Meeting her parents

The girls woke up early that fine Saturday, arranged their bags, and took to the road in Katrina's car for their mansion. Arianna felt excited and anxious at the same time, where the previous night she had the weirdest dream of her life. A dream that was different from the other one that has been on repeat all her life but for some reason hasn't come up since she came to the university; the one she had last night was so different and at the same time familiar to her.

She is anxious about meeting new people, meeting Katrina's family and maybe also Zoey's and Amaya's. She felt this tingling feeling inside anytime she thinks about Katrina's brother, and she doesn't know why?

The car pulled up into the biggest and most luxurious mansion she had ever seen, with wide eyes she looked around trying to take the beauty of the place in.

"Good morning princ.... Uhm, I mean young Miss." the guard who opened the door greeted, and for a reason she doesn't know, he was staring at Katrina with wide eyes like he wasn't used to addressing her that way.

"Thank you." They alighted, and she was beyond stupefied to see such a gigantic mansion, it was a two-story brick house with a large lawn and wide glass windows with trim. The whole place screams money.

"This is where you've lived all your life?" She couldn't help but ask Katrina, still staring at the building in awe.

"Yes, Come on in." Katrina took her hand and dragged her towards the wooden front door and stopped, then turned to her.

"Ready to meet my parents?" Katrina asked, and she nodded.

Katrina made to knock, but someone from inside yelled.

"There's no need of knocking Katy, I know it's you already." A feminine voice said and the girls (Zoey, Amaya, and Kat) giggled before opening the fire and walked in.

"Mum, where are you?" Katrina yelled, slouching on the couch.

"Good morning yo…young Miss, Al… I mean, master and madam will be here soon. What can I get for you and your friends?" The butler asked, Katrina turned to them.

"Champagne for me." Zoey said with a polite smile.

"Orange juice will do for me." Amy added.

"And a strawberry shake for me." Arianna said shyly, she wasn't used to someone taking her orders except in a restaurant.

"Alright, I'll be right back." He bowed a little before leaving, Arianna took the time to admire the living room.

"Your house is so beautiful, Kat." Arianna complimented and Katrina laughed.

"Oh my baby!" The same voice that ushered them in earlier yelled, the girls raised their head and saw a woman who looked like she was in her thirties, putting on a body hug gown and her hair flowing freely behind her. A man walked beside her but with an opposite charm, he wasn't smiling or giving out any excited face of seeing his daughter.

"Mum, dad!" Arianna snapped her head towards Kat, that was her mum? She asked herself. She watched in dismay as Katrina pulled both her parents in a hug.

"We've missed you so much, baby." Katrina's Mum said, placing light kisses on her head.

"Me too, Mum, I've missed everyone and everything around here." Kat sighed.

"Zoey and Amy, What are you doing sitting there like a statue, come give Mama a hug." Katrina's mum yelled, stretching her hands forward, and Zoey and Amy quickly complied, jumping into their l… Mummy's hug. With all of that getting buggy and emotional, nobody noticed an uncomfortable Arianna.

She didn't say anything, just watched their interactions and family time, but Kat's mum saw her.

"Katy, who's this?" She asked, not taking her gaze off Arianna.

"Oh mum, dad this is Arianna, our new roomie and Arianna meet my parents, Kayla Jackson and Martin Jackson." Katrina introduces.

"Good morning, sir/ ma'am." Arianna politely greeted, tucking the stray hair behind her ear.

"Oh hi, Arianna, how are you?" Kayla asked, giving Katrina a look, and Katrina nodded.

Then her face beamed.

"I'm fine, ma'am."

"Oh drop the formalities, you can call me Mum or Kayla anyone of your choice, it's okay by me."

"Okay, m… Kayla." She trailed, and Kayla laughed.

"Isn't she beautiful, Martin?" Kayla asked, still staring at Arianna.

"Yes she's, but you're the most beautiful." Martin said, staring lovingly at Kayla, Kayla hit his chest, blushing.

"Stop that honey."

"Okay Mum, dad stop flirting in our presence, we don't need that now and where the hell is Marcus?" Katrina asked, looking around, but Kayla scoffed.

"Don't tell me you hoped to see your brother here? He's at the company by don't worry, he'll be back before lunch or maybe dinner. Okay, why don't you take the girls inside, so you can freshen up before lunch while your dad and I discuss something." Kayla said.

"Okay girls, let's go same room or separate room?" Kat asked while taking the stairs.

"Same room." They chorused and burst into laughter.

