61 Secret Talks

"From now, you have to stick to the story that we made up; I don't want a situation like we had with my daughter." Rick's voice was serious, and a bit too loud. He clearly didn't like that they told Alexa the truth.

"Sigh… we only have one free room, so Marcus you will take it. Mei, you will stay with Alexa." He could only give up; there wasn't much he can do to them either way.

"Marcus, what do you think?" Being finally left alone, Marcus and Xiao Mei could finally talk. Ever since the island, they were either apparated, or someone was with them. And with Rick doing something with his wife in the other room and Alexa preparing her room for Xiao Mei, they were able to talk.

"This world is… peaceful. It's so much different from our world. Over at the island, we relaxed, maybe a bit too much, and from what I saw there is no danger anywhere." Marcus felt relaxed as never before. Whenever he was in his world there was always danger, even in the safest place there was always a shadow of danger in his heart, he knew that he could die at any moment with a bit of bad luck.

The same way he killed the thugs in the Capital City that day.

"People here are weak; there are no spiritual beasts. If we would stay here, we could have a long peaceful life." Marcus said what he truly thought.

"But you still want to go back."

"The same way you want to go back 'Mei.'."

"…Right." This world may be nice, but this is not their world. And no matter what they want to go back.

"So what do we do about the council? We did agree with their proposition, but we shouldn't put all of our trust on them."

"The deal me made may be real, but a plan B is a must. But there is Professor Johnson; I think he will do his job well and will help us make a gate. He already has plans for it. But it will take a long time, by myself at least ten years. But with resources that the council can provide, I don't know, shorter than that."

"What is the plan B then? You trust that professor, but you said it we need a plan B." Xiao Mei wanted to go back as soon as possible. And the deal they made with the council couldn't be better for them. Not only did they established a good relationship with the leading power of this world, but also possibly help in building a gate.

"Plan B is simple, we practice, and then take what was promised to us. People here are weak; we can neutralize them as if they are puppies. With enough power, we can even take over this world." It is simple, with strength you can do anything. He won't go onto a massacre, but he is not afraid to fight them. And he will if he has to.

"I guess that's true. For now, we keep practicing and learn about this world. We should learn how to use ships, phones and things like this. That will be useful."

"Yup, I need to start exercising my body as well. I have a few ideas, but maybe there is something better here."

Finishing their talk Marcus went to the room he is supposed to stay in, and Xiao Mei to Alexa's room.

Alexa was a bit overwhelmed by the situation, but on the good side, she will have more time to spend with her father. She had a hard time believing at first, but seeing the fire on Mei's hand was a prof strong enough to convince anyone. At this point everything is believable.

For example, them eating for five people worth of food. Which what she saw when the breakfast was done. What was weird, that even with such speed they ate with so much grace. Truly extraordinary.

"When you two finish we will go buy a few things." And while his wife and daughter were focused on Marcus and Xiao Mei, he was making plans on where to take them. Rick wanted to the most efficient he can be. But the money won't be an issue anymore. This morning he found an envelope with a black credit card and a PIN for it. With this, he has almost infinite funds. Either way, he should only buy things for the two with it.

"Can I go as well?" Asked Alexa, it was summer, so there is no school. There is no reason for him to refuse, but… if she goes as well, it won't be quick. It will be a torture. He wanted to say no, but before he could open his mouth, his wife kicked him under the table. The message was clear.

"Yes sweetie, you can go with us." He can only suck it up and agree. And hearing his answer she grabbed Mei and pulled her out of the room, his wife took the empty dishes and started putting them into the dishwasher. There was only him and Marcus left, where Marcus was still eating his third portion.

"So… what do you think about our world?" Rick couldn't hold it and broke the silence.

"It's nice."

"Ugh… is there anything that you want in particular if there is something you can tell me now." Awkward... maybe he should've stayed silent.

"Ther is one thing. I need a way to strengthen my body. It has to be quick and reliable. I need to start practicing, or Mei will really kill me one day." Marcus shivered on just thought of that crazy woman going mad. He remembered when he first met her and how crazy she went there. That was hilarious. But now that she can beat him up any time she wants it… not funny anymore.

"Cant you use your power to fight her?" that made little since he remembered how he destroyed that robot, it ended up as if hit by a rocket.

"No… I don't want to kill her, and I don't believe she wants to kill me. We are friends, and if our powers come into the fight, one wrong move and someone will be dead. But when she goes mad… no one wants to experience it."

"Ok… I won't ask more." Rick then remembered that he has the black credit card in his wallet, and with a wide grin he looked at Marcus."You know, there is a good way for you to train."
