Darce reached out, holding her waist.

“Well done, Rosa.” he kissed her head.

A gesture that made Rosa blush. “Thank you,” she closed her eyes and focused back on the paper.

“So, does it mean we start,” Darce asked as he rested his chin on her head.

“We still have to take Sir Eisen’s word first. The ghosts are not that trustworthy.” Rosa curved her mouth as she put the paper back on the table.

“My wife was a ghost member. Does that mean you are not trustworthy as well?” Darce teases her.

Rosa turned in his arms and grabbed his nose. “Why don’t you tell me your Highness? What is your wife, the former member of the ghost-like?”

Darce took her right hand and kissed her palm. “My wife is like a ferret; she likes to run without notice if I am not keeping my eyes on her.”

Rosa blinked as his eyes stared at her directly; his piercing gaze made her stun.

“So, you believe I will abandon you?” She arched her eyebrow, challenging his words.
