Mirror Image Beast

Both Master Hu and Qing Yun took Tang Feng early in the morning and started their journey for Extreme North.

The Extreme North is the most far away place at the north direction. It's a plain covered with ice with a very low temperature.

It took them more than seven days to reach the Icebound Forest near the Extreme North. During this period of time, Qing Yun and Master Hu took their turns to spar with Tang Feng regularly.

Finally they reached Icebound forest and started looking for the Spirit beast! But it took a lot of time before they could find a suitable Mirror Image beast for Tang Feng.

The Mirror Image Beast is a kind of exceedingly rare and formidable Spirit Beast which specializes in stealth and has formidable attack power. It was quite difficult to find one.

Sadly, after searching the whole forest for days, they were disappointed. Finally, after looking for seven days, Tang Feng decided to give up.

But just as they were about to give up, they found a pair of Mirror Image beasts in the west of Icebound Forest in a cave by the lake. Tang Feng couldn't help but laugh at his fate!

One of the Mirror Image beasts was about 11,800 years old and the other was more than 20000 years old. They were more than seven meters long, the scales on their body were extremely unusual. Each scale was like a small mirror. Their bodies could reflect the surrounding scene, and basically couldn't be discovered without careful observation.

Both Master Hu and Qing Yun didn't want to fight both the Mirror Image beasts together. So they waited for one of them to move away. Mirror Image beasts were territorial animals and so, they hoped that one of the beasts would leave soon.

Soon, they saw four little Mirror Image beasts climbing out of the cave. The 2000 years old beast took them back to the cave.

The 11,800 years old beast roared a few times and left from there. Probably, it was a male beast who went to the female beast's territory for mating and was finally about to return.

Tang Feng and his two teachers followed it from distance. Finally, in a clean ice field, Qing Yun summoned his Jade flute martial spirit and started playing it!

Master Hu took out two ear plugs and handed them to Tang Feng. After Tang Feng put the ear plugs in, Qing Yun started playing the music more vigorously!

Within seconds, the Mirror Image beast fell asleep. Master Hu handed a knife to Tang Feng and told him to finish the beast off!

"Lieutenant, must we have to kill others to be strong? Can't we spare this beast and kill any other one?" Tang Feng asked sadly.

"Xiao Feng, this is the price we have to pay to be strong. Don't you think that the other beasts have families? Or will you abandon all your cultivation just because of this silly sentiment..." Just as Master Hu was about to continue, he was knocked at his head by Qing Yun.

"Don't start with that! Those sentiments are not silly! They prove that he has a humane side in his heart! He is not like those power hungry nobles or clan members who think nothing of the world!

But kid, think of this. If you don't have strength, will you be able to protect your family? If you don't kill this beast, won't it still contribute to other's strength? Remember, a weak doesn't have the right to show pity! It is the right reserved for the strong! So, become strong, for your loved ones, for people you care about! And when you are powerful enough, perhaps you can do something to this system of cultivation where spirit beasts need to be sacrificed for us to gain strength!" Qing Yun spoke passionately.

Tang Feng nodded his head and held the knife firmly. He went to the sleeping Mirror Image Beast that was sleeping and whispered, "Sorry brother, may you rest in peace"

Tang Feng took the knife and slashed it on the sleeping beast's neck. The beast woke up in shock and started fidgeting, but died soon after.

Tang Feng sat there in a meditative position, absorbing the spirit ring. Qing Yun and Master Hu stood guard beside him waiting for him to absorb his ring.

After absorbing the ring, Tang Feng woke up and saw Master Hu and Qing Yun dissecting the body of the Mirror Image beast to take the spirit beast's meat to Golden Star Pavilion.

While dissecting, they found a spirit bone from the dead beast. Collecting their gains, they decided to return to Golden Star Pavilion.
