Chapter 3: Let's Meet Killua But Act Cool And Not Become a Mary Sue!

(General POV)

The wall continued to make its way up soon slowly revealing to all not only the source of the sound but also a man. This man had a dark purple suit and short lavender hair that curled upwards. One of his most prominent features though was his curly mustache and complete lack of a mouth. We see him turn off that weird frog alarm that he was holding daintily with his two fingers. 

'I apologize for the delay" he says in a robotic voice. "Thank you for waiting, the entry period for hunter applicants is officially closed, so with no further ado the hunter exam will now begin." 

This statement lights a fire under everybody in the hall as they all start to mentally and physically prepare for the chance to finally become a hunter. Seeing this the robotic man opens his mouth again.

"Just a word of caution. If you are short on luck or ability, keep in mind that there is a very real chance that you can end up seriously injured. Death is another distinct possibility. If you are willing to accept the risk involved, I'll ask you to follow me now."

He then points towards the elevator at the back of the hall which they used to get into the space.

"But for the rest of you! Kindly exit through the elevator located behind you!"

The hall is dominated by silence as nobody even budges.

'It sounded much more lively and less tense and depressing in the show with the upbeat music playing in the background. Now it's just an awkward silence that's enough to guilt trip somebody into not leaving' Yumi can't help but note.

"Right then very well," Satotz says seeing as nobody moved to leave.

"All 405 applicants will now participate in phase one" he then turns around reminiscent of Ida from MHA and begins to walk (even if it looks more like a march). Everybody obediently follows him.

Soon his walking march turns into a jogging march temporarily surprising all the applicants at the front who now have to jog to catch up. This includes Yumi who decided that she'll let Gon and Killua as well as Leorio and Kurapika have their moments together during this run and then interfere.

"How rude of me I neglected to introduce myself," The man says while marching. " I am Satotz, Your examiner for the first phase of the exam. It's my responsibility today to lead you all to the second phase."

Soon the ninja character who is now by chance jogging next to Yumi speaks up.

"The second phase? Whatever happened to the first?"

"Haven't you been listening?" she says to the ninja while secretly wondering how his shirt worked.

"This is the first stage right Satotz!"

"Yes, that is correct," he says roboticly sending murmurs through the crowd.

"The first phase is quite simple, all you have to do is follow me to the second phase. So try to keep up."

"Follow you?" Ninja replies again. "So that's it nothing else?"

'Wow, Yoshihiro Togashi just used you ask these stupid questions didn't he? How does it feel like being a plot device?' Thinking about this I unintentionally laugh irritating the ninja who was already mad at your previous comment.

"Why are you laughing, it's an honest clarifying question."

I then turn to him my breathing rhythm unchanging. "It's because it's kind of a stupid question you dumb dumb? Didn't he already say just follow him? Or is that too easy for a righteous ninja as yourself!"

This man immediately blows into a fake panic about how she wasn't supposed to reveal that secret so openly while internally noting this odd girl in his head.

"Number 14 is again correct. I cannot tell you where or when you must arrive. You need only to follow me."

'Now this is an interesting type of tourcher' Yumi thinks looking at the group of people behind her some already uncertain of the trials ahead. This made a huge smile curl up on her features.

'This will definitely be fun to watch!' She says grinning sadistically.

‐-----------------(Time Skip after like 40km)------------‐

(Yumi POV)

'Wow after running this long I'm not even breaking a sweat. The stats the god gave me are no joke. When I asked to be stronger than Gon and Killua combined I didn't think that I'd be such a monster. I'm not even losing my breath

I then remembered a question I've always wanted to ask our exam proctor so I picked up the pace and ran beside him. The fat kid with the laptop is currently close behind.

"Hey, Mister Exam proctor?"

"Yes applicant 14, You may call me Satotz"

"Well I have a question, it may be a bit rude so please forgive me"

'I swear when I look at him I can feel a mouth but then where is it!'

"As long as it is not restricted information I can tell you"

"Okay then! Where is your mouth?"

A few people at the front hear this and are also curious so they try to listen in.

"I do have a mouth don't be mistaken. It's just so small that my mustache covers it up." He replies simply.

"Really! I thought so!" Yumi exclaims happy that she officially won all the fan debates she had on Reddit, and Twitter.

-----(Time Skip like 2 hours and 20 extra kilometers)-------

(Yumi POV)

'Hmmm, I guess Leorio should be getting his second wind about now.' 

I think to myself as I see the stairs coming up at least before I'm rudely interrupted.

"Hey, kid!" At first, I didn't respond because by no means was I a kid in my previous life. It wasn't until they called me a few other times I realized that they may be trying to get my attention. I look back and see it's the ninja guy and soon look away uninterested.

'Oh, it's you. I already knew you weren't the main four as I memorized all of their voices but did it have to be you? The bastard that hurt Gon so severely even though you could've just admitted defeat. But because of your stupid ninja pride, you beat up a fricken 12-year-old. Yeah like sh*t I'm going to reply to you. I'll show you a true ice queen.'

