Cruel Love.

The next morning, I woke up and went downstairs, still in my nighties, and made myself a bowl of cereal.

Chris came and sat opposite me in the kitchen.

"Make me some too. I'm starving" He said, leaning his head on the table.

"There are some mince pies if you'd like." I said, since the mince pies smelled fantastic.

"No, I want what you're eating."

"Okay, if you decide to be greedy." I said, and he laughed, while I smiled, and made him a bowl of cereals.

Then, Aunt came in through the door, with a large bag full of groceries and lots of mini bags.

I rushed to help her.

"Hey mum." Chris said.

"Hi dearie... How was your first week, Priscilla?"

"My first week was dreadful." Chris lied.

" Tut... didn't ask for your week because, I know it'll always be good." she said and Chris faked blushing.

"My first week was cool. Like, totally. I've met new friends, I joined the dance team…"

"Woah… you joined the dance team? Why that's splendid!" She said, and I smiled.

We arranged the bags on the kitchen table.

" Mum's home!" Chris shouted and instantly, I heard footsteps coming down the stairs.

" Mum!" Mera screamed.

" I missed you, mommy!" Val said, and jumped on her.

"Oh babies, I bought some groceries, and all your baking things, and then guess what?"

"What mum?" Mera asked.

" I bought clothes!"

"Aaaaaaah!" The girls screamed, while I was so excited, I bent with them to dig up the bag.

I loved new clothes, since they always gave me a new look.

" I want this."

" This looks totally me!" Val said.

" Leave those joggers, I bought them for Chris." Their mum said, pouring orange juice into a cup.

"Mum I want them!" Mera said

"Seems like a screw's gone lose in your pretty little head, Mera." Chris said, smiling, and nodding as he examined every part of the orange, and brown joggers.

"Do you like it?" Val asked.

" 'Like' is an understatement." Chris replied.

"And I bought this for Pris. I hope you like it." Aunt asked me, and I saw a long red jacket shirt with gold buttons. It was sleeveless and was thick, but, as smooth as silk.

" Wow… I love it." I said as I was lost for words, and tears shone in my eyes. It was too simple and too beautiful.

" You're crying?" Mera said

" Wait, no, no, no you're crying!?" She added.

"Oh dear… It's not much. Take this, relax. Mera, Val, and Chris would do the Saturday work." she said warmly to me.

" Oh, jeez, mum." Val exclaimed.

" No." Mera whined, looking like she was going to cry.

" I'm tired, I have a headache, and I got to help some girls, on… You know, homework. " Chris said, and winked at Aunt.

" No, Headache, tired, girls, assignment, you're finishing the housework." Aunt said, with a finality in her tone, and walked out.

I smiled.

" You're smiling!?" Mera shrieked, and they all joined hands, to hit me playfully.

I walked back to my room, and lay on the bed. It felt nice at their house and I liked it.

Calling my family? Not so much, but, I was doing fine.

I liked my cousins, and my old friends? Duh! I got new, better ones here.

After all the work, we all set out for the morning jog, wearing sleeveless white tops and joggers.

Chris wore red, Val wore purple, Mera wore hot pink and I wore light green.

Val had forced us to pack our hair into ponytails, except Chris, who tied a red bandana on his head.

He was so cool and too handsome.

We jogged for a long while before stopping at the park and sitting down, panting.

Shortly, Sam arrived, in a light green sleeveless top and gray joggers.

He sat next to me, and I shifted to leave some space between us.

"Your mom around?" Chris asked.

"Yeah… I ran out" he replied, knotting his shoelaces properly.

I looked at Mera, who was pouring a bottle of water, over her face, not minding even as some of it flowed down to her chest.

She looked so hot, however, sam paid no attention to her.

Instead, he was looking at a black girl, with a very full butt, and massive breasts, who was laughing and winking at him.

"So, why don't you like Mera?" I asked before I could stop myself.

I thought he wasn't going to reply but, he replied…

" Why don't you like me?"

" Uh?"

" I'm not asking you out, so chill. The way you don't like me, is the same way I don't like her. Some people are just better as friends. I'm going to play Mera, if I ever date her, and then we'd never be friends."

"So that's it?"

"P. S she's not my type at all. I like innocent girls, that I will have to teach everything, not a girl on the same page as I am.

"I'm a playboy, she's a playgirl. I think we'd be better off playing other people, than ourselves."

" But, she likes you, she's not going to play you."

" But, I don't like her, I'm going to play her."

"You're blunt." I told him.

" Yeah, I know I am, and trust me, Mera's going to be fine."

