Betrayed

"Commander, is it wise for us to journey north?" Jojo asked, racing beside Emma.

"I don't know. But first we need to confirm what's in the North before we decide." He paused for a moment and continued. "We're transported into this strange world by an unknown forces. We need to know what's going on before we can make any rational decision."

The team was quiet for a second before Mata's voiced echoed from behind. "I agree with the commander. This kind of forceful capture of earthlings is not new to the higher up in the Alpha continents. They kept everything under wrap. They knew what was going but decided not to release the news to the public." She said bitterly.

As a law enforcer and human right activist. She hates those selfish bastards to the core. But somehow she understood why they didn't announce the sudden disappearance of people and what forces were targeting earth.

"Humm, hmm. You're right, those powerful people and organization knew what is going on. That's why some of their children were under some gruesome training. They are preparing for this." Laka added.

"But what was this thing that is stopping us from doing what we want? Are being control?" Maya asked in a low voice.

An abrupt silence descended on the team. They sighed and straightened their head, focusing on the long never ending grass land. The grasses were greener than earth and the fresh air had something that makes it different from earth's air. One inhale calms the minds.

Emma looked at the notification and a sighed of relief escape from his mouth. His muscle was tensed since their journey toward north. He relaxed and commanded. "There is purple light at our north east. Let get there quickly."

The teams nodded and increased their speed. A tolling bell echoed throughout the plane. The booming voice reverberated. "5 minutes remaining."

The team was surprised at how quick the time has gone. Emma was the only person who didn't look surprised by the time. His gaze focused on the blinding purple light ahead. 'I hop we can acquire Alizda mark here.'

Before the purple light, a nasty battle was going on. Three different races were battling, throwing everything into the battle. Different type of blood was spilled on the grass. The battle was fiercer with cry of agony echoed now and then.

Emma and his team stared at the ongoing battle, conflicted. Is this where the unknown force was leading them? They were dejected.

They stared at Emma, waiting for his command. Emma was lost. He didn't know what to do. Time was going. If they join the battle, what is the probability of them winning the battle? And not wasting their limited time.

A woman with cat ear, leather armor and long spear in hand dashed toward the purple light. Instead of the purple light to reject her because of the ongoing battle. Nothing happened. The woman entered the light and picked a dark glowing crystal, hovering in the air.

Immediately, she picked the dark crystal. A series of notification appeared before the woman. Shortly, she beckon'd to her team. At once, other race like her stopped fighting and rushed her with an elated smile on their faces.

Emma and his teammates fixed their eyes on the cat race people. What is going to happen next? The two other races that lost the fight stared evilly at the cat race.

The woman with a dark crystal in hand held the crystal in one hand and stress out her other hand.

At once, when her teammates joined hands together, they disappeared into the purple light. Silence reign on the grassland. Everyone was staring at the fading purple light. Emma exhaled.

"Let go." He whispered.

Emma didn't care. He picked a direction and dashed forward. At the center of his helmet, a timer was blinking. Every second gone on the timer makes his skull tingled. A minute almost gone and they are with nothing.

The morale of the teams was down. No one uttered a word. Their heart was racing while their legs were racing. The grass diminished as they race forward. A couple of other race ran opposite of them with worry over their faces.

'Fuck this!'

"Zeus, release the eagle eyes."

A compartment opened behind Emma's suit and four tiny birds flew out. Their colour blended with the atmosphere and immediately they disappeared in four different directions. When the other team member saw this, their eyes widened. What the hell!

Introducing the drones, the team's thumping heart calmed down a bit. There is hope. Emma didn't utter a word. He continues to dash forward, looking for any traces of purple light.

'Are should not have listened to that stupid message. We should have fought it out with the Flamingrus race.' He berated himself in his heart.

Emma's face brightened. He looked at the direction of the purple light and dashed towards it. His teammates saw this and follow suit. No question asked. 'If we humans worked together, it would be easy to find out what is going in this Chaos world, he thought.

The tolling bell reverberated for a couple of seconds before going into silence. However, something was different this time around. The land vibrated, and the winds were in disarray. An ominous feeling spread throughout the plane.

Emma and his team didn't care about the sudden changes in the atmosphere. They rushed toward the direction of the purple light with their heart in their mouth. They were sweating inside out.

Ah! Ah!

"Help" A female human cried among the gruesome battle.

A cry of agony echoed a couple of meters from them. They saw the purple light, and they released a sigh of relief. They didn't care about the ongoing battle. Corpse spread everywhere with a thick stench of blood filling the air.

They saw a group of human fighting another race. They didn't dilly dally and banish their weapon, rushing into the fight. Jojo's sword glows and with one swing of her attack. She cut a man with a lizard tail in two.

The others weren't any worse than her. They finished their enemy with one swing, leaving Emma with no opponent to kill. He walked toward the lady leading the human team.

"It is nice to find another human on this forsaken world." Emma announced.

The woman stared at Emma was for a couple of seconds without uttering a word. "It is good to find a fellow human race." She said coldly. She turned and signal to her teammates.

15 of them fight for the Alizda mark and 7 was alive. The seven didn't bat an eye at Emma's teams as they rushed toward the purple light. Emma and his team chase after them, not minding their arrogance.

The woman took the dark crystal and stretch her hand. Her team member joined their hands in hers. But when Emma and his team wanted to join. An evil smile appeared on her.

They disappeared, leaving Emma, and his team hands hanging in the air. For a moment, no one retract their hand. They stared at the woman's spot, not believing what had just happen.
