18 Metropolis

Word's could not express just how pissed off he was. First it was the flash drive that was stolen and now this. Several of his operations were shut down in record time, it was absurd. In one moment he was raking in passive money from those established 'businesses' and in the next he learnt that they were all shut down in less than a day. Only Batman and the Red Hood had given him this much trouble in the past. So naturally he assumed either one was back in town to piss him off again.

But when he saw the security footage, he seethed. He stared at that blindfolded bastard through his monitor, who was in turn staring straight at the camera with stupid grin in his face while showing a peace sign. Black Mask could not quit remember if he was ever angry as he was right now.

"Piece of shit!" His right hand swiped at the expensive monitor, it flew to the side before harshly crashing into the wall. The screen of the monitor in fine pieces of glass. "I'll kill that little shit!" Various operations of his were in shambles, and some his men were behind bar's. The profit lost with those operations was no small amount.

And it was so much effort just to keep those territories of his stable whilst worrying about other crime bosses looking to take over and steal any of his property. But now the police had those places in tight surveillance. Reclaiming them would be no small task, but luckily there were alot of corrupt officers who were in the GCPD. He could pay some off, but that tactic would not work for every officer. But that did not matter for the time being, what matterd was reclaiming his territories. But that would take alot of time and money. And that's not mentioning the still missing flash drive that blindfolded bastard stole.

*KNOCK* *KNOCK*

A knock on the door caused him to scowl in irritation.

"Who the fuck is it?!"

"Uhm....boss, h-he's here." A shaky voice on the other end said.

"Well what the hell are you waiting for? Send him in already." The door was pushed open as heavy footsteps followed, Black Mask looked at the large man approaching his desk.

The man was extremely tall, coupled with that he had a clear muscular build. He was outfitted in a full body suit that was a pitch black in colour, with various pieces of armor covering his torso, arms, and legs, being coloured a deep red. The suit had a red star on the chest, representing something. He also wore a full face mask that obscured his features, only revealing his eyes. The mask was stylized in a black colour similar to his suit, with red lines running through his eye's. But what stood out most was his lack of an left arm, replaced with a silver cybernetic like prosthetic. Only said prosthetic was stylized into the front of a light machine gun.

KGBeast, though not as well known as someone like Deadshot or Deathstroke he was an accomplished and violent mercenary all the same. If anyone could maybe get the job done then it was him.

"You have job?" The imposing man spoke with broken English and a thick Russian accent.

"Yes I do. Take a seat." Black Mask spoke whilst gesturing to one of the cotton chairs infont of his desk.

"I stand. Be quick." The man bluntly stated, though for the time being Black Mask could care less.

(A/N: just a side note I'm writing KGBeasts way of speaking like this on purpose, to convey that broken English.)

"Fine then, you've heard about that hit I put out on someone, right?" He started as KGBeast merely nodded his head. It could be said that Black Mask did not need to go through the effort of talking to KGBeast but the man was too idle. He was doing nothing to kill the blindfolded piece of shit, hence this. "If you bring me that bastard alive, I'll pay you extra." Short and sweet, this was how these mercenaries liked it.

"I have watched prey, it is doable. I expect payment soon."

Music to his ear's.

"A pleasure doin' business with you."

Metropolis truly was one hell of a city, the complete opposite of Gotham City.

The skyline of Metropolis was dominated by tall skyscrapers, which were built in an art-deco or modernist style. Some of the more notable buildings include the Daily Planet, the LexCorp Tower, the Metropolis Museum of Natural History and the Siegel Building. The streets of the city were wide and busy with various modes of transportation, including buses, taxis, and cars. Everything was abuzz with activity, everywhere you would look; there would be something happening. Not to mention the sky gleamed with the intense sunlight. Contrary to Gothams almost permanent dark and gloomy atmosphere, Metropolis was the exact opposite.

