The Profits Would Be Insane

"Lia?" Lin Ke hesitantly calls out.

"Mm?" Lia glances back at him with a sweet smile on her face. "What is it, Lin Ke?"

Hearing her melodic voice always calmed Lin Ke down. "Ok, so… What are the countries in this world?"

"Oh, right. Sorry for not explaining it. So, in this Lower Realm, there are 4 countries, the Mistfall Kingdom, which occupies the most territory, and is to the north. There is the Vristannia Empire, which is where we are right now. The Vristannia Empire has the second most land, and is on the east side of the continent." Lia began to explain as they approached the stairwell.

"Please show us your membership card, ma'am." The attendant standing in front of the doorway said coldly. She didn't sound like she was having a good day at all.

Lia brought out her card and quickly flashed it for them to see.

The moment the female attendant laid eyes on the card, her attitude shifted 180 degrees. She immediately straightened up, and her tone became ten times more respectful.

"Ah! I'm so sorry, esteemed guest! Please forgive me for my insolence. Please, go ahead." She bows, stepping aside to allow them up.

The woman feels a bead of sweat roll down her forehead. She had been so rude to such an important person! If that lady complained, she was dead for sure! The woman lightly slapped herself on the face. 'Focus, focus! Don't be rude just because they looked really young! Who knows which family they come from!' she said to herself.

As Lin Ke and Lia walked up the long stairs Lin Ke looked behind him at the bowing woman. Each time Lia took out that card, they all became extremely respectful. Just what was that card? Did Master Sal also give that to her?

"Lia? Where'd that card come from? Why does everyone act that way?" Lin Ke asks.

Lia looks at the card in her hand helplessly. "I don't know… The first time I visited the Artifact Hall in Origin City, the Branch Head gave this to me."

Lin Ke has no idea how to respond to that answer.

"Oh, let me continue explaining. There are 2 other countries, and they are the Mistillan Kingdom as well as the Cryptveil Kingdom. The Cryptveil Kingdom is on the southernmost part of the continent, whereas the Mistillan Kingdom is on the west. As you probably already know, Origin City was a neutral ground. The entirety of Origin City, and the entire hundred mile radius of the city is neutral grounds. For the most part, all four nations are at peace with each other. However, sometimes scuffles do break out between the different lands." Lia continues.

"Ahh." Lin Ke nods. He had gained a better understanding of this world already. This information really did match up with what Lily had told him earlier…

Finally, Lin Ke and Lia arrived at the second floor of the building. The second floor was a lot less crowded than the first, and there were no stalls set up around the place. In its place were pedestals, glass walls with items mounted on it, and other ways to display the treasures. Each of the artifacts were protected by a clear glass cover.

There were many different assortments of products on display, from weapons to spatial rings, to precious stones, to jewelry. Almost everything could be found here. Under every single item was a small description of the item, along with some background information.

"Hello, esteemed guests, may I know what you guys are looking for?" A man walks up to them and bows. The man is wearing a black suit with his longish hair neatly combed behind his ear. The man is quite tall, perhaps 6 feet 5 or so (around 190 something cm). The man was probably a half a head taller than Lin Ke.

"Thank you sir, but we aren't really looking for anything special, we are just looking around." Lia replies with her warm smile.

The man nods. "Alright then. If you guys have any issues or need anything, feel free to ask any of the attendants around here. We will assist you to the best of our abilities. Also, if you wish to purchase one of the things here, you will also have to ask an attendant to help you." The man explains before moving away to assist others.

After the man left, Lin Ke and Lia began to walk around the area. There were countless cool swords and long bows along with other objects that drew Lin Ke's interests a little. In all honesty, Lin Ke wanted to buy the swords that were being sold here. They were each expertly crafted, and their blades glinted in the white light.

Lin Ke loved swords. There wasn't a specific reasoning behind this, but Lin Ke always thought that they looked extremely cool. However, in this world, it didn't matter that the sword 'looked cool'. What mattered was that it was strong, well-made, and was high enough tiered. It didn't matter that a sword was 'cool'. If it broke the moment an opponent hit it, then Lin Ke would be as good as dead.

Thankfully however, this world wasn't completely lawless, and the places Lin Ke has gone to thus far were all big cities with laws in place. However, the place he was going next wouldn't be the same.

Lin Ke understood the principles behind this world. The strong preyed on the weak, and all the weak could do was become the stepping stones of the powerful. He understood this even more clearly after hearing about what Lia's family had gone through.

After walking around the area, Lin Ke didn't find anything that just screamed buy. To be honest, if he really wanted to buy something, he could just go look for Lily. Although Lin Ke didn't want to admit it, Lily's products were extremely high quality and well made. They were even relatively cheap in comparison to this place. Earlier, Lin Ke had walked past a section of the floor dedicated to arts, with a few different art supplies on display. Of course, these weren't normal ones, but each of them had some sort of history or were of unquestionable quality.

However, they all paled in comparison to what Lily provided Lin Ke. They paled greatly, and were much, MUCH more expensive.

For example, one of the canvases they were selling went for around 2 Mid-grade Chaos Stones. The description said it was the same type of canvas used by A-class painter Titlilus Vladimus.

This, of course, gave Lin Ke a great idea. What if… he took the products Lily sold him… for that small price… and resold it for higher…? The profit he could make off of that would be insane!
