A Luxurious Dinner

The dining room was quite extravagantly decorated, with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. The walls were decked out with all sorts of paintings, artworks, and curtains. There was only one table in the room, a long rectangular table made of polished brown wood with a long velvet tablecloth covering the top. Despite such a table, there were only 2 people sitting at the table, one sitting at the head of the table, and one sitting besides him. When he walked into the room, both of them turned to look at him.

"Ah, Lin Ke! Take a seat, take a seat. We were waiting for you." Master Sal looks at him from across the table. He points to the unoccupied seat to his right.

"Lin Ke!" Lia's voice sounded a little high pitched, but then instantly locked her eyes on the still sleeping Lily. She darted her eyes between Lin Ke and the cat, her large beautiful eyes seemingly hypnotizing Lin Ke into doing what she wanted. Without any way to say no, and knowing full well what Lia wanted, Lin Ke could only sigh and walk over to Lia's chair and hand her the cat.

Afterwards, Lin Ke sat down in the chair Master Sal had gestured to only to realize something. In shock, Lin Ke noticed that the tableware here had a sort of energy radiating from them… 'Wait… Is this? Chaos Stones?' That's right, the tableware was made out of Chaos Stones themselves. The plates, the glasses, the spoons, the knives. Everything in this room just gave off a feeling of luxury which, in a way, showed off the power and wealth of the Quinns. But, after all of this, both Master Sal and Lia were extraordinarily humble and kind, which was also quite rare among elites. This only made Lin Ke's opinions of them higher.

"I apologize for you guys having to wait for me. I had fallen asleep earlier due everything that had happened today." Lin Ke apologetically said. He was sincerely sorry for them having to wait for him, after all, he was the guest in the household, and there was no reason for them to have to wait to have dinner with him, but they still chose to do so.

"No, no! It's no problem. It wouldn't be proper etiquette if we were to start eating without our guest." Master Sal replies. He then calls out, "Bring out the dishes please.."

A man in a chef's hat pushes out a metal cart with quite a few dishes on it. After laying them out on the table, he removes the lid from them, and one by one, introduces each dish.

"This is a Ribeye Steak made using meat from an Adult Flarecow, who's fighting abilities match up to a Peak Heart-Tempering Realm cultivator. It's meat is exceptionally tender and can aid in solidifying your cultivation base." He points to another dish, "This is a Skylake Lobster, cooked using an exceptional method created by a genius about a hundred years ago. It was first boiled with an assortment of herbs, and then pan-seared with many other precious ingredients."

The more dishes the chef introduced, the more surprised Lin Ke was. There were so many similarities between Earth and this one. Even the dishes were similar in appearance and some even the name was the same! How interesting…

After laying out the dishes, the chef pulled out a bottle of dark red wine. He popped the cork and poured it's contents out into Master Sal's glass. The chef then bows, and leaves, leaving the bottle of expensive looking wine on the table.

"Well, then, let's eat!" Master Sal said, and began to dig in, taking what he wanted to eat without any hesitation. He took a large gulp of his wine and gave a satisfied sigh. Master Sal turned to Lin Ke, "Want some?" He asked while holding the bottle.

Lin Ke was speechless. 'What kind of responsible adult offers an underaged person wine? Clearly, he's looking to get arrested by the authorities.' But then again, this world had drastically different rules probably, so perhaps drinking laws were the same. Nevertheless, Lin Ke declines. "Err. No thanks, I'm not old enough to drink yet."

Master Sal looks at his as if he was stupid. "Huh? Is this some kind of tradition your family follows? I started drinking when I was 15!"

Lin Ke didn't know how to respond.

"Well, if you don't want to try, that's fine, just dig in! Don't hold back. Our chef spent a lot of effort cooking these dishes!"

Lin Ke nods and without any further ado, he began eating.

As they ate, Master Sal and Lin Ke discussed some inconsequential topics in a polite manner. Lia didn't really participate in the discussion, as she was still too busy fondling the cat. The surprising thing to Lin Ke was that Lily slept through the entirety of Lia's rubbing. Or maybe Lily was already awake, but just didn't want to interact with Lia. Slowly, all the dishes were cleared out, and the chef came back with a few desserts.

There was (surprise surprise) Ice cream. It looked almost exactly as it had on Earth, looking extremely tantalizing and tasty. Almost immediately after the Chef brought it out, Lily woke up. It was quite the coincidence, in fact. As everyone began to spoon bits of ice cream into their mouth, Lily looked at Lin Ke with puppy eyes. At Lily's staring, Lin Ke was uncomfortable with continuing to eat, so instead he tried to trade with her.

"If I let you have mine, you have to let me read the newest volume of Two Holes each time it comes out!" He said mentally.

Without any hesitation, the cat yelled, "Deal!" and immediately leaped out of Lia's lap and in front of Lin Ke's ice cream. She then grabbed it and dragged it far away from Lin Ke, as if she was afraid he would steal it back.

This scene makes Lia giggle, and even Master Sal has an amused expression on his face.

"Hahaha! The kitty also wants some sweet food!" Master Sal roars. His face was a little red, and clearly he was a little drunk. "Lin Ke, if you want another one, I can ask the chef to get you another one."

Lin Ke waves his hand, "No, it's fine, I was pretty full anyways, there's no need to do that for me."

"Alrighty then." Master Sal didn't push the issue either. "Besides that, there's something I want to ask you." Master Sal's tone turned serious.

"Sure, if it's something I can answer, I will do so to the greatest extent."

Master Sal's expression turns dead serious, his eyes become focused on Lin Ke. "Where did you get that Semi-divine Artifact you used earlier today."
