Transformation

So Ordos agreed to help me unlock my Spirito form in return for a permanent hundred percent discount on my somehow famous sushi.

But before we would do that, Ordos needed to suit up, and deliver sushi to his little sister.

The bakery that Ordos works at is actually a family bakery. So basically, he lives there.

Sahara dessert… I cringe as I see that because it's literally the desert on earth, the Sahara Desert!

We entered the bakery and there was a little girl sitting at the counter. She had cyan hair just like Ordos but her eyes were ocean blue.

"Brother, did you get it?"

"Yes of course Manami, here you go."

He handed Manami the sushi that I made, and Manami had a bright smile on her face. Then she noticed me and suddenly shied away.

"B-brother, who is he?"

"Oh him? He's my friend, Seiya. Don't worry he's harmless."

I have no recollection of me being his companion. Don't listen to him, he's crazy. I have no idea who this man is.

Even though Ordos introduced me as his friend, Manami still looked uncomfortable. Maybe it's because I look all gloomy. Do I have bags under my eyes?

"Oh, and I should mention that he is the one that's been making the sushi."

Suddenly Manami's face began to brighten. What a sudden change.

"Really! No way!"

She got off the counter and rushed up to me. Now that I noticed, she's almost the same height as me. Only 5 centimeters shorter. In about five months, she'll probably be taller than me.

Why must I be so short?

"Wow, your sushi is amazing. I've never tasted anything like it before."

Fuuu… I've been getting the same compliment from everyone that has eaten my cooking. Now I'm wondering if they are even putting feelings into their compliments. Not that I hate being praised or anything, it's just a bit bland to hear the same thing over and over again.

"Thank you, appreciate the compliment."

I said with a dull voice. Silence quickly filled the bakery. Ordos broke that silence.

"Well then, I am going to go up to my room and change."

And then Ordos headed up the stairs. Then silence filled the room once again. Manami walked over to the counter and sat down. She began to feast on sushi, and I decided to sit in one of the empty table seats. It's still a bit early so the bakery would be empty. Wonder how it's like when it's busy.

A few minutes passed and Ordos was done changing.

"You took your time, now let's go."

"Alright, I know the perfect place for us to go. Follow me."

Manami decided to open the door for us. Ordos said bye to his sister and then walked out the door. I would follow Ordos but when I did, my scarf suddenly got caught on the handle and it was yanked off my neck. I turned around and shook my head. This happened at the inn one night when I came back to the inn late.

As I bent down to retrieve my scarf, I suddenly heard a gasp.

"H-how did you get that scar?"

Manami pointed out as she had a horrified expression on her face.

Scar?

Then I realized that the scar I've been hiding this whole time had been completely exposed. It was complete daylight outside and my scar was completely visible to see.

I quickly threw my scarf around my neck and stuffed the hanging parts in my armor. Then I looked over at Manami and hovered a finger in front of my lips.

"Don't tell anyone what you just saw."

She quickly nodded. Was I too harsh when I said that? I don't know but now another secret of mine has been exposed.

I hope it was only Manami that saw it. It would be a hassle if everybody saw it. Wonder if Ordos...

Ordos was busy doing… whatever. So I'm guessing he didn't see it. Ordos turned around and a confused expression filled his face.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go."

We left the city and now we were in an open field. The green fields, the sun pouring on my skin, the blinding light I just can't handle.

Couldn't we have been somewhere where there is at least some shade? It just had to be in an open and exposed field. Oh well, not like it's going to hurt.

"Now then, this is a great place for you to learn."

"Finally. So, where do I start?"

"Well, can you tell me your Spirito first?"

"Yeah, it's a black dragon."

As soon as I said that, Ordos stood there stunned. Why does he look so surprised?

"Y-you got a dragon? A black dragon?"

"Yeah, what's the matter?"

"Oh nothing except that it's a 1 in a billion to get such a cool Spirito!"

"1 in a billion? Is it that rare? So is the princess' white phoenix also a 1 in a billion chance?"

"Huh? Well yeah of course. But to think you would also have such a rare Spirito."

"Whatever, who cares what Spirito I have. What I want is to know how to at least perform partial body transformation."

"Oh alright then. Now let's see, what part of your body do you want to try to transform first?"

"I want the wings first."

"Oh uhh, I'm not an expert in that field but I've heard that there will be a teacher at the academy that will teach you how to do that."

"So no wings."

"No wings."

Well that's a disappointment. Reality is often disappointing.

"Well I'm sorry to disappoint you."

"No it's alright. I must be rushing things too fast."

"Yeah."

