14 Chapter 15
THE NEXT MORNING:
as Arslan and his men were preparing to leave for the Eyrie, Arya comes to him.
Arya: thank you for what you did yesterday.
Arslan: yes it's alright, and I actually have a present for you.
Arya: really?
Arslan: yes.
he then turns to one of his soldiers.
Arslan: bring it.
the soldier nods and goes inside the building, only to come out followed by Nymeria.
Arya looks surprised at her Direwolf for a second before she rushes and hugs her.
Arya: Nymeria, you're back.
she said crying.
Arslan: did you ask your father's permission to go with me to the eyrie?
Arslan asks, cutting their little reunion short.
Arya gets up and looks at Arslan.
Arya: yes, he agreed and I quote 'Starks don't do well in the south, it's better if you stay with your cousin'.
Arslan just smiles.
Arslan: well get ready, we are going now.
15 MINUTES LATER:
just as Arslan mounts his horse with his men behind him in rows of two, and Arya to his side on her own horse, the king and Ned come out to send him off.
he looks at the king, and just nods at him to get a not back, he then turns to Ned.
Ned: please take care of my daughter.
Ned says.
Arslan: don't worry.
Ned nods, and Arslan starts galloping away with Arya and his men.
HALFWAY TROUGH TO THE BLOODY GATE:
Arslan: so what sword style do you want to learn?
Arslan asks Arya.
Arya: I don't know, what do you suggest?
Arslan: I would say water dancing would be good for you.
Arya: Why so?
Arslan: because...
before Arslan could answer he gets a message from Azreal that says [come quickly, the bloody gate is being attacked by some kind of flying beasts]
Arslan: [WHAT??! WHAT KIND OF BEASTS??]
Azreal: [it like a combination of a ferocious cat and a giant bird ]
Arslan: [fuck that's a griffin, how is the situation?]
Azreal: [no soldiers are dead yet, however, half of them are already injured, it look like they are intentionally not hitting vital parts, that's why the soldiers are still holding on, it seems they intend on eating them alive after the battle](i know there is no such thing in the game, but now there is.)
Arslan: [how much griffins are there?]
Azreal: [a lot and they are still coming]
Arslan then turns around to his guards.
Arslan: SWORDSMEN STAY AND PROTECT ARYA, ARCHERS FOLLOW ME.
and he starts galloping away followed by his 70 archers, while Arya still looks at him confused by this sudden turn of events.
after riding for a while Arslan finally notices some griffins in the sky, but he just keeps galloping through the valley.
IN THE BLOODY GATE:
the sky is filled with hundreds upon hundreds of giant birds.
there were only a few soldiers and the knight of the gate that are still able to fight, its more like swing their swords at the sky trying to get a hit by luck tho.
the knight of the gate looks at his men, that are falling one by one, he then looks at the only horse that was not able to run yet, he has the chance to run away and save his life, however, he decided that he will die before letting the bloody gate to fall for the first time under his watch, so he picks out his sword and waits for a chance to get a hit, at that moment he notices one of the flying beasts coming down at him, 'yes, yes come, although I will die you will be coming with me, I will definitely take you'.
the flying beast comes down at him, pins him down, and after checking that every human has fallen and that it is finally time to eat, it looks down at the eyes of the human under it, instead of the despair it expected, what it saw was a smirk it suddenly felt a cold pain on its belly, it looks down only to see that the man's sword was halfway through its body, it closes its eyes and succumbs to death.
the knight of the gate then pushes the beast to the side and gets up.
the knight of the gate: one down, hundreds to go.
but now what? he can't use bows, they tried and it didn't work, he can't use the same trick again, what now?
"SWOOSH"
he hears the sound of an arrow cutting through the air, and suddenly one of the beasts falls to the ground.
just as he wore a surprised expression, he sees tens of arrows cutting through the air, and with every arrow, one beast falls.
he looks down and he sees the silver knights, the lord's guards, riding in the valley while shooting arrows, and they were led by the lord of the vale himself, they were shooting at a shocking speed of 7 arrows every 10 seconds, and as if that was not enough they were still on horseback.
a minute later, the sky was clear again, but the ground was filled with corpses.
as he gave a breath of relief, he lost consciousness.
Arslan then sent a message to the eyrie about the injured soldiers and to send help in transporting the beasts.
he then waited for Arya and the rest of his men while helping the soldiers he can.
30 minutes later Arya finally reached him.
she dismounted from her horse while looking around.
Arya: What in the seven hells happened here??
