164 -161- Take me home

On the 23rd of February, before dawn arrived, both Piltover and Zaun entered the realm of dreams.

On the corridors of Zaun's middle layer, two enforcers were patrolling. Unlike their usual boredom during patrols, excitement adorned their faces. The enforcers were discussing the events of the previous night.

"I still love 'Giants.' That song is so good."

"I think 'Childhood Dreams,' the one Seraphine sang solo, sounds even better. Didn't you see the crowd all waving along with Seraphine?"

"Of course, I saw that, but I still prefer 'Giants.'"

They began arguing, but soon one of them said, "I wonder when the next concert will be held."

"Maybe on next year's Twin City Day?"

"Ah, so we have to wait for a whole year?"

"Now I'm feeling all itchy not hearing Seraphine sing, I just want it to be Twin City Day now! I want to hear Seraphine sing now!"

"I understand your feelings."

On the second-floor railing, they smoked, leaned on the railing, and chatted.

Is this considered slacking off?

Well, it's quite normal; it's a form of patrolling, isn't it?

As for the possibility of unexpected incidents, you should know that Zaun is quite safe now; it's not only these two enforcers who were patrolling.

Just as they were about to speak again, a familiar sound of a hoverboard cutting through the air echoed.

The enforcers were familiar with this sound, and instinctively, they looked towards the source of the disturbance.

One of them yelled out, "Hey pal, it's already late at night, and the use of Hextech hoverboards is prohibited in Zaun at this hour. Aren't you aware of this rule?"

Most people who own Hextech hoverboards are enforcers. Many folks who become enforcers and receive a Hextech hoverboard end up in such situations. Riding around late at night, venting their excitement and thrill.

But...

"Hurry up and get over here. It's not too late now; otherwise, if I catch you, a fine plus suspension is inevitable!"

"Stop talking!"

His companion suddenly threw the cigarette on the ground and quickly pulled him away.

Because under the blue flames emitted by the Hextech hoverboard, they saw the person using it.

It was a girl with two very long braids.

Extremely, exceptionally long braids.

Unable to discern the color, unable to see the opponent's appearance, but just seeing these two long braids...

"It's Miss Powder!"

"Uh huh?" The companion was stunned, and the next second he quickly stood upright, saluting toward the front and said, "M-Miss Powder! Good evening!"

But the other party didn't even acknowledge them.

However, when they got closer, they did see that anxious face.

————

Under a tree by the River Pilt.

I don't know what time it is, but anyway, the sun hasn't come out yet.

It's a bit cold at night, so Linwin lied against the tree, lost in thought.

The Noxian people ran away.

The army of several thousand people, after seeing Linwin shatter earth dragon with a single slash, summon a tornado with a swing, and the entire army fled towards the plain.

Linwin didn't pursue too far.

But he did give the Noxian people a lesson.

It wasn't until he felt his body become heavy that Linwin returned here.

But even so, Linwin estimated that he had killed at least five hundred people.

Including that general named Kolck?

In addition to Sion, Linwin, in one night, single-handedly repelled a Noxian attack on the Piltover Mountains.

This wasn't a playful situation like the first time.

It wasn't like the night when Piltover was first ambushed.

If war machines like Sion were suddenly deployed to Demacia, if the Dauntless Vanguard didn't intervene, Sion could undoubtedly destroy several towns in Demacia and then push to the capital city.

Tonight, Linwin killed Sion and nearly six hundred people.

Now, feeling dizzy and weak, Linwin could only lean against a tree, desperately trying not to fall asleep.

If a bear came by in the middle of the night and dragged him away...

Ha, showing off mightily, destined to be the man with a sword over Noxus after today, actually died at the hands of a bear?

If this bear was Volibear, it would be okay, but would Volibear appear here?

Impossible!

"Ugh."

Trying to lift himself, Linwin looked at the sky.

The stars were very bright. Although the River Pilt is close to the industrial cities of Piltover and Zaun, the environment shouldn't be so good theoretically.