Damn it, and I really wanted wings too. Oh well, guess I should start off easy. Wings might be a bit difficult if I need someone else to teach me how to get wings.

Wait a minute, then how did the princess get her wings? I asked this question to Ordos and he said he heard that he had her mother teach her how to achieve her wings. Her mother must've been very nice enough to teach her daughter how to summon her wings.

"So what do we start with?"

"Hmm, since you have a dragon, let's go with one of your arms first. It's much easier since you can focus your mana there easily. You know how to do that right?"

"Of course. But I have a question, did you do your tail first or hands first?"

"Of course I did my hands first. Doing the tail is difficult but not as difficult as getting wings. I tried getting wings but my attempt was useless."

"I don't think scorpions have wings."

"You think my Spirito is a scorpion?"

"Is it not?"

"No no, it's a manticore."

His hand began to change shapes and now it had sand-colored fur with claws as nails.

"…oh."

"Anyway, let's get started? First, you must imagine your Spirito, I believe you saw it with the energy reader."

Imagine a black dragon? That's easy, the image of that tiny black dragon has been etched into my mind.

"Now, just keep that image in your mind. Then focus your mana into either of your arms."

I'd concentrate my mana into my left arm. It began to give off a pinkish glow. Suddenly, instead of making a bright glow, my left forearm was completely wrapped in darkness. Then the darkness crumbled away like dust and my left arm was completely different. Instead of a human arm, it was now a dragon clawed hand with curled spikes coming out of the side of the forearm. It was mostly covered in black scales, my nails were completely black with a faint pinkish glow. There were a few parts that the scales were unable to cover and those parts glowed orchid.

"You did it! Now you can do that for all the other parts of your body. Your other arm and your legs."

"Hmm…"

I wonder how much my strength and my speed have been boosted. I'd slowly raise it up into the air. It started to give off a radiating glow. I would stare at the ground and then look at Ordos, telling him to get back.

"Huh? What are you going to-?"

KA-BOOM!!!

I smashed my transformed fist into the ground and an enormous crater was made. The shock wave that my attack caused knocked Ordos off his feet.

As I rose my hand from the ground, I did some quick boxing punches. I was able to perform about ten punches in a second.

"Power boost, check. Speed boost, check. Resistance…"

I took my ninjato out and struck my arm with my blade. It would bounce off the scales and I impact of the strike ran through the bones in my right arm.

"Check."

"Wow, that was… a pretty powerful punch."

"Agreed. Sometimes, I don't even know the roots of my own strength."

"Well, now that you can do that, try doing it with one of your legs. In order to return your arm into it's former, you just need to extract all the mana you have concentrated there back into your soul."

I'd do as he said and my arm returned to normal. My dragon hand turned into dried-up scales and fell onto the ground, then it turned into ashes.

Now let's see how my legs will look like. I'd do the same as I did with my arm. Circulating all my mana into my right leg. Same like my left arm, it was engulfed in darkness, and then my right leg was replaced with a clawed leg. It was more humanoid than beastial, but it still had the same features as my arms. Same black scales and protrusions with the same glow.

I kicked the air and I was able to kick the air five times in a second. Though it lacked more speed than my arms, it still made me pretty fast. Overall, it had the same amount of resistance but had more strength.

"This could do well."

"Good good, I've taught you well. Looks like I have no more to teach you."

"What about incomplete?"

"Huh? Well I don't know that yet."

"Do you at least know how it's supposed to be done?"

"Yeah kinda. You have to spread your mana through your arms and legs at the same time. But they both have to have exactly the same amount of required mana or else it won't work. I can't really balance my mana between my tail and my hand well. You're gonna hav-"

"Done."

"Huh?"

Ordos gaped as he stared at me. While he was busy talking, I was spreading mana through my body equally and balanced the amount of mana I had concentrated into my arms and my legs. Now both my arms and legs were transformed.

I looked at my legs and wondered how fast I can move now. I sprinted around the open field a few times and I must say I was much faster than I was when my legs were human.

"This should do."

"W… wow. You just perform incomplete body transformation in under a minute."

"Yeah, I mean, how difficult is it to circulate your mana through your body? It's pretty easy if you ask me."

"Oh, yeah, easy, right. Well… guess that's everything I have to teach you."

"Wai-"

"I-if you were going to ask me about how to do complete body transformation, I have no idea. Only those that have been able to achieve full-body transformation knows but for some reason they are unable to tell us."

"Hmm? That's a bit suspicious."

"Y-yeah it is. They said we had to figure it out ourselves."

"I see, guess that's everything then."

"Y-yeah."

Looks like I'll have to delay the full-body transformation for now.
