CHAPTER 4

I woke up this morning with pains all over my body I went to freshen up and i took some painkillers and went downstairs to prepare breakfast for them I noticed that they were not at home which was good cos I could eat before I left for school. I quickly made a sandwich and went to get dressed for school.

As I was walking down the hallway I bumped into Jessica and her minions and surprisingly she did not even shout at me instead she smiled 'ahhhhhhhhhhhh' Jessica smiled at me I stood frozen not able to say a word because of the shock. I was brought back to reality by the bell, and I quickly walked to class entering class kelvin was sitting on my sit 'gosh what's his problem' he knows that's my sit.

After a hectic quarter day, it was lunch time I was putting my books back into my locker when I saw kelvin walking towards me, so I started walking away but then he stopped me an dragged me to his lunch table I was made to sit and I said.

"Well, you were going to run away, and I wanted you to have lunch with us."

"B-but I don't want to."

"Well, you know that whatever I want I always get."

"There's nothing to know about me" midway through our conversation I was called into the principal's office which has never happened before.

"Yeah thanks " I said as I left the school's cafeteria. getting to the office department the secretary was looking at me with pitiful eyes, so I raised my brow in confusion at her like she read my mind she said.

"Sweetie why don't you go inside first."

"Ok but is everything ok I'm not getting expelled right."

"You are not getting expelled but it's bad just go."

"Ok thanks" I said and entered the office I saw a police officer and another woman there with my principal I did not commit a crime so why are the police here 'oh no' I hoped I was not framed by my parents like the last time the principal's voice snapped me out of my thought.

"Pls sit down miss Aria Romano" she said with a sad face can someone tell me what the hell is going on.

"Good day ma'am" I said as I sat.

"Dear this people want to talk to you."

she said and I turned to the policeman and the other woman, and the policeman started talking first.

"Miss Romano I'm sergeant Raymond."

"I'm sorry to inform you that your mother was in an accident, and she died."

"Whattttt" I didn't know whether to be happy or sad I mean she's still my mother but if she's dead then does that mean I'll be staying with my father 'oh no' so I asked the officer.

"What about my father why isn't he here?"

"I'm sorry dear but your father ran away with your mother's money and jewelry we went to your house to find him and you, but we couldn't find him we searched the house, and it looked like someone turned it upside down to find something, so we did our investigation."

"Then if my mum's dead and my father ran away where and who will I live with."

"Well, this is your social worker miss rosemary" he introduced, and I waved at her, and she smiled back.

"If we are not able to find and relative to take you in then we would put you in foster care" miss rosemary explained to me.

"Ok but my mum didn't mention any relatives so I think I would end up in foster care."

"Well let's hope we find someone."

"Ok so am I coming with you."

"No dear you stay in school we would come pick you up when we find someone."

"Okay thanks I'll leave now."

"Yes, and take care of yourself dear" I left the principal's office and went back to the cafeteria I saw kelvin and his friends still sitting there he called out to me, and I walked towards them i saw Jennifer sitting on his lap and glaring at me I let out a sigh of relief because that's the normal reaction she always gave me. when I sat down, I was bombarded with question from kelvin.

"Or arrested cos I saw police officers going to the office."

"Will you answer me I'm getting worried here" I smiled happy that someone cares about me.

"It went fine, I'm not getting expelled, I'm not getting suspended either, I'm definitely not getting arrested, but the officer was here for me, and I wasn't answering because you didn't give me a chance to" I answered smiling.

"Oh, then why were you called and why were officers here for you."

"Well, they came to tell me that my mum died in an accident and my dad ran away with all our money."

"Why are you not bawling your eyes out you're supposed to be crying and I'm supposed to be petting you" he said looking at me with suspicion.

"Well, I'm sad that she died but not to the point of crying we were not that close, and the man is not my biological father so no pressure."