Arslan looked at her and said.
Arslan: some little birds decided to attack the bloody gate, but they just colored the gate with their blood.
Arya: but why are there so many of them, and how have they stayed hidden till now with these numbers?
Arslan: I don't know, but they better be edible cuz I'm really hungry right now and this much meat may be about enough to satisfy me.
Arya just smiles at his desperate try to lighten the mood.
Arya: how many men died?
Arslan: non, but there are many severely injured men, it seems the birds wanted to eat them alive, we are going to the eyrie now.
he says as he mounts his horse and so does Arya and his men.
they then ride to the eyrie.
after reaching the eyrie he called for all the houses under house Arryn.
as he was sitting in the meeting room which looks a little like the king's small council, sitting with him on the table are 'Lord Yohn Royce' of 'House Royce', and 'Lady Anya Waynwood' of 'House Waynwood', and 'Lord Lyonel Corbray' of 'House Corbray', and 'Lord Jon Lynderly' of 'House Lynderly', and 'Lord Eon Hunter' of 'House Hunter', and 'Lord Jon Egen' of 'House Egen'.
Arslan: I presume you all know what I called you here for?
Lord Yohn: indeed my lord, we have got the news that a large number of flying beasts attacked the bloody gate and that it almost fell before you came and saved it.
Lady Anya: it would've been a great dishonor if the bloody gate that stayed standing for a thousand years fell to a group of unknown birds.
Arslan: indeed, we have never seen such things before, their advantage is that they can fight flying and arrows don't work on them.
Lord Lyonel Corbray: but we were told that you shot them down with arrows, is that not the case?
Lord Jon Lynderly: did you forget how he trained his men?
Lord Lyonel Corbray had a look of understanding.
Arslan: well these birds are not the only beasts I encountered in my journey.
Lord Eon Hunter: what do you mean my lord, there are other beasts like these??
Arslan: yes, in Winterfell we met a beast I call a Werewolf.
he said as he turned to one of his silver knights in the room and nodded. ( i will call every soldier by his group name from now on since I will be creating other groups )
the silver knight then went and opened the door, for four silver knights to enter carrying the werewolf with ease.
the Lords all looked at the creature with horrified eyes.
they then turn to Arslan's smiling face, smiling at their expressions.
Arslan: this guy is very fast and very strong, just one of them can destroy villages.
the lords' expressions deepened.
before anyone can say anything he continued...
Arslan: and on the way back we were attacked by what I call berserker.
the silver knights then bought the bear inside.
Lord Jon Egen: why is it so big?
Arslan: this one's defense is impenetrable, it was stabbed with swords and spears and arrows, but nothing, nothing could penetrate its defense, even Jame Lannister would be dead under its claws have I not saved him.
Lady Anya Waynwood: and how was it killed?
Arslan: I fought it.
Lady Anya Waynwood: yes that explains it.
Lord Lyonel Corbray: and why do you call it "Berserker"
Arslan: well when we encountered it, it looked like it was in a rage,
the lords just nod.
Lord Yohn Royce: and what are we going to do about this, what if they attacked again and you were not there?
Arslan: that is what I wanted to talk about, I will create a new order, it will have 30000 men, it will be called "the order of the Falcon", this order will have five divisions, the first will be called, "the Wings of the Falcon", they will have 500 men, they will be divided into groups of 5, their mission is to find where the monsters are coming from, the second will be called "the Falcon Reapers", they will have 5000 men, they will be divided into groups of 10 in case there are large numbers of enemies, their mission is to exterminate any monsters reported even outside of the Vale at least until we find where they are coming from, the third will be called "Falcon Knights", they will have 10000 men, they only have one mission, protecting the Vale, the fourth will be called "the Coming Dawn- Falcons", they will have 15000 men in case they needed to go to multiple places at once, they will act as reinforcements in times of need, they will assist all the other divisions, every one of these devisions will have a commander, they will report to me only, the fifth division is my silver knights, their name will change to "The 300 Eternal Protectors of The Falcon", i will add 100 more men to them, and i want the recruiting to begin tomorrow, am i understood?
they all nod at me.
Lord Yohn Royce: my lord, this will be very costly and it will bring us no money.
Arslan: actually it will, it seems that even if it doesn't look like it, the meat of the birds that I call a griffin is edible and is actually very delicious, we can sell and stock it, and we can make very good armor of the berserker, and there are surely more kinds of monsters that will have something useful, so with time we will earn more than we lost.