But you should know that this is a magical world. Elemental spirits are constantly changing the surrounding environment, so, except for the disaster-prone areas (within a kilometer of Zaun and Piltover), the surroundings of Piltover and Zaun are quite pleasant.

Linwin stared blankly at the stars and waited for Vi to come and pick him up.

He really couldn't move now.

Fortunately, he just managed to make a call.

After who knows how long passed —

Linwin felt his head becoming dizzier and heavier.

Is this the aftermath of the Ascendant's power?

No wonder it's marked as forbidden. Being powerful is one thing, but forcibly using power that doesn't belong to you has obvious consequences.

Now, even a five-year-old could beat Linwin up.

Really, not even eight, five would do.

This is the power from Nasus.

Renekton and Nasus, the two brothers, are Ascendants.

However, both of them use the power of one Ascendant because during the Ascendant ceremony, Nasus couldn't withstand the power. So, in order to save his brother, Renekton rushed into the ceremony, intending to use his life to stop the ceremony.

However, the final result was that Nasus and Renekton both became Ascended warriors.

The power of the Ascendant isn't something that when it is given to you, you can casually use it.

You must be qualified!

Therefore, now Linwin is just weak in his limbs, powerless. This outcome is already good enough.

After a while —

Linwin's eyelids had already begun to fight.

Yawning loudly, Linwin wanted to sleep.

Then he heard a familiar voice.

"Linwin! Linwin!"

"You rascal! Where are you?"

"Say something! You don't answer the phone, and when I call you, you don't respond. What are you doing?"

The girl's anxious voice echoed in the air.

Linwin coughed and looked up, seeing a blurry figure flying by.

Now, even his vision had weakened.

"I'm here."

Linwin tried to raise his arm to wave and get attention, but in the end, he couldn't lift his arm and fell in mid-air.

"If you don't come out, I'm going to make a scene!"

"I'm really going to make a scene!"

"I'm gonna do it!"

"Stop joking with me, Linwin!"

After flying back from the northern Piltover Mountains, she became even more anxious, starting to cry and shout in the sky above the River Pilt.

Crying and shouting.

And during these more than ten minutes, Linwin watched her run around this area three times.

While touched, Linwin felt stupid at the same time.

Shouldn't he just lie down in a conspicuous place and not move?

He even climbed under a tree.

It wasn't until the fourth time that Linwin's eyelids had already closed, and he started snoring that she found him.

Jumping down from a height of more than two meters, she flew towards Linwin.

Crashing into Linwin's arms.

"Woah, slow down, Powder."

With a sudden collision, Linwin almost vomited.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Powder quickly got up, knelt in front of Linwin, shaking her hands.

But immediately, she looked at Linwin angrily and with concern.

This was not the Linwin she had ever seen.

He looked very weak.

Even the act of opening his eyes seemed to be very strenuous.

But even so, he was smiling at herself.

Seeing this, Powder raised her arm angrily, covering her reddened eyes, and scolded with her head down, "Are you braindead? Why do you always do everything alone?"

"What a crappy Twin City Day, what Piltover and Zaun!"

"I don't care about those. Why do you always do this?"

Linwin managed to show a smile and Powder kept scolding him, biting on.

"Powder, why is it you who came? Where's Vi?"

"The phone was last contacted by her. The one I answered earlier should also be hers."

"She's asleep, and I haven't slept all night, so I answered the phone!"

"Oh, I see."

"Take me home."

Powder opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but saw Linwin's smile.

He just pulled out a big smile, took a deep breath.

"The matter is over, but now I can't go back alone. Powder, can you carry me?"

Linwin leaned against the tree, tilted his neck, and said to Powder.

"I can."

"Of course, I can! I'll take you home now."

"After going back, I'm going to sleep well, then I want to listen to Seraphine's music and eat a lot of food."

Powder lifted Linwin with her hands.

Her strength was not small.

She was Vi's younger sister, the strong girl.

Soon, carrying Linwin, Powder stepped onto the Hextech hoverboard.

The two shared one hoverboard, which slowed down the speed a bit.

Swaying, they flew towards Zaun.