"Hey sam, can we talk?" Mera asked, walking up to us.

" Nope, I'm not continuing with that boring talk we had last night." He said, like it wasn't offensive.

Jeeeez my lips parted.

That was wicked!

" It's not boring talk, if you're going to sit here, and watch some black beauty smiling, and winking while I'm here, trying to say something."

" You know what… I think I'm gonna talk to Val, she's less complicated." he said, and stood up and Oh My God, Mera grabbed him and kissed him.

At that moment, I didn't know if I was supposed to turn or walk away.

" Mera, don't force yourself on me." Sam said, pushing her away gently but firmly.

" Mera, drop it. " Chris said standing up, and he seemed a bit annoyed.

That was brave.

People were around!

" You're going to be mine, Sam." Mera said.

" Jeez, you're scary." Sam said, and Mera's eyes shown bright with tears.

"Aren't you, making me, the bad guy when your eyes become my bathroom tap?"

"Shit Sam, can't you stop talking?" Chris asked, going to Sam.

" You can't tell me friends, after you pulled shit on me. You can't tell me friends, after you made me have feelings for you! Not after all your comments, your winking, your everything, you're going to date me Sam!"

"Hell no! I made it clear I'm not having a relationship with you." Sam said and walked off.

" Pris, follow him." Chris said, and I pointed to myself.

Why was I to follow him?

Was he going to start crying or point a knife to his belly?

" Of course you! That guy can start throwing his Television, shelf or fan, when he's angry!" Val said, and I looked at Mera who had tears running down her face, although her expression was angry and stubborn.

Was love like this?

I ran after Sam, who was walking really fast.

" Can you slow down, please?" I asked and he looked back.

" It's not my fault she's crying, is it?" He asked like he wanted me to say no.

"No, it's definitely not. She's just being emotional." I said, trying to catch my breath.

"Then why are you following me?"

"I was asked to." I said, and he rolled his eyes.

We got to his house and I followed him in.

However, I heard some noise in the kitchen, and he turned sharply to me.

"What…"

" Shush! Run up the stairs." he whispered to me, and I tiptoed quickly across the stairs, without asking questions.

Shortly, he came up after me, and led me to his room, where pictures of different girls in bikinis, decorated a part of the wall.

In the other part, were basketball stuff, pictures and all.

And finally, the huge bed, with a gray bed spread.

Everything seemed spotless and neat.

He locked the door and jumped on the bed.

"Why did you ask me to tiptoe?" I asked, unsure where to seat but spotted an armchair, which I sat in.

"My mum says nasty things when she sees a girl with me."

"Nasty stuff like what?"

" Trust me, you don't want to know." he said, looking at me.

" Mera said something about you making her like you? What was that all about? You played her first?" I asked carefully, as I wasn't certain whether or not to ask.

" No way. It was just this day, when we were locked up in a room. Things went crazy, and it ended in us hooking up." he said, playing with a ball.

"Sorry, what's the meaning of hooking up" I asked shyly.

" You don't know!? That's kind of cute… You're totally my type. Well, hooking up, is what your Mum and Dad did, to have you." he said with a smirk on his face.

My eyes popped out

" Mera has had sex!?" I asked in shock.

"Gee, Your eyes are really big." he said, propping himself on his elbow.

I narrowed my eyes, and he laughed.

"Did you think she's a Virgo, like you are?" He asked, and I blinked several times in embarrassment.

"Who said… who said I… who said me… Virgo?" I asked shiftily.

"You show it, you can't even stay close to a guy, seeing the way you moved away when you sat next to me."

"Don't talk about me! Since when has Mera been having that thing?" I asked in a whisper.

"Since I knew her."

" And Val?"

" Yup."

" What?? Val?" I asked with extra large eyes.

" Yeah."

"And Chris?" I asked in a whisper, and he looked at me.

"Are you kidding me?"

" And you too?"

"Did you even hear a word of what I said? Because we made out, she's been having feelings for me.

"That night, meant nothing to me. She was the only girl around, I could have gotten a girl if I wanted, but she also got frisky with me, and I've never made out with her after that night.

"I never sleep with my friends and that was a mistake, so I asked her to forget it, but the idiot didn't, and it grew into feelings. Let's see if she still wants me, after I date you." he said, and my eyes widened.

" Who? Me? Hahaha." I laughed nervously and that made him laugh.

"Seriously, you're cute." He said, tilting his head to look at me.

" Stop telling me that." I said.

Why would he call me cute? It was like reminding me I was still a little girl.

