Welp, let's do this

"So let me get this straight...I got yeeted out of life because of a truck, which should be truck-kun, and am now in this... separate space/dimension, and you saw me, a soul not following the rules of reincarnation, and decided to make contact with me, am I correct so far?"

Asked the white, teardrop-shaped, slightly translucent entity towards the being in front of it. This being is a white all over, wearing what looked like a roman toga, with a face that didn't have any features other than a mouth and an outline of a nose.

"So far, yes."

"And seeing as I'm a unique soul, you wanted to give me a second chance in life, yeet me to YOU-knows-where, and watch me duke it out with the thing called life?"

"Basically, yes."

"All right, I'll do it. Yeet me."

"So, you agree? No special requests or anything?"

This wasn't exactly the first time this being did this. It already went and did this nearly a hundred times in a span of a few eons, as unique souls appear every now and then, and these are one of its greatest sources of entertainment. One time, he sent a soul to this planet that looks the same as its former planet, only that it had its morals in reverse. How the soul interacted with its kind there gave him a good amount of laugh and cringe at the same time, so that was his entertainment solved for at least a while.

"If you'll give it to me, then why not? Throughout my life, I've learned not to expect anything to a certain degree. Doing so helped me keep my expectations and disappointments to a manageable level. I have to say I am a bit excited though, at least I will be able to experience life and stuff again, with my memories intact."

"Sure. Souls that have their previous memories remain with them always dish out unexpected decisions, and these are more entertaining, to say the least. Alright, I shall give you a daily random gacha pull system. No interfaces, no stats, purely gacha."

"Ooh~, you had me at gacha. I'll gladly accept."

"Ok then, that will be all for now. I'll be sending you to a world where gods went down to the earth to live amongst humans, giving them their blessing in order to conquer the dungeons for fame and riches. You'll love it there. Well then, err..."

"Well, since this is a new life, I should go by a new name. Hmm...alright, from now on, I'll become known as 'Houki'.

"Very well, Houki, good luck, and do entertain me."

After that being finished speaking, a hole with a white, spiral ring around it opened beneath the entity, now known as Houki, where it then fell down.

With Houki gone, the hole closed up, and the being got into a seating position with a regal throne made of something that looks like marble rising from behind him.

"That one was interesting. Now then..."

A huge semi-transparent panel appears a few meters in front of the being. The panel then divided itself into several hundreds of squares, making a huge grid. Each square then started lighting up one by one, putting on view a variety of scenarios: A teenage young man wearing armor and carrying a sword, facing off against a huge bipedal creature; a girl handling two transparent compartments and mixing the contents together, and many more.

A bag of potato chips materialized in front of the being, to which he opened and grabbed a few chips and munched on them.

(Afternoon, in a forest near the port city of Melen)

*Groan* "Trees…a forest? Would've been more preferable if it were within a town or city, but whatever. Firstly, better get my bearings. Come to think of it, the being, err, ROB? Said that I have a daily random gacha pull. Can I use that now?"

[Ding! Daily gacha system activated. Will you use the daily gacha? (1) pull available.]

"Yes please. Anything will do."

[Ding! Congratulations, user has acquired: Random Summoning Token x1]

"A summoning token? Might as use it now, who knows how dangerous the world I am in right now is, I need all the help I can get. How do I use thi-ouch!"

Houki, while looking intently at the token, felt his finger getting pricked and dropped the token due to shock. He then saw that a needle had protruded from the token and had a smidge of his blood on it. The needle then slowly retracted back to the token, to which after, the token shone with a bright white light and started floating in front of Houki.

"I know I shouldn't be expecting too much, but…"

He then clenched his hands together and closed his eyes, as if he were praying.

"Free one's self from all thoughts and desires…I shall not ask for more, merely something to help protect thy self, soanythingbelowSSRshan'tbeaccepted, amen." (A/N: He said the last parts fast, so I wrote them without space, you get what I mean)

The light coming from the token only grew brighter as time went on, making Houki cover his eyes. And finally, a minute later, the light died down, revealing to him what he summoned.

"Nine!"

"Nine? Don't tell me…"

When Houki finally opened his eyes, what appeared before him was a creature he would be very familiar with: a pale blue coat of fur, being more flowing and wispier compared to their counterparts. Elegant with a gentle demeanor, what was in front of Houki was a Ninetails, the Alolan variety.

"W-well, looks like I got a very good one from the get-go, am I gonna be cursed with a long drought later?"

Scratching his left cheek with a wry smile on his face, Houki and the Alolan Ninetailes were staring at each other, the tails behind the pokemon swaying in different directions and tempos, looking very mystical with the ice powder trails being left behind as the tails moved.

(Are you my master?)

Hearing a female voice, Houki immediately darted his head left and right, looking for anything that may resemble where the voice might have come from, but after a few minutes of looking around, he wasn't able to get even a glimpse of where the voice could've come from, so the only other possibility would be…

Houki turned and faced the Alolan Ninetails in front of him, with a careless attitude, he then chuckled at himself.

"Haha, no way that came from you right? I know that Ninetails have strong psychic powers, but to be able to communicate telepathically, that would be…"

"Niiine~!"(Yes master, it was me indeed! I'd like to thank you for summoning me, so please allow me to accompany you!)

Looking again at the Ninetails in front of him, Houki had a flabbergasted look on his face at the moment. A Ninetails that is able to communicate with its thoughts, would mean that it's a very powerful one, or at least by the pokemonverse's standards. If it were there, the Ninetails would already be at the pseudo-legendary level, closely approaching legendary level ones.

(A/N: Though I don't have an accurate measurement of level scaling in pokemon, usually the psychic types that are able to communicate telepathically are the very strong ones, or the ones that have good control with their energy. But then again there were exceptions, such as the Ralts Max interacted with in the series, and some other ones I won't mention. And so, by the power vested in me, by me, I made it that the summoned Ninetails is powerful to a certain degree, allowing it to communicate telepathically. Case closed XD)

"Looks like I got more than I wished for huh? Glad to have you Ninetails, I'll be in your care from now on."

(Unn! But before that master, please give me a name!)

"A name huh, hmm…how does Sekki sound?"

(Sekki?)

"Un, Sekki means 'Snow Princess', it came to me as I was looking at your beautiful fur and tails."

(Eheheh, thank you master)

(A/N: No, Sekki will NOT be lewded, and that's final)

"Alright, with that done, I have no idea where to go. What do you think, Sekki?"

Hearing Houki, Sekki closed both her eyes, then, although he only noticed it slightly as it passed through him, Houki felt what should be a wave of energy, which in this case, should be mana/mind. Waiting for Sekki to finish what she was doing, Houki sat down on a large root of a tree nearby him. After a few minutes of waiting or so, Sekki finally opened her eyes and faced Houki.

(Master, after spreading my energy for a bit, I found a city that seems to be located near a huge body of water. It didn't seem to be deserted, and I sensed many energy signatures, some much larger compared to others.)

With the information Houki acquired from Sekki, he pondered for a moment before deciding that it would be better to enter the city than stay here where dangers are ever present. Not to say that there aren't any within the city, but it was relatively better than getting mauled by a wolf or something.

(Don't worry master, you can rest assured, Sekki will protect you from anything or anyone that wants to harm you!)

"Ahaha, how reliable, wow your fur is so soft and cool. Let's go then?"