As I continued to ignore him he got more and more irritated soon jogging up beside me.

"Number 14! Hey there I assume you didn't hear me! Well, my name is Hanzo."

I continue to ignore him my face unchanging, and he then persists.

"It's really cool that you can run this far and your breath is still steady. You must be really strong for a kid."

"....."

"Well anyway I was cool when I was a kid too" he then lowers his volume looking around like he was trying to be sneaky. "You know because I was training to be a ninja back then"

"I'm pretty sure you told me this already," Yumi says flatly.

"Oh, I guess I have! Well even though you still can't be so loud about it like last time"

Yumi rolls her eyes. "Is that it?"

"Well, I've told you about myself, what about you?"

"I'm frankly not interested in telling you anything but my first name which I'd Yumi, So I suggest you slow down before you lose your breath, old man. You'll need all of it for this run anyway"

The ninja didn't know what to say to this as he still knew it was wise to conserve his energy but still.

'This kid is trying to disrespect my chosen way of the ninja! Don't worry I'll remember your name Yumi!'

As he falls back Satotz finally speaks up as he starts jogging up the stairs.

"We have reached the 80-kilometre mark, Now let's pick up the pace shall we?"

As he picks up the speed I run effortlessly next to him and people marvel at us.

"They're both insane! Look at them climb those stairs like it's no big deal. They aren't even out of breath!" Hanzo says.

"If he doesn't slow down soon people are going to start dropping like flies" a no-name character speaks up.

I turned around soaking up the pain and suffering everyone was going through and enjoying every second of it.

'He, he, he' I laugh internally.

---------(Time Skip ? Hours)----------

(Yumis POV)

After I don't know how long I start to see a light at the end of the tunnel and smile unconsciously which of course means my creepy smile. 

"Mister Satotz I can see this must be the end, may I run ahead of you?"

This surprises the examiner. 'Wait this child can run even faster than she is right now? Interesting.'

"I'm sorry but you may not, your strict orders were to follow me not to run ahead of me." 

"Well then" Yumi scrambles "Can you run a bit faster?" Satotz's eyes widened slightly.

"Well, I guess we are almost there. Sure for this last 500 meters, I can run a bit faster." 

"Thank you!" I say as he begins to speed up to the great dismay of the crowd. As we reached above ground I turned around to see Gon and Killua who were running up the steps. I quickly jump onto the top of the tunnel lying in wait.

"Goal!" I soon hear as they both run up the last step.

"Yeah, I did it!" Gon yells out. "I finished first!"

"What are you talking about I totally won!" Killua retorts.

'Time for my introduction'

"I think you boys came through the tunnel at the same time. That is after me anyway"

They both look up to trace the sound of the voice when they see me sitting on top of the tunnel entrance.

"Who are you?" Killua says with slight interest but also hostility at the person who managed to get here before him.

"Oh, that's Yumi!" Gon says as I jump down to where they are standing.

"You know her?" Killua asks Gon.

"Yeah, he does. We met before. Now who are you?"

I question remembering that we technically don't know each other yet that is.

"Well if you're Gon's friend I guess you're fine. I'm Killua nice to meet you."

He says holding out his hand.

"Nice to meet you," I say shaking his hand but I soon realize that Killua was gageing my strength.

'Awwww, Killua! Don't worry I didn't cheat or anything! Let's not break his hand so like half of my strength should make us seem even.' Yumi thinks excitedly.

Killua at first is shocked by her strength but soon smiles and accepts her as a powerful individual worth his time.

"Wow, you're strong. How old are you?" Killua questions.

"Oh I'm 12" I reply. 'My Killua accepted me! Cha!'

"That's the same age as the both of us!" Gon and Killua say at the same time.

'Yeah the reason why I chose it'

"Oh really what a coincidence."

"Wait a minute if we crossed at the same time then I guess you have to buy me dinner and then I have to buy you dinner!" Gon says thinking hard.

"I don't get it' Killua says confused.

Ignoring him Gon turns to Satotz. "Hey, Mister Satotz is this where our second phase begins?"

"No it isn't" he responds politely. "We have quite a way to go"

"Aww, man!" Gon says disappointed visibly drooping.

"Don't tell me you're tired already?" I question in a teasing tone.

"Of course not!" Gon says immediately.

"Then you'll be fine," I say comforting him while inside screaming Kawaii at the top of my lungs.

Okay, that's chapter 3 in the hole. In all honesty, I didn't want to stop it at that but as a reader, I hate super long chapters that I can't see the end of so I decided to spare you guys. But hey I should post tomorrow so add it to your library so you can get those notifications. Also, I don't know how many people are reading this but if you are please comment. I always love talking about my fanfics (yes I have others but none are online so it is still technically my first). Anyway, Seeker out.
