The Undead

I left Anna's side and went back into the slave storage cave. I now went into the 'Relief' corridor. I followed the same procedure I did for the other 2 corridors, but no one came out. I couldn't even hear a sound.

Then, I went inside the corridor, and came across yet another chamber, just like the other 2 corridors had, only instead of having any people inside it, it had nothing in it. And I mean, nothing at all, not even any lights or torches.

I used Ignition on a small scale and tried to make sense of the blank space. It looked exactly like a cavern, about 15 feet tall, and 30 feet in diameter. The ground was quite rugged, unlike the even surfaces of the other 2 rooms. This chamber looked nothing like the others...

'Shit... maybe I should have spared someone of the guards to get information out of him... I don't wanna waste FP...', I regretted killing all of the guards. 'Maybe I can get a slave to talk?... nah, it would take too long to go there and-', I couldn't finish my thought, as I heard some clanking and groaning noises.

I instantly started overcharging my two defensive spells, Force Shield and Atmospheric barrier.

I sneaked into the blind spot of the entrance and waited patiently, while overcharging an Electrocute spell.

As soon as the spell was done overcharging, I could see a foot stepping into the chamber and immediately discharged the spell.

A blinding flash of light appeared. I let out a sigh and went back from the victims of the spell a bit, as I really didn't like the smell that spell creates.

but as soon as the spell's light dimmed, my legs almost gave out beneath me. The victims of my spell weren't humans... they were corpses. Moving corpses. 'ZOMBIES?!', I realized.

They were the zombified versions of the guards I killed. 'SHIT! what do I do?!', I panicked.

*SWOOSH!* *VOOMM!!!*

The swordsman's corpse swinged it's blade at me, hitting the barriers I set up. The zombie was wielding Aura! It wasn't as dense as the living swordsman, but that didn't matter. If that sword had even grazed me, I would have joined the zombies.

Also, my electrocute spell had almost no effect. It only staggered them a bit, and that was all. It made sense though, since all of the water in their bodies had already vaporized, they were now no longer effected by the spell.

'Shit!', I was helpless. While the swordsman zombie attacked me, the other zombies also jumped at me with force. The guards I killed using the icicles, were now using those things against me, after pulling them out of their necks.

This was insane! Completely insane! Zombies usually look so underwhelming and stupid in games and movies, but seeing a dead man, whom you killed yourself, now trying to kill you using your own weapon was downright traumatizing.

But I couldn't just wait and let my barriers take all their hits, the strength of my barriers were decreasing, and it would hardly last 30 more seconds.

I quickly started to overcharge the fire spell, Ignition, while praying that the spell would finish casting before the barriers go down, or else I would die!

After a painstakingly long and traumatizing 30 seconds, the spell activated and the barrier broke at the same time.

The flames were enough to blind me for a few seconds. after I opened my eyes again, all I could see was the sword and some light armor, along with a few things that resembled bone fragments.

The zombies were purged. I didn't have a sigh of relief this time though, as I knew that that wouldn't be the end of it.

I absorbed the dark mana that was coming out of the zombies and replenished my own mana. Now I feared what had become of the slaves inside. If those guys had bitten or killed the slaves inside, the whole cave would have been completely infested with zombies.

'I need to do more research with the undead... Who knows what might come back to haunt me...'

I recalled the dead men inside the carriage. I decided not to worry about them as I had locked the carriage door pretty tight.

I quickly ran outside the chamber and went into the sex slaves chamber. I half expected all of the women to have already turned into zombies.

What I saw was different from my expectations though. They were all fine. Well, physically fine, mentally maybe not so much. As soon as I turned back to go outside, a voice called out to me.

"h-help... me...", the voice belonged to a woman (Obviously).

I turned around and tried to locate the person who was calling for help. I located her within a few minutes.

She was human. Light orange hair, slender limbs and a decently healthy body. The first thing I noticed about her was, of course, her breasts. They were not as big as Anna's but they were still 'pleasing to the eye'.

"Was that you?", I asked in a cold tone.

"y-yes... please... you need to get me out of here! I have a family and I need to get back to them! I can't accept the fate that awaits me here!", she told me.

Unlike Anna's her tone wasn't nearly as broken. She wasn't even crying that much. Of course, she was crying, but comparing it to Anna would be like comparing the sea to an ocean, Where anna is the ocean.

If she was expecting sympathy, she was not going to be very happy. If she has something to offer, other than her body, I could consider saving her.

"I don't do free things. I am a sorcerer, I need the proper compensation for this.", I said in a cold tone.

The instant she heard the word 'Sorcerer', her facial expression changed. It went from despair, to fear, to happiness within a few moments.

"If you're a sorcerer, you can't use healing magic right? I work at the biggest potion shop in the city of Vierre as an alchemist. I can make you 10 top grade potions for free if you save me!", she said with a proud tone.

For someone who is completely naked in front of a stranger and is chained up, she sure is confident that she will win this deal... how amusing.

"Not enough. I need more.", I wanted to push my luck as far as I could, cause I knew an opportunity like this will not come to me again so easily.

She now once again had an expression of despair.

"W-What else... do you want...?", she asked in a fearful and shaky tone.

I would have loved to ask her to have sex with me, but that would be considered as r*pe back on earth. I didn't care much about it though, it's just that I don't think it will feel good to do it with an unwilling girl.

Also, the fight I had with the zombies had kicked me into 'ultra-cautious' mode. I was even more on guard than usual.

"Free top grade potions for a month.", I suggested.

"A MONTH?! DO YOU HAVE ANY-", I didn't let her finish her sentence. She was way too loud, so I put my palm over her mouth.

"Yes or no?", I asked her while looking straight into her eyes.

She kept staring into my eyes for a few seconds, with eyes full of shock. She then signaled me to let her mouth go and she took in a deep breath.

"20 days.... and.... I... I-I w-will.... I WILL SLEEP WITH YOU!", she said loudly. Her face turned beet-red.

"huh...?", was the only thing I could think of to say. 'What is this crazy chick saying?!'.

I SWEAR THIS ISN'T GONNA BE A HAREM, PLEASE JUST BEAR THROUGH IT!!! These are the only two women Xavier gets remotely close to. And that's an overstatement, since Xavier is a very reserved person. He will stay alone in most of the novel. Think of Anna and the alchemist as NPC shops.
