What was the toughest challenge I imposed on myself since reincarnating in this world?
Was it the recreation of High Speed Divine Words.
Nah that had been easy. I just needed to learn ancient greek and coptic.
Was it Legilimency?
If I was given a penny for everytime I invaded mama's mind I would have a fortune.
Was it primordial runes?
Actually there were mages in this world who knew primordial runes or their equivalent as rare as they might be. Mom just happened to be one of them, on the contrary, nagging her to teach me while trying to prove that I was responsible enough to use them without losing a limb had been the challenge.
Or was it recreating chaldean astrology from the bottom.
Now that would have been a challenge if it wasn't for the fact mom as a witch and seer and an avid practitioner of astrology and collected a lot of scripts dating back even before Alexander's conquest.
Or was it the creation of My reality marble?
Honestly practicing occlumency and the creation of a mind palace hadn't been too difficult. It was boring and tiresome but it wasn't too difficult. However, switching the outer reality with the inner world now that had been difficult. I actually needed mom's help on that and I was surprised that an alchemist in this world actually theorized something similar to the world egg theory.
It was called cosmic egg theory that tried to describe the universe and world as a whole followed by a lecture of the alchemical principle "As above, so below".
Regardless, alchemical principles to germinate my inner world egg and switching it with the outside world had been tough but not unattainable.
I was bragging at this point, wasn't I ?
Well the question had been rhetoric.
The greatest difficulty had been breeding a basilisk.
This damn frog won't keep sitting on top of a chicken egg. Okay if I was told to raise another man's baby I would probably refuse as well even if I was given plenty of books to read and a lot of food and money.
This damn frog simply won't sit on top of a chicken egg.
Maybe because it too realized what manner of unholy abomination I was trying to breed and it simply refused to bring such a calamity in the world.
Like hell I cared about its opinion.
I am having a basilisk as a familiar and that was final.
So I decided to conjure scotch tape and taped the toad's ass with the egg then proceeded to throw it on top of a magic circle that gathered mana from the leyline our island was situated upon.
You are allowed to go anywhere you want but you aren't allowed to take that egg off your ass.
So the frog for all its morbid horror became the first unwilling sacrifice to my experiment.
Does that make the frog an unwilling mother? No wait, it's male.
Does it make me a bad man for forcing the frog to bear a child that it didn't want.
…..
….
..
I will graciously use high speed divine words to remove that thought from my mind all together, for the sake of my sanity and all those who will read my saga in future.
Basically an unwilling father forced to bring a nightmarish creature upon the world.
Honestly If it willingly decided to comply and hatch the egg, I wouldn't have to resort to such drastic means. Serves you right…Hmph.
Honestly the ritual to make myself into a parselmouth had been surprisingly easy.
I dare say too easy for my liking.
I didn't accidentally end up summoning Asclepius as much as I wanted him to descend.
There is so much medicine and potion formula that guy could have shared.
Well not like they are charitable however if I facilitate his summoning may be ….
Nope that was a stupid idea, once I mentioned summoning a god of wisdom so that we may learn new magics mom nearly ripped my ear off then proceeded to give a lecture on why gods were too dangerous and how one should not provoke or summon them needlessly or at all.
Anyway I felt some change occurring in my vocal cords and around my brain.
Anyway now wait till the egg hatches.
Let's proceed with the creation of mystic eyes.
I was good at divination and reading the future through astrology and all. But those were not accurate at all. They only show bits and pieces of the future.
Hardly anything useful.
Now I am not a seer like mom who could read the memories of the void.
Only female descendents of mother earth goddesses could do that.
Mom said it was the manifestation of the feminine wisdom of foresight.
I call bullshit.
Solomon, Merlin and Gilgamesh would like to disagree.
Well barring Gilgamesh other two didn't have a divine lineage.
Sure they were born with clairvoyance but since when did I let such obstacles stop me.
If I remember well Ophelia Pharmsolone's family research artificially created one such mystic eye that not only observed possibilities, but allowed one to cull them as well.
This is going to be tough.
Not as tough as making the frog sit still on top of a chicken egg but still tough.
Maybe I could dangle this knowledge in front of a cute innocent mage girl in future and seduce her.
Huh, I don't know the temperament of mages of this world.
In the majority of the world mages are corrupt people who like dissecting others to see what makes them tick. Unless you are in a magical girl world one should approach mages with caution.
Honestly I am not sure in which world I am.
The magic system is a bit similar to toaru world, except there are no eldritch grimoires or tales of beings ascending to a magic god.
There was no mention of devils or such barring the ars goetia or the 72 angels who are categorized in a single cluster of being abrahamic deities. Not sure which world used such terminologies to categorize all sorts of mythical beings.
Honestly the system was a bit of a combination of the age of gods nasuverse magecraft and toaru.
There was no organization called clocktower or atlas.
That pretty much ruled out dxd, toaru, type moon or any of the more famous world lines that I know of.
However, that didn't stop me from being paranoid.
Nothing is stopping me from gaining a basilisk as a familiar.
As for continuing my lineage, that will have to wait
