Chapter 11 : On his Island (1)

I gestures Sethar with my eyes to introduce herself to Delilah and she coughs a little to gather herself together. She introduce herself to the tall soldier and Embra order her to manage the transportation of the goods and bring his personal luggage to this car.

"Woo. It is chilly here. Come on. Get in the car." (Embra)

Embra get into the driver seat while Sethar and I take a seat at the back. The car is a little height, unlike the 'Bentley' we rode in Tokyo. We have to pull ourselves up with the handle at the door and the side of the car. The inside of the car is warm and it seems the engine is already on but, I couldn't even hear the sound of it. Is this also one of the best car in this world?

We have enough space at the back of the car. So, we can sit comfortably. Embra leans back towards us and tell that we have to wait a little for the soldiers to bring the goods from the plane. And, it seems we are all heading towards the same direction. While waiting, Embra bring out two tablet and gives us each to use. The tablet is big enough for me to see clearly and there is a handle on bath side of the tablet.

Embra said that he is giving us the tablets and we can do whatever we want with it but, he is not going to gives us a new one if this was damaged because this device is solely made to be used on this island. He warns is that other devices will not be even granted access to the network of this island. So, we can only use these tablets and the phone he gives in his house.

While I am using the tablet to read the latest news and Embra is searching whatever it is, in the front of the car, Sethar ask a question. It seems she has to gather quite a courage to ask him the question because her fingers are clenching in a tight fist on her lap.

"E-Embra, what is the model of this car?" (Sethar)

"Hm? Oya, I see you are hocked up on cars.. Well, this is also a lambo Urus. Here, let me show you." (Embra)

Embra took the tablet from Sethar and type something. Embra gives her the tablet back and she is reading it eagerly. It seems she enjoys reading light novel and now cars. I am glad that she is enjoying her time here. Well, for me, I haven't yet found another interesting thing beside watching Animes and reading Manga.

While reading news, I could not help but, hear the two's talk about this car. Embra is boasting about how he has modified this car to military grade and that it is nearly as strong as a presidential car or something. It seems it is also a customized version. He really is an unique man, isn't he? He don't like common things but, something he himself has customized or created.

Soon, Delilah knock on Embra's window and Embra ask her after lowering his car window.

"Everything finished? Put my laptop beside me." (Embra)

"Yes, Boss" (Delilah)

Delilah put Embra's handbag that contains his laptop and his personal devices on the right side of the seat where no one is sitting. Embra tells us that he will be departing now and make the engine sound louder. I think it is called ' Revving' or something. But, really, the engine sound angry or more like the groaning of a dragon. It sounds really heavy.

Embra started driving and he seems really happy and excited. But, wait. Wait a minute.. Where is he?

"Wait, Embra, there are only trees in front. Trees!!" (Keinnayi)

He is he driving? He is heading straight towards the trees. But, he is listening to us at all. Worries about danger makes Sethar go forward and get the steering wheel but, Embra has already get his hands off from the wheel and stopping Sethar. I notices that he is not even a bit worrying, no, he is even laughing out loud while holding Sethar's hand.

"Ahaha.. Relax. Relax. I am not going to suicide.. Ahaha" (Embra)

"Stop this instant. Ugh, why isn't this wheel turning? Ahh.." (Sethar)

That guy.. He is not even a bit scared. Oh dear, Sethar is going to unseal her power. I hurriedly stops Sethar by holding her hands and persuade her while looking at her eyes,

"Sethar, let's trust him. I am sure, he is not going to suicide himself." (Keinnayi)

" But..." (Sethar)

I shakes my head at Sethar who is still protesting and her strength lessen because of my words but, she is still leaning forward and hold Embra's hand. I think she is holding him so that he do not jump out of the car. Though I said her to trust in Embra, I myself is not sure of why he is heading to the forest. The trees are getting nearer and nearer. We are going to ... I shut my eyes out of fear and expecting a loud crush or something like that but, nothing of that come true. Moreover, I feel the road has become smoother.

