In kings landing

As our journey southward continued, our band of Northern misfits presented quite the spectacle.

Clad in furs and armor, with banners flying high and swords gleaming in the sunlight, we must have seemed like a traveling circus to the common folk we passed.

"Ah, the wonders of modern diplomacy," I mused to young Rickard Stark as we rode side by side.

"Who needs fancy letters and courtly manners when you can just show up on someone's doorstep with a horde of angry Northerners in tow?"

Rickard chuckled at my jest, the sound blending with the rhythmic clatter of our horses' hooves.

"Indeed, my lord," he replied, amusement in his voice. "Nothing quite like a good old-fashioned show of force to make a statement."

And so we rode, our spirits high and our resolve unyielding, until we reached the gates of King's Landing.

The bustling city sprawled out before us, its towering walls and bustling streets a stark contrast to the rugged beauty of the North but what stood out the most was the overwhelming smell of shit it.

"Now, remember, Rickard," I said, turning to the young Stark with a grin. "When we get in there, let me do the talking. I've got a way with words that tend to ruffle feathers."

Rickard nodded solemnly, his eyes wide with anticipation. "Understood, my lord. I'll follow your lead."

As we approached the Red Keep, the guards eyed us warily, their hands on their sword hilts.

"Halt, who goes there?" one of them called out, his voice gruff.

"We come on behalf of the North," I replied, my tone icy. "We seek an audience with the king."

The guards exchanged uncertain glances, and before they could respond, a familiar voice sounded behind them.

"What's all this then?"

We turned to see King Jaehaerys I Targaryen waddling towards us, his face flushed with excitement.

"Your Grace," I greeted with a respectful bow. "We've come to discuss a matter of great importance."

The king's eyes narrowed as he studied us. "And what might that be, my lord?"

Taking a deep breath, I prepared to explain, but before I could speak, Rickard stepped forward.

"Your Grace," Rickard began, his voice surprisingly confident. "This is Aurelius Fenris, the Ice Dragon of the North, the one-man army, the herald of death, the ancient being who fought alongside Brandon the Builder and bestowed the lands of the North to the Stark kings of old."

King Jaehaerys's eyes widened in disbelief, his expression a mixture of shock and confusion. "You... you're him?"

"Yes, Your Grace," Rickard confirmed proudly. "He's the one."

The king's shock was palpable as he processed the revelation. Finally, he spoke, his voice filled with wonder. "I... I had heard tales of your exploits, but I never imagined... an 8000-year-old being still walking among us."

With that surprising revelation sinking in, we followed King Jaehaerys I into the depths of the Red Keep, where the fate of the North would be discussed with newfound respect and curiosity.

As we entered the throne room, the atmosphere was charged with an air of reverence and awe. King Jaehaerys I led the way, his movements hesitant, almost reverent, in the presence of such an ancient being as Aurelius Fenris.

"Lord Fenris," the king began, his voice tinged with a newfound respect. "It is an honor to have you grace us with your presence. I must confess, I had not expected to meet one of such legendary stature in my lifetime."

Aurelius Fenris inclined his head graciously, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. "The honor is mine, Your Grace," he replied, his voice carrying the weight of centuries. "I assure you, the tales of my exploits are greatly exaggerated."

The king's eyes sparkled with curiosity, his mind undoubtedly racing with questions about the ancient being before him. "Forgive me for prying, Lord Fenris, but how is it that you still walk among us after all these years?"

Aurelius Fenris chuckled softly, a sound like the echo of distant thunder. "Ah, Your Grace, the secrets of my longevity are a tale for another time. Suffice it to say, I have seen much in my time, and I am here now to ensure the safety and prosperity of the North."

King Jaehaerys nodded solemnly, his respect for Aurelius Fenris growing with each passing moment. "Of course, my lord. You have my deepest gratitude for your service to the realm."

With that, the king turned his attention to the matter at hand, discussing the implications of Queen Alysanne's decision to gift the New Gift to the Night's Watch. As the conversation unfolded, Aurelius Fenris interjected with words of wisdom and insight, his centuries of experience proving invaluable in finding a solution that satisfied all parties involved.

And so, with diplomacy and tact, the crisis was averted, and the North's concerns were addressed. As we departed the throne room, King Jaehaerys I bid us farewell with a newfound sense of respect and admiration for Aurelius Fenris, the ancient being who walked among mortals once more.

As we made our way back to Winterfell, Rickard Stark couldn't help but marvel at the events that had transpired. "I never thought I'd see the day when the king would be shocked speechless," he said with a grin.

Aurelius Fenris chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Ah, the wonders of the North, my young friend. You never know what surprises await around every corner."