*MUNCH*

Gojo giddily munched on a chocolate coverd donut as he ignored all the stares. He was more focused on paying attention to the divine object within his grasp. Taking a donut that was already perfect on its own and adding the best thing in the world, which was chocolate and you would get this divine nectar of the God's.

Metropolis really had some of the best sweets, he had sampled a bunch of stuff. Chocolate, ice cream, shortcake, pancakes, more cake and much more. Hell they even had a few Japanese sweet shops here, so he could go wild buying stuff like Mochi and Taiyaki. He would have liked to spare the desserts for when he went back to Gotham, but unfortunately his stomach was an endless pit when it came to sweets. So he devoured all the sweets in record time, a true shame. But a good enough reason to spend money. Sweets truly were the best thing to happen to this world.

He had been in the city for a small while now, he had payed a visit to that place Slade gave him the address to. It was some high-end hotel, and the room he got came with a free murder happy psycho. She had said some thing's about how her father would somehow notify him when he was back, but he did not ask for details on the job. Though Ravager probably was not to keen on talking to him for any longer than she needed to, but that was fine. The feeling was mutual.

But back to him exploring Metropolis, it was his first time visiting the city so why not make the most of it? Sure he was just munching on sweets but that was making the most of thing's, atleast to him. Though he had thought he would not be receiving all these stares. Sure seeing someone with bandages covering their eye's was strange. But you know what's stranger? An alien from outer space wearing blue tights and a cape. So it was surprising that he would even receive all these weird stares, but people were still people, he guessed.

Of course he could just wear his glasses to avoid the attention. But that's just the thing, without these bandages he attracted even more attention. You see poor Gojo walked through the street's with merely his glasses on at first, showing off his full God sculpted face to the world. And he was gawked at like some rare animal. Some girl's came up to him and asked for his photo like he was some celebrity.

Honestly that kind of attention was such a hassle. So for the masses he must cover this handsome mug so the world did not end. Truly, he was so kind. But having eye coverage had another important task besides helping with Six Eye's. He was so cool and mysterious now, atleast that's what he thinks. Because it would be so badass when he finally reveals his beautiful eye's to the world. Yes badass indeed.

*BOOM*

A loud explosion ripped through the air with a boom as the panicked screams of civilians reverberated through the air right after. Gojo watched on as some civilians ran from a specific spot, a car was suddenly launched into the air by someone or something. The falling vehicle threatened to crush a couple, so being the good Samaritan he was Gojo helped. Because he was so great.

Using Blue he created a point of attraction at the side of a building, it must have looked like an absurd sight to most. As the car that was threatening to crush the couple, it suddenly got pulled to the side by an unseen force. The car collided with an upper floor of a building, it broke through the windows with ease as it bent the metal structures of the building.

("Now who would be stupid enough to attack Metropolis?") Gojo mused as he leisurely approached the source of the chaos. ("This is.....unexpected.")

"BRING ME SUPERMAAAN!!!" He was dressed in a black unitard with a purple 'V' going down his chest. But that was not the most surprising or odd thing about this 'man'. His skin was radiating, no it practically glowing. It was an intense green that lit up the already bright area. "Superman! Bring me-gah!" The odd man held his head with both hands as he thrashed about while gritting his teeth.

"Interesting..." Gojo mutterd while studying something. The sight may have been invisible to other's but he could make out the thin waves of green emitting from this man, it spanned a couple of block's and coverd a large area. "Ah! I got it!" This was Kryptonite Man.

A scientist named K. Russell Abernathy, he recalled reading the comic some time ago that featured the man. He was working on an experiment to use Kryptonite to develop a new energy-source when it exploded and infused his body with Kryptonite radiation. This somehow resulted in him being transformed into a new Kryptonite Man who battled with Supergirl. A ridiculous story to say the least.

"Then where is Supergirl....damn that's bright." Spotting her was easy enough. He could 'see' her, she was like a beacon drowning everything else in an intense light. Even whilst coverd his Six Eye's could see that intense and bright solar energy stored within each of her cells, bubbling with energy waiting to be released. But said energy was gradually getting weaker and fading.

