2 The Real Survival

Sheloah once again went to the window to take a peek. She observed the surroundings of the school. She saw a mic in front of section 4C. The section is near their section, 4A. 4A is located at the left side and on the opposite side, was 4B, 4C and 4D. Beside 4A would be sections 3A and 3B.

She went on the opposite window to take a peek. She saw a bell that would ring if someone would move its string. 'We need that,' Sheloah thought to herself as she looked at the bell, thinking it would create noise to make her plan work.

Sheloah looked down and saw the speaker room opened. She thought that since it was just the first period, the main speaker on the covered court outside their main building would still be turned on and was not yet turned off by the guard.

With these three sights, she had an idea.

She returned to the board. "We need three volunteers. Three brave ones," she said, emphasizing the word 'brave'. "The three people I called on earlier won't be joining because we are going to be the ones assisting the others going to the rooftop," Sheloah added as she looked seriously at her classmates. "Any brave souls?" Sheloah asked a question and after a few seconds, someone raised his hand.

"Me." The class president of the class, Dean, volunteered and Sheloah nodded in approval.

For a class president, he knew his job well. Even though he isn't class president, people knew he would still volunteer. He's the type of guy who is brave and would really help people in need if he is serious about it.

"Who else," Sheloah asked once more and Edward raised his hand, while the other still held his nose because of Sheloah's punch a while back. She ignored the fact that she had punched him and just nodded at Edward.

"I also volunteer." Everyone got surprised when their classmate, Ace, showed initiative.

Ace? Volunteering? He seldom volunteers! He is a very mischievous student! He's the kind of student who always started trouble and would laugh at almost everything so everyone was really shocked when he volunteered for the class. So even a person like him could be serious once in a while…

"Err… okay. So we now have three volunteers," Sheloah said as she started writing on the board again.

"So outside, I saw a mic in front of 4C. Then I also noticed the bell, and the speaker room one floor down," she started then she looked at the three volunteers. "That's where you guys show up," she added then the three volunteers looked at each other.

"Zombies are attracted to noises. What we will do is that, the three volunteers will act as decoys. Dean, you handle the mic. You will do what you can to get their attention. Once the zombies go towards Dean's direction, Edward, you ring the bell to make the zombies come to you. Then once the zombies are near Edward, Ace, I would signal you. You will connect your phone to the speaker and you will play a song. Once the zombies hear the music from the covered court, we will lure them out of this building. Make sure the volume is in full." Sheloah then said the plan and everyone agreed.

Her classmates thought that her plan was okay. Ace's part would practically lead the zombies out of this building and they would be able to go to the rooftop with ease if most zombies were not around. They really hope that right now, Sheloah's plan won't fail.

"Will it be safe for the three of them?" Their class adviser was concerned and worried about them but Sheloah just nodded at their teacher for assurance.

"It will. Veon and I will be there," Sheloah said and she looked at Veon. He nodded at her.

"As for us, while we will be busy distracting the zombies, you pass by the roof of this building going to the rooftop. Expect that we will do a lot of climbing. Girls, man up. If you complain about this, you might as well die." Upon hearing this, some of the girls in the class couldn't speak in protest. They knew they had no choice.

In this situation now, everyone should man up and do what it takes to survive. Everyone in their class now is cooperative and had resolved to working hard. If some people in their class started to show complaints, they would drag the whole group down.

"Okay… we're about to start. Please distribute the school magazines we have at the back. Surround it on both of your arms for protection. If ever zombies attempt to bite your arm, the zombies would be biting the magazine instead if you try to push them," Sheloah ordered then her classmates followed the instruction. She looked back to look at her classmates. "Remember to keep quiet."

Sheloah sighed slightly as she looked at everyone preparing. She hoped that the plan would be successful. After this, what would she think of next?

She now saw that everyone was ready so she spoke again. "We will leave our things. We will just get what we need like money, gadgets, and especially food. We need our phones for emergencies. Put your gadgets in silent mode so we won't attract zombies."

Everyone did as they were told. Their adviser was dumbfounded because in school, it was part of the rules for students not to bring their phones. The school guard would check the students' bag and would check the students' pockets. Who knew that they had various ways on how to bring their gadgets in school!

Sheloah looked at the three volunteers. "Ace, look at your phone later. If it vibrates, pick it up and listen to my signal." Ace nodded.

"Next, we need four big bags. Whoever brought their lunch and water bottles to school, put it inside. This is survival. We would have to share the resources we have now for everyone. Now's the time to be generous," Sheloah said and they nodded at her.

She looked at everything and nodded when everything was already in check. She looked outside their window to take a peek. "This is it. The two zombie guards are stable in front of our door," she added and she scanned around the room for possible weapons. She looked at the farthest window in their room and noticed the metal that would hold the curtains in place. It could be melee weapons for the meantime.

"Veon, give me the metal rods from our curtains farthest our room. There are two. Get one for you. The other would be mine," Sheloah instructed and Veon followed. The both of them then went in front of the door and took a deep breath.

"Guys, once we open the door, Tyler and Josh would go up the roof. All of you would follow with their help. Whoever is already on top would have to help the others climb up. Once Veon and I kill the two guards in front of us, we would get their guns then we will go up the rooftop to shoot the zombies near the three volunteers," she said and her classmates nodded.

'Easier said than done,' Sheloah thought to herself but she just ignored her thoughts for a while and crossed her fingers, betting on the plan she made for everyone.

She spoke again. "Volunteers, be quick." The three volunteers nodded and they went beside Sheloah and Veon.

Sheloah held the doorknob. This is it… once she opens the door, the real thing starts.

The real survival.
