2. Welcome To Arcane Arts Arena!

500 years ago, everything changed when the Gods made their presence known.

The Gods that we were worshipping for thousands of years made their appearance in front of mankind.

You would think it would've been a joyous day for humanity right?

No. That day was anything but joyous.

You see, that day, humanity changed. The world that we knew changed.

Gods didn't come down from the heavens to grant our wishes or end our sufferings.

No, they came down because they needed soldiers to fight a war.

Demon Realm was ascending through dimensions, Gods, who felt threatened by their ascendance, declared war on them.

But if they were to fight themselves then our dimension, which comes in the middle of Hell and Heaven would've been crushed.

Thus, they came down to our dimensions with most of their powers sealed and asked the beings of this dimension to fight against the Demon kind.

But there was a problem.

You see, demons are unaffected by most of the modern-day technology.

They're invincible to the point where anything or anyone without Mana can't even hope to scratch them.

So the Gods gave us a gift.

They gave us mana.

I knitted my eyebrows in a frown over my widened eyes in utter confusion.

"What the fuck is this?" I slightly expressed my unrest.

I had never seen anything like that.

It looked like a holographic VR game interface.

"Is this really a system?" I thought out loud. "But how? I don't have a mana core!"

I could only watch the notification with a stupefied expression on my face.

My eyes only widened further in panic when I saw the next notification that popped up.

{1 problem found!}

{Creating a mana core}

As if waiting for that last notification's cue, a sharp organ-rendering pain pierced my lower abdomen.

"What…? What's happening?" I muttered, but before I could speak anything else, the pain that was slowly flooding me was intensified threefold.

"Arghhhh!!" I cried out as the excruciating pain kept on getting more and more harder to endure with my mouth shut.

{Mana core creation failed}

{Finding the issue…}

___

Shortly after I saw those notifications, the pain that was spreading throughout my lower abdomen subsided and I fell to the ground again.

I felt my whole body drenched in sweat as I lay there panting heavily trying to catch my breath.

"Wha… What's happening? I-Is the system trying to teleport me into AAA? But that c-can't be, I have no mana and you need at least a Black Core to enter AAA…"

Just as I was cerebrating over the situation, I saw yet another notification popping up in my vision.

___

{Issue found!}

{Host doesn't have a Mana to create a core}

{Troubleshooting issue…}

{Creating a Mana Core for the host…}

___

"What?!" I shrieked in shock.

'You can't create a mana core, you're only born with one!' I thought.

High affinity towards the specific elements, the limit to which you can purify your Mana Core, and a personal skill if you're lucky enough to get one, everything is predetermined.

Only Gods can create mana cores.

The Gods that gave it to us in the first place. The Gods who gave us the game.

After granting mana cores to the being of this realm, the gods went back to heaven.

Yes, they kind of abandoned us. Typical of Gods, am I right?

Why are we fighting demons then?

Because if we don't, our realm will be destroyed by demons now that they know we had an alliance with Gods.

But the thing is, if the Gods are gone, then no one can create a mana core.

It's the same logic as no one can create anything out of nothing except the real Gods.

No one can create a tree out of thin air, or regrow a lost arm out of nothing, right?

Yet this system is telling me that it can create a Mana Core for me?!

I couldn't help but build up a little anticipation after reading that last notification.

However, the anticipation I felt soon got replaced by pain. Excruciating pain, even sharper than before.

I felt as if my insides were set on fire.

The pain was so intense that I couldn't even bring myself to scream. My voice felt stuck in my throat.

I convulsed, collapsing to the floor in pain my body quivered as I heard one last notification pop-up sound.

___

{Mana Core creation completed!}

{Logging into Arcane Arts Arena to calculate the user's stats right now.}

___

However, before I could read it, I lost my vision again.

…When I opened my eyes, I felt like I had just woken up from a few weeks' worths of sleep.

The most surprising thing was that I found myself sitting in front of a beautiful black-haired girl, in what looked like a flying castle.

"Welcome to Arcane Arts Arena!"