She was in Kryptonite Man's radiation field, even at the distance the effects were showing whilst she was rescuing some people who were either injured or stuck under broken debri courtesy of Kryptonite Man. But if this followed the original comic then Superman was currently powerless, was that why Slade was not worried about coming to Metropolis? Nah, if Supergirl was here then not much was changed.

Gojo shurgged as he turned to leave. He was not needed here, thing's were going to sort themselves out. Supergirl would save the day with no casualties and then she would beat Kryptonite Man despite the latter being made off her weakness. But that was just how thing's were, the hero's would always win in the end. Even in the darkest of stories the hero found a way to win eventually. It was almost amusing in its absurdity, but that was neither here not there.

"Mommy! Please wake up! Mommy!" The voice of a seemingly devastated little girl reached his ear's. Turning to the source of the yell, he spotted a young girl no older then nine or ten year's old. There was a women on the ground beside the kneeling girl. She was unconscious with a nasty wound on her forehead, with blood continuously pouring out.

("Something Supergirl will handle....right?") He looked at the far distance, Supergirl was making her way over here. Or she was trying to, her flying got slower and slower the closer she got eventually till her feet touched the ground and then she just ran this way, but she was still pretty far. ("Odd I don't recall Kryptonite Man even having this field of radiation radiating off of him in the first place.") Gojo frowned as the former scientist turned his attention to the screaming child, he trudged over to the girl with rageful expression.

"Bruh."

"M-mommy?" But the girl only stared on like a deer in headlights as she shook her mother's shoulder in a desperate attempt to wake her mother up. Because surely her mom could do something, right?

Kryptonite Man drew near, it was clear he was not in the right state of mind but that hardly matterd. Time seemed to slow down as he drew nearer and nearer

But then a something slammed into him. A powerful drop kick, the embodiment of sheer force and devastation. Time seemed to slowed down again as Gojo's legs connected solidly with Kryptonite Man's chest, an impactful collision that echoed throughout the vast expanse of the city. As Kryptonite Man's body was engulfed by the immense force of the drop kick, he emitted a gut-wrenching scream, blending with the tearing of wooden planks and shattering of glass.

The force had propelled him backwards, causing him to hurtle through the air like a human projectile. Though Gojo keenly followed his trajectory as he plowed through a ragged wall, a mix of debris and dust exploding in his wake. The building's structural integrity buckled under the impact. Chunks of crumbling concrete and crumbling plasters craft a surreal tableau in the aftermath of the cataclysmic event. Meanwhile, Gojo landed gracefully after the kick, absorbing the impact with cat-like agility. He continued following Kryptonite Man's trajectory, his eyes never leaving the enemy's tumbling body.

"Here twerp, see if you can do something about that." Gojo spoke as he reached into his pocket to pull out a roll of bandages. He was saving them for himself, though he did not really need them.

"W-who are you?" The girl asked as she awkwardly caught the bandages.

"No one important." He spoke as he clasped his hands together, disappearing from sight and leaving behind a grateful yet flabbergasted girl.

He was eager to ensure Kryptonite Man's defeat, Gojo leisurely moved through the chaos he created. He watched on as Kryptonite Man still crashed through a series of rooms, disintegrating walls like a human wrecking ball. With each impact, the building quaked and groaned, showing impending collapse. As Kryptonite Man finally came to an involuntary halt, he lied sprawled across the ruins of what was once the an office building. His unrecognizable figure lied motionless amidst the debris. He was unconscious.

"Oh come on! I even held back with that kick!" Gojo who was looking forward to a fight was distraught. His disappointed was immeasurable and his day was ruined. "Better bounce though, the skirts on her way." Gojo mutterd as he clasped his hands together, in the next instance he spawned on the roof of a building far away from the scene.

"Fweh! Got away."

But just then he heard a loud noise resound behind him, like a burst of immense speed.

"Who are you calling 'skirt?'"

Well shit.
