam, I just want you to know one thing, Adam."

Still, he was unfazed by the words spoken by Abel as his gaze never moved from the skyscrapers in the distance as they refracted light.

Putting his hand closer to Adam's back Abel said, "Remember Adam, Men shall not reach the heights or peaks of their potential if they remain innocent and closed off if they don't take risks if they don't get their hands dirty. If they don't bathe in the blood of others and take away their resources and acquisitions ONE BY ONE!!"

Hearing such a dramatic difference in Abel's speech and the tightening grip on his spine Adam quickly turned as he struggled to move, but he was too late as he had been flung off the edge of the roof of the mansion.

"Boom!!"

"Bang!!"

Abel had pushed Adam off the edge as he stood watching his nephew fall to his death with a smile before saying, "Here's a little something from me Adam a little gift of reunification... I hope you successfully meet your parents in the otherworld."

Chuckled Abel as he went back in nonchalantly as if nothing happened.

And once he was inside again the security guards at the bottom sounded the alarm as cries of the young master's fall became echoed in this pitch-black darkness of evil and decay of the human hearts.

"Everyone Wake Up Young Master Li's fallen from the fourth floor..."

"Quick call the ambulance immediately..."

As the sirens echoed in this pitch-black treacherous day someone had just broken into the World of Darkness as a faint figure was chasing him from behind.

"Li Yan stop now, the Court of Heaven demands you pay for your crimes against all Immortal's and the Sabre Emperor..." Exclaimed the Sword Saint as he furiously roared at the assassin in front of him.

"Never...!!"

After that Li Yan showed the Sword Saint the middle finger before saying, "I hope you die soon!!"

And with another roar, he began somersaulting in the air at intense speeds such that the Sword Saint couldn't keep up with as the Assasin shouted, "Flying Sword!!"

As he headed straight to the gates of samsara in hopes of buying another few millennia off from the enforcers in the Sage Realm as well as from the Sword Saint.

Once there, he headed into a random hall of hell where he saw countless fluffs of white candy floss in front of him waiting apparently for their next reincarnation.

But the person in question didn't have time for that and he simply rushed past every single piece of candy floss, his speed was so fast in fact in no time he had arrived at the reincarnation gates.

With many different paths waiting in front - with no hesitation, the Assasin Li Yan jumped into the first gate he saw and "BOOOM!!"

The whole area experienced a flash of white light as the whole area soon regained its calmness. With nothing to do about the escapee soul who hadn't even registered his name with the Book of Life and Death.