On their way to their room, Arianna got to know the mansion was a house with about a thousand rooms and how the two-story building was able to hold a thousand rooms sounded strange to her, but she didn't dwell on it for long. In the hallway, Arianna saw pictures of Katrina, Zoey, and Amaya while in kindergarten, high school, excursions, vacations, and also one she couldn't point out what it was.

"Umm Kat, what's this?" She asked, pointing at the picture. Zoey, Katrina, and Amaya were smiling at the camera while holding a massive dog, no not a dog it looked like a wolf in their embrace.

"Oh that…" she trailed, giving Zoey and Amy a look.

"That's our pet." Amy quickly said, and Zoey nodded.

"Yes, our pet while we were still little." Katrina added, breathing a sigh of relief.

"You had a wolf as a pet, woah, that's crazy." Arianna added, still looking at the picture, especially at the wolf siting in the middle.

The wolf looked familiar, but she couldn't point out where she had seen it.

"What happened to it?" Katrina, who thought Arianna, was over the question, stopped moving.

"Oh…"

"Ermm…"

"He died!" Katrina yelled, drawing Arianna's attention from the picture.

"Why are you yelling?" She asked, giving the girls suspicious looks.

"Umm, well, you see, anytime someone brings up our wolf matter up, I always tend to get all emotional and sometimes aggressive." Arianna stared at her, then Zoey and then Amaya, who eagerly nodded their heads.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't bring it up, but can I ask the last question?"

"Sure go on."

"What was his name?" She asked, taking her gaze back to the picture.

"His name was Malik." She nodded, then stepped aside from the picture. The girls sighed in relief before moving on to their room.

They finally got to the room they'll be staying. They loved it, it was big enough to accommodate four of them.

"I'm so tired." Zoey complained, crashing on the bed, Arianna just smiled and took a sit quietly next to her.

"Ria, what do you think about my home and my parents?" Katrina asked, staring at her, and she smiled.

"Magnificent, and your parents are lovely people."

"Why won't they live their daughter-in-law." Katrina mutters with a knowing smirk.

"You said something."

"No, I didn't." She lied.

"Wait until you see my house, Ari." Zoey bragged, sipping from her glass of champagne.

"I can't wait, I know the mayors' would be beautiful." Arianna said, and she nodded. Katrina and Amaya snorted, shaking their heads.

They while away time by chatting; mostly talking about their childhood and how strict their parents were. A knock came on the door and Amy got up.

"I'll get it." She rushed to the door and opened it, revealing a maid.

"Good afternoon, ma'am, madam said you and your friends should come downstairs for lunch." The maid said, bowing slightly.

"Okay girls, you heard that, let's go." They got up and followed the maid downstairs.

The fresh scent of baked cookies and cakes filled the air immediately they got to the dining table.

"Everyone take your seats, please." Kayla yelled, gesturing at the empty seats.

"We know mum." This time, Kat rolled her eyes and took her seat, same with the others. They served themselves and started eating.

"Do you like the food?" Kayla asked as she saw the girls rushing the food.

"Like it, I love it, Kayla. It's delicious." Arianna replied, biting from her chicken.

"I prepared it myself." Kayla added, and her eyes widened.

"Really! Then maybe I can take one or two lessons from you when you aren't busy." She licked her lips.

"Your food is already delicious, Ari." Amy chipped in and Kayla stared at her in awe.

"You cook?" She asked.

"Yes Kayla, but not this good." Kayla gave her a smile and returned to her food.

"So Arianna, right, tell us more about yourself." Martin asked, after watching the girls interact.

"I came from Niverdale, and I was able to enter the university through a scholarship program, I have a younger brother and a mum."

"What about your dad?" Kayla asked, and Arianna paused eating. She hadn't heard that question in a while, so she gave the answers she always gives to anybody who asked about her dad.

"I don't know, but I assume he left us." She clenched her hand tightly around the spoon, thinking about her 'dad'. Furthermore, she remembered how her mother always had sleepless nights just thinking about him, or was it the time she tried to hide her sorrow from her, so she wouldn't find out.

"I'm sorry about that. I hope I didn't open an old wound." Kayla asked, placing her hand on Arianna's, and she shook her head.

"No Kayla, I'm fine beside we're doing well without him, so it's no biggie." She shrugged.

"What's your major?" Martin asked, changing the conversation.

"Business administration." Martin nods his head.

"That's impressive, and you got in through a scholarship."

"Yes dad, she's a wizard I tell you." Kat added with a chuckle.

"Then you must be a brainiac like my son."

"What about me, daddy?" Katrina pouted, blinking her eyes cutely at her father.

"You too, dear." Everyone laughed then continued eating and after lunch they went back to their room.
