Burnt To the Ground

The sun was beginning to set as Lin Ke and Lia arrived back in front of the Quinn estate. They were escorted by Mildred, who bowed to them at the door. As Lia was about to push the door open, she turned back to Mildred before saying. "Miss Mildred, you can come with us. Even if you don't have much longer in the world, we can find some way to prolong that. Definitely!"

Mildred smiled before rubbing Lia's head affectionately. "Silly child, there's no saving me now. I was a special grade artwork created by Master Sal. It was a miracle I was even able to hold on for this much longer after he passed away. If this had been an Upper realm, I would have probably disappeared much faster due to the higher consumption of my True Energy."