There was a knock, and ten seconds later, Sam was trying to push me into his wardrobe when Chris said.

" Hey, Sam, it's me."

Sam left me and went to open the door.

"Why does your mum love talking shit?" He asked and Sam smiled.

" That's why I avoid her." he said and looked at me.

"So, you really don't like Mera?" Chris asked.

" Yeah." sam said dryly.

"So, what we going to do about that now, man?" Chris said, sitting on the armchair I had been sitting on earlier.

" Don't know. Is it bad?"

" Seems like she fell in love."

" Then, make her fall out of it."

" You kidding? She's my sister "

" You did that on Val."

" Because, she was immature, and I was dared to do that."

" Find a guy for her. Mera scares me, I mean, a lot."

" How did that happen?"

" It was that night, when that Blondie tried to do me and you. It actually worked, but, I didn't let it show, and my mum actually had to lock me in my room because I didn't tell her who Mera was.

"Mera also made things worse by telling me, how someone broke her heart, and this led to that, blah blah blah, and it all happened. I begged her to forget it after…"

" How can you tell her to forget it? You know she's a female."

" I wasn't her first, she's done it with other guys, so don't blame it all on me, plus, can we stop talking about this? Someone's busy giving me the bad eye here." he said, and they both looked at me.

" I… I wasn't giving anyone bad eyes… I was only listening" I said immediately.

Mera was in a bad mood all weekend, she cried when someone made a noise, or when something broke, and she screamed a lot.

Val, who was mostly on the receiving end, would cry and tell me I was to avoid falling in love.

I avoided Mera a lot, and finally Tuesday came because everyone stayed home on Monday, to cheer Mera up.

I copied notes from Drake in class, while listening to Taylor Swift's I'd lie because, if anyone loved Blues, it was me.

"So, how was homecoming?" Drake asked me

"Breathless." I said remembering Chris, and everything.

" Breathless?"

" Fabulous and romantic." I said, remembering that guy... what was his name? Yeah, peter.

" Fabulous and romantic." he repeated.

" Yeah." I said blushing.

Then the rain started falling, really hard.

A friendly teacher, Miss Maya, came in, and they all told her they couldn't see, and understanding that they wanted to have fun, she left the class.

As the class got darker, everyone in the class, for a reason, picked themselves in pairs, while two idiots, had the guts to kiss in class.

Everywhere got really dark, and some idiot turned off the lights.

" Hey, I'm writing!" I shouted even though I didn't mean to.

"Don't bother writing, just enjoy the sight." Drake said, turning on his phone.

" Seriously, are they meant to do this rubbish in class? It's annoying!" I said, as girls pushed themselves on guys.

"Should we leave?" He asked

" Yes please." I said, and we both went to the library.

"So, anything electric during homecoming?" He asked and I smiled.

" Yeah, kind of with this guy. I think we were about to kiss."

" Kiss? Kiss? Just kiss?"

" I don't do such like hooking up." I said immediately.

" Okay, sounds cool, so who was this guy?"

" Peter, from the high school."

" I know that guy... The Dark Charming Prince."

" You know everybody, Drake" I said, smiling.

" Yeah, I do." He replied, and I gave it a thought. He was charming indeed.

During break, I had dance practice, and it was really fun.

I learned this lovely dance, that had a lot to do with break whining, and I began to learn the splits since it was required for the dance… I was quite flexible, so I knew I'd get it in no time.

Not everyone was chosen to perform the splits so, I and a few girls, stayed behind, while everybody left.

It was kind of painful, but they told me it wasn't supposed to be and that I wasn't to force it.

I met with Mike, and we had fun playing with the rain, using our hands to catch droplets.

He told me he couldn't sing the song for Whitney, so she got mad, but they made up later, when he sang it to her personally.

September kept on raining as the days passed, and October came in with more rain and chilly air.

Mera was getting better, but Sam was avoiding her big time, Val was still lecturing me on being a nun, which I let inside my right ear, and out through the left.

What else happened?

Not much, except that Mike and I got closer, Drake had started sharing his romantic experiences with me, Whitney and I moved around together a lot and, surprise, I finally learned my splits, thanks to my flexibility.

Also, my friends, Jean and Sheena, actually called and were jelly because I had new friends.

They spoke to Drake and Mike while I rushed to get Chris, telling him all he needed to know before speaking to them.

Chris was great as he spoke to them in a cool way, often calling me pretty, cute, which I know made them super jelly!

Okay, let's skip to the part where, once again, I met GREEN-EYED BOY!

It was preparations for Halloween! And it was fast approaching!
