Bai You

"And finally, Bai You." The elder took another deep breath and looked at the veiled woman.

Everyone but Li Feng did.

For some reason, there was still a residual feeling that Li Feng had that forced him to look away from her.

As the veiled woman stepped forward, passing by Li Feng to go to the center, Li Feng felt a chill through his spine.

It wasn't from nervousness. It was from an actual cold, for some reason.

"Saint Physique, King Spirit."

When the elder said this, there was a unanimous silence. The disciples hesitated to even breathe.

Who wouldn't want to hear what would happen now?

"First Elder. Do you want to enter the Elder's hall, girl?" The first elder spoke. Interestingly enough, he spoke out of script, asking her for her opinion.

"Do not steal her away from me, First Elder. What will she do in a male filled hall? The Third Elder. Join our hall child. It is perfect for a girl like you." An old, raspy woman spoke.

Bai You paused for a second, looking up.

She didn't say anything, and the silence prolonged for a few more seconds.

"I greet the third elder as my teacher." She cupped her hands together.

"Forgive me for being unable to bow in front of others right now. I am not allowed to knowtow in front of people who are not my seniors." She silently said.

Her voice was crisp, yet silent. Everyone could hear it in the silence, but it was calm and soft.

Li Feng felt a cool, soothing feeling when he heard her speak.

"Good. Report to the Medicine Hall later." the third elder said.

As she said this, one by one, the elders who were standing above the disciples started disappearing into thin air one by one.

Li Feng could see that the three in the very front, the old man with the long beard- the first elder, the old man with the silver and dark gray hair- the second elder, and the old woman who had just spoken- the third elder, had left first.

And after that, the elders behind them started departing one by one, with a speed clearly too fast for Li Feng to see with his naked eyes.

"When will I become strong enough to at least see how fast they are traveling?" Li Feng wondered.

"Good then. There are four selected. Who would have thought. This is the most in a decade." The only elder who remained chuckled.

It was the outer sect elder who had announced all the names.

"The elders who have chosen disciples are nothing like me. They are the ten pillars of the sect, while the outer and inner sect elders are merely their helpers." The elder chuckled.

"Ah right! All this and I didn't introduce myself." The elder smiled and laughed.

"I am the Outer Sect Elder. Elder Jing. And whenever you have any problem in the outer sect, I will be the one to mediate." Elder Jing said.

"As you must have gathered by now, each of the ten elders are incharge of different parts of the sect."

"These parts are independent of the Outer and Inner divisions. While Outer and Inner sect divisions are important for regular disciples, those who are a part of the elders' factions can operate outside these divisions." Elder Jing said.

"There are three halls, Elders' Hall, Disciplinary Hall, and Medicine Hall. And subsequently, there are seven peaks- Mighty Sword Peak, Gentle Sword Peak, Swift Sword Peak, Fierce Sword Peak, Illusory Sword Peak, Elemental Sword Peak, and the Blood Sword Peak."

"Each of these peaks are operated by the fourth through tenth elders. And they all teach one of the seven swords of the Seven Sword Sect."

Li Feng paused before he raised his hand.

"What about the core sect? And if the seven peaks are the seven cornerstones of the Seven Sword Sect, then how will the others learn the skills of the sect?" He asked.

Elder Jing smiled as he shook his head.

"Everyone has access to the skills in the Treasury. There are levels of what is available to you and what is not. But you will be encouraged and given the opportunity to learn." Elder Jing laughed.

"And as for the Core Sect…. Everyone is told that it exists, but for all intents, you do not need to concern yourself with its existence." Elder Jing said.

"To enter the Core Sect, there are certain… requirements. Requirements that have been met by only a select few over the past few decades. So do not be optimistic about your chances to enter the Core Sect."

Li Feng furrowed his brows.

"Requirements? For what? Why would they tell us about the core sect if it was so impossible to get into?" He thought to himself.

"Good then. We should stop worrying about this and carry on. Those selected by the elders will go report to the respective areas once we get to the residencies and settle in." Elder Jing said.

"And before we leave and enter the Outer Sect properly, I shall be kind and give you a warning."

"You will all be ranked in the top one thousand of the Outer Sect as you enter the sect. However, that is subject to change. Most of you will drop. So the resources that are allocated to you right now are very, very precious in comparison to what you will get next month."

"So when the occasion arises, and it will, do not just give up the resources that you have. I would suggest trying to remain in your residency and assimilate with these resources before you leave." The elder sighed and said.

'"Of course, those who are headed to the elders' peaks and halls are different. You need to report immediately, and I wouldn't want to keep your new masters waiting."
