Defeating Owyne And Gaining A New Friend.

" Put that thing away first," Owyne said as he pointed den at something.

As Xavier looked down, he could see that Owyne was talking about Xandyr.' You dare have the nerve to call my brother a thing! I'll kill you bastard!' Xavier wanted to lash out like a dog but he had a better way of humiliating Owyne. Since these fights would reach out to the entire town, people would come there to observe the battle. It was a win-win so Xavier held his anger back.

The man before then took Xandyr from his Xavier's hands," I'll keep him safe."

" Mmh," Xavier shook his head in approval," Let's go started, shall we?" Xavier knew he could beat Owyne without using magic, well, he couldn't use it either way.

As Owyne drew his broadsword, his bloodlust covered the entire area. It was that of a powerful mana beast. He looked dangerous and deadly, he didn't care to let his murderous intent show. Meanwhile, Xavier held his daggers regular in no stance. He looked calm as water, he didn't show any bad intent whatsoever. He looked like he was in his own world. While Owyne saw it as confidence, Xavier was just bored and wondering how he got himself into this. Xavier then sighed and the moment he closed his eyes to do so, Owyne leaped into the air thrusting his broadsword forward. And before Owyne could touch him, in that instance, Xavier cut Owyne.

" Looks like I've won," Xavier said.

" Ha! You consider a cut on the cheek as a victory, what are you some kinda coward?" Owyne teased." Huh! What's this? I can't move!"

He was paralyzed from Xavier's Venombite. The moment Xavier was going to take his victory, rocks shot out of the floor. Xavier lunged into the air dodging the attack.

' Of course! Earth users don't need to do any movement to cast an attack, they actually communicate with the earth. All this time I was thinking that it was just cheap talk!' Xavier got hit by a spike at his shoulder.

As he jumped back, he held his shoulder which bleed.

" Why aren't you using magic? Are you perhaps underestimating me?" Owyne got angry.

He changed almost the whole floor into earth spikes all doing so while he was paralyzed. But Xavier saw this coming from a mile away, doing such a feat would cost a lot of mana and because he was angry he didn't care about how much mana helped waste. Xavier planned to wear him out. Xavier dodged earth spikes after earth spikes by circling around the field and going higher than the spells could go. It wasn't long until the paralyzing effect subsided away. While Xavier was busy dodging attacks, he couldn't notice it was an automatic type spell.

An automatic spell is a type of spell that targets the enemy no matter where they go. The spellcaster can do other things while the spell hunts the enemy. The spell only goes away if the caster casts another spell. When Xavier was busy dodging the attacks and thinking he was communicating with the earth he didn't care to notice, no, he had no idea what an automatic spell was. As Owyne launched at him, Xavier felt a strong presence of bloodlust approaching him. Xavier then spun around and blocked the incoming attack with one of his own. Every day Xavier would practice slashes, this was a way to make an impact of his blade extremely strong enough the push back the enemy's blade. Xavier then did a normal downward slash. And the moment it touched Owyne's blade, it broke and fell to the ground. Owyne then retreated.

" Are you using physical enhancement magic?" Owyne wanted Xavier to answer with a yes so that he could do the same.

" No, I'm using experience," Xavier said as he closed in on Owyne.

Xavier slashed with his right-hand sort of like a jab. Owyne ducked as the blade cut strands of his hair.

As the fight went on, people started to watch.

" Isn't that Feran's kid?" An old man asked.

" Yeah, he's absolutely destroying Lord Loy's son."

" Owyne isn't gonna lose, he's a noble after all!"

" Yeah-yeah."

This was Xavier's chance to humiliate Owyne. Xavier then went all out, his clashes were much harder to the point where Owyne could feel the impact, he couldn't even close his eyes for a second. Xavier kept slashing with his daggers continuously, he then lunged into the air and threw one of his daggers. The dagger hit his leg. Xavier then pointed his dagger at Owyne's throat.

" Defeated," Xavier said as he was going to walk away.

" What! He lost!" People started murmuring about Loy's battle with Xavier and how he lost so easily.

" Bastard! You'll pay for this! You dare to humiliate me in front of all these people! I'll kill you, no, I'll kill that baby and your entire..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Xavier zoomed into him. Xavier then started choking him and held him up in the air. A dark shadow was cast over Xavier's face as he strangled Owyne. It was his bloodlust that he always subconsciously concealed. As Owyne tried to push Xavier's hand away, he couldn't do the grip was that strong.

" Tell me what were you going to do?" Xavier started tightening his grip as a way to make Owyne answer immediately.

How could Owyne have talked If he was being strangled so aggressively? As tears ran down Owyne's eyes, Xavier snapped out of it immediately.

" Does he not know that boy is of high status?"

" He knows but he doesn't care, he had it coming either away insulting his family like that."

Xavier dropped Owyne and walked away. He then took his baby brother and walked away. It was time to go home.

As Xaver was walking, he saw the boy who he bumped into from before.

" How'd you do it? How'd you beat Owyne?" The boy questioned.

" Experience," Xavier replied.

" Huh? Could you explain?" He asked.

" You see the way how he cried when he was getting strangled, that shows he has never been in a life or death situation before. Not to mention, you could feel the boy coming from a mile away with all that bloodlust. That means he lacks experience." Xavier explained.

" Oh, I get it? But why didn't you use magic?" The boy asked.

As Xavier looked at the boy, he reminded him of someone. The boy had curly black hair, green eyes, and circular glasses. He also wore tattered clothing and ripped-up pants— he was also Xavier's age. He was most likely homeless and from the slums. He reminded Xavier of his old friend in his previous life.

" Because I couldn't use it," Xavier replied.

" How?"

" You know you ask a lot of questions, right? I couldn't use it because it was damaged in a battle."

" How did that happen?"

" You know you're doing it again. Fine, I had a mana leakage it was healed but my mana core still has to finish recovering until I can use magic again."

" Makes sense. Also, can I hold your baby brother for you?" He asked.

" Fine," Xavier replied.

He only let him do so because he felt familiar and reminded him of his best friend. He even asked the same question, when Andrew was a baby Alex's friend who was similar to this boy, asked to carry Andrew instead of him.

As they walked and talked, Xavier asked," Do you have any space to stay."

The boy then scratched his head in embarrassment," Ah, no."

" Maybe you should spend the day by my home?" Xavier asked because he was getting familiar with the boy even though he hated kids his age due to him having the soul of an adult in his small body.

" Ahh. I'll smell and what would I wear anyway, I can't go there wearing this." The boy looked down at his clothes and was more disappointed than ever.

" You can always bathe and maybe borrow some of my clothes?"

" Thanks, Xavier." The boy smiled as Xavier was his first friend.

" You know my name so how come I don't know yours, that isn't fair."

" My name is Alexander, pretty neat huh, I gave it to myself." He boasted.

" I'll call you Alex."

' He has almost the same name as I did in my past life, except, my name was Alex, not Alexander.' Xavier thought.

Alexander had no parents and no guardian, he had no one. He was abandoned since he was a baby and sooner or later the people of the slums adopted him, not out of the kindness in their hearts but as a tool for labor. They didn't even teach him how to talk, but there was one man who did. The man died from an illness leaving Alexander alone again. So Alexander started to educate himself to read and do things like writing. As he read books he was captivated by magic and his goal is to become rich.

" What a trashy background story and your goals are only to become rich?" Xavier teased him.

" I'm from the slums, we don't have much education give me that at least."

They then laughed. Vivian approved of Alex staying, in fact, she said he could live with them. Xavier and Alexander slowly became best friends in a single day.
