Third Person PoV

Quite a few years have gone by since the end of tge civil war and the devil society is slowly getting back on track. With Cain making sure that there is no faction play to slow down development. 

Even then making roads all around the underworld was a huge thing. Even with magic only a quarter of it has been completed. The common devils are still skeptical but they are gradually believing that the ruling devils are doing something for their sake.

Another that has been happening is the boom in the treasury of the Phenex clan. At first when Cain heard about it he ignored as them having a profitable time but as the money kept coming in he was forced to check.

He needed to know if the way if their earning was legal or not in devil terms. Lest they were smuggling some things like immortal peaches or Golden apples. But the answer was the phenex twins. Lord Phenex had two daughters Rayla and Layla.

Both if them didn't attend the last young devil gathering as they were only 8 at the time. But apparently they were very good at business. In fact after having Grayfia check it was shown that only Layla was responsible for the phenex clans boom in wealth.

The reason being Rayla was one the devils who accepted the competition orchestrated by Cain. Thus she was busy making money for a different thing. After asking Grayfia about why only one of them was in the competition he came to know that Layla had refused to participate not believing sketchy things.

The only thing Cain had in his mind was 'A pity that she lost such a good opportunity.'

The same day when Cain was sitting in his garden while eating a pie was suddenly interrupted by Melissa.

"What happened?"

"Lady Leviathan is calling for you my lord. In her office."

Cain frowned hearing that ordinarily Serafall will come herself and not ask him to come. Something serious must have come. Currently Grayfia was with Zeaira who was busy dealing with the Great king faction and trying to get the support of the common devils.

Cain told Melissa to tell them about his whereabouts if they asked and went to meet Serafall.

Cain was surprised when he saw the people inside Serafall's office. The three satans were inside making Cain think that the matter to be discussed was more important than he thought.

Just as Cain entered Ajuka asked 

"Now that Cain is here can you tell the reason for making all of us come here?"

Ajuka was cranky as he was forced to come here from his natural habitat aka his research room. Falbium was still sleeping on the chair while sitting. Seeing that Cain coughed a little making them both take this a bit more seriously.

After that Serafall said "Hades is acting up recently."

Hearing that Cain said "If he is just acting up there is no need for a emergency meeting like this."

But that next line Serafall said made even Falbium wide awake 

"Pluto attacked a devil group at the border."

"What?"

Falbium screamed, understandably as he was the one responsible for military yet he didn't know about this as it looked from his reaction.

Serafall explained "The entire group was killed and then Hades sent a message stating that this could be taken as a hostile approach. He said that the devils attacked Ploto first."

"Even if devils are arrogant I doubt they will attack a legendary grim reaper." Ajuka said with a serious tone.

But Cain was thinking it a different way. If the devils who attacked Pluto were from the GKF, then it will make a lot of sense. After all if Hades actually attacked the new satans will be responsible not their faction. 

Cain was infuriated, 'This fuckers dont even care if the entire devil race is nearing extinction. Only thinking for their own gain.'

Cain looked and said to Serafall 

"Go to Hades and offer him a truce for a 100 years. If he does it to 50 then also accept it."

Hearing that Serafall and the other two looked at Cain with astonishment.

"Who are you and what have you done with Cain?"

Cain ignored Serafall and said 

"Offer him 10,000 tons of gold. And before you guys say something the devil race isn't capable of war at this moment. The problem is that in terms of top tier powerhouses we have the advantage and I know i can beat the soul out of that skeleton bag but currently we cant afford another war."

Hearing that the other three agreed too. But now they had started the meeting Cain started to talk to them about other important things too.

"Falbium make sure that you are even more rigorous in selecting and training the military. And Serafall try to maintain a good relationship with the Shinto and Norse pantheons."

"Why? Shouldn't we try to improve our status with Olympus first."

"No it will be pointless. Hades dosen't like any races except gods that to, only the Olympus ones. And in the future we might end up completely destroying our relationship with the Greeks. On the other hand both the Shinto and Norse are much better. They are sensible and my future plans do not meddle with them too much."

Hearing that Ajuka said "What are your future plans and when will they start?"

"Well that depends upon how fast you complete your project to be fair."

"So you need that, huh."

Serafall was confused by the talking between Ajuka and Cain. Falbium didn't even try to understand. But after Ajuka told her that it was a surprise she stopped her questioning.

After some more idle talk the four of them went back to their respective homes.

Cain entered his room only to find Zeaira laying on her back reading a report. She was only wearing a black negligee which did little to hide her curves. Zeaira looked confused for a moment but them understood that I was talking about the financial competition. After that she said 

"Then isn't she useless? she isn't making money but killing her competitors."

Cain hearing that said 

"No Zeaira, what she is doing is the fastest way to gain money in this competition. It is not the best way but the fast way. All the money of her competitors is hers. After why should she work when the others will do it for her?"

Hearing that even Grayfia gave her thought on the matter.

"But isn't it better to end the competition then? From the way it is going she is going to create a big problem if her action come to light, death of multiple devil is not good especially after the civil war."

Cain said "Not my problem if she fails to prepare for the consequences of her plans that is not my worry. But still there are three more years till it is decided who the winner is. We can only speculate till then."

Hearing that both Grayfia and Zeaira agreed with him. After that Grayfia went back to her duties and Cain looked towards Zeaira and said 

"Wanna continue?"

Zeaira blushed but then looked at him seriously and said 

"Cain I need you to address your little harem as it may breakdown if you do not give enough attention to your maids."

Hearing that Cain said "Of course." 

And went after Grayfia to work on Zeaira's advice. Although what she didnt knew that after she passed out Cain went to his maids for continuing till his lust was sated. So in no way Cain's harem was about to break.
