Tiryns

Tiryns, birthplace of Perseus, residence of Eurystheus, built by the cyclopes long ago, truly it was a magnificent sight. Staring up at the tower where the Gorgon Slayer had been born, Art wondered what else the place had been used for besides Acrisius locking his daughter Danae up in there. Had Perseus used it for anything? Did Eurystheus use it for anything? Had any other monarchs in the history of Argolis used this tower at all?

After being introduced by Thebe to her father Pandion and stepmother Melia in the throne room, Art bowed while Timaeus asked: "Is Heracles here in Tiryns?" Art found that a bit blunt, but he supposed it was a question to ask.

Chuckling, Pandion answered: "No, Eurystheus sent him to retrieve there of the Golden Apples from the Garden of the Hesperides for his eleventh labour."

"What are these labours for?" inquired Art, wondering why a hero such as Heracles would be sent on such missions.

"He slew all three of his sons and two of his nephews." Replied Melia.

To say that the Young Gael was shocked would be an understatement. With wide eyes and mouth hanging open, he backed away. All his sons and two of his nephews? "Is this what you call a hero here in Achaea? Had the Gorgon Slayer Perseus done anything such as this before he went off and slew Medusa?"

Holding a finger to her lips, Thebe shushed Art and said: "Eurystheus will hear you!"

"Then let him!" exclaimed Art and sure enough, the King of Argolis did appear.