What in the ... I would have doubt myself if not because I am seeing with my own eyes. We are driving on a smooth, wide road. The road extends to the horizon and there are even colorful trees beside the road. I see that Sethar is also as surprised and confused as I am because she is still holding onto Embra's shoulders while looking around. What is happening? Seriously.. what is.

"HAhaha. Look at yourselves. Oh. Good reaction. Hm. Hm. Anyway, Sethar, you can let go of me now. The wheel is locked and the road is smooth but, I wants to drive." (Embra)

Embra is softly petting Sethar's hands which are clenching on his shoulders but, as expected, Sethar has not loosen up but, rather, shakes him and ask him angrily,

"What are you doing? Want me to kill you? How dare you scare us like that? Lady Keinnayi is in her mortal form. What if she got hurt? Huh?" (Sethar)

She is right about me being a mortal now though. My body is a mortal body now and is vulnerable like a mortal too. It is right of her to angry at Embra and I would also have let out my anger at him but..., why am I not feeling anger? Why am I just setting it aside as a prank from Embra. I want to understand these feelings..

"Woah. Woah. Calm down. I will explain it. Ok? Calm down, Sethar-san. Please spare the live of this humble one." (Embra)

"Talk !!" (Sethar)

"Ugh. Really? *sigh* Do you guys remember when I said I possess the most advanced technology of the world? This is the one." (Embra)

Now that he said it, I remember him saying that. Was it in his house? Well, whatever, it seems Sethar seems to have remembers it and let Embra go to sit back in her seat. Embra cough a little and straighten his coat. He turn back towards us and says weakly while holding his own head,

"Ugh. I almost died. Oi. Don't resort to violence every time something dangerous happened. Ok. Please look around too." (Embra)

"Hmph. It is your fault. You didn't say a thing." (Sethar)

"Yes. You say nothing about it. And, you didn't enswer me when I ask about that river the plan is floating on." (Keinnayi)

I sided with Sethar in here and that makes Embra sigh in defeat. Yay. Finally, Embra explain us after fully turning his whole body towards us. Wait, is it alright to leave the car as it is? You don't have to do anything? Embra answers my worries while looking at me.

"Oh, don't worry about the car. I already sent signal to my subordinate to remote control this car. Nothing would happen." (Embra)

Did he read my mind? No, no, it is impossible. Well, let's listen to him.

"The technology you have seen just now is a kind of 'Hologram'. It is the most advanced technology in the whole world and to my knowledge, I am the only one who possess this technology. As you have see, this technology confuse the 'sight'. It can not only confuse human eyes and animal eyes, it can also confuse camera and satellite.

To the whole world, this island, literally do not exist. You can search it on G**gle maps and use other maps but, this island do not exist. It would not even appear on Satellite. That is why this island has another name of 'phantom island'. Though I name this island 'Rain', most people who live here call this 'Phantom island'. Well? Does this answer your question?" (Embra)

I see, so it is like illusion. So, that's how he hide the wide river that a plane could float and drive easily. Island that does not exist to the whole world? This guy.. Is this really necessary? I do not understand some of the words like 'Satellite' or whatnot but, it seems Sethar understand him. Based on her expression, she is impressed? Well, for a mortal, I admit that it is impressive. But, if it is someone who can feel aura of living beings like I and Sethar could, this island would be easily founded.

And, he said this can only confuse 'sight' but, what about hearing? Won't someone hear if he do something loud on this island? It seems Sethar also have the same questions as me because she ask Embra in my stead,

"What about sound? What if you do something loud? And, some one can see this island if he come closer, right? And, even if you can deceive technology, what if there are drawn maps?" (Sethar)

Embra eyes widen at Sethar's questions and he smiles. It seems he is impressed with Sethar. Well, that is understandable because she is a natural born combat genius. So, for her, who has trained her whole life on how to destroy an enemy and how to defend me, I am confident to say that there is no one in this mortal world who can rival her in war and tactics.
