38 I Can Help

Powder returned to the basement and saw that Violet was ranting about Vander to Claggor and Mylo.

She walked to Violet's side nervously, "Vi!"

"What's wrong?." Hearing his sister calling her, Violet tried her best to suppress her temper.

"Vander…Vander..."

Violet walked to the couch and crashed down, sighing with her left arm across her forehead.

Powder's little finger pointed out the door, "But…but…"

"What happened? Speak slowly." Claggor asked Powder.

"There were some guys... Vander saw the one in front and looked really different. I've never seen him like that..."

"Tsk, he's always like that when things don't go his…" Violet in disdain.

Before she could finish, she heard a loud cracking of wooden floor shattering from upstairs, as if things had been smashed into pieces.

Immediately afterwards, a series of shrill screams and noises from various tables and chairs reached their ears.

Violet jumped up, "What's going on?!"

"Someone's causing trouble up top..." Claggor listened carefully to the movement above.

Mylo scratched his head, "We've seen trouble, trouble doesn't sound like this."

"Let's go out and have a look. If someone wants trouble, we'll give them trouble."

Violet walked to the door, signaled to Claggor and Mylo, then looked back at his sister, who was eager to join them.

"Powder, you just stay here."

Powder pouted and raised a can-shaped metal device with an animal pattern graffitied on, "Why? My bomb's gonna be useful..."

Claggor on the side interrupted: "Uh... Violet, there's no more movement outside."

"This quick?" Violet raised her eyebrows, ignoring Powder.

As soon as the door was opened slightly, a strong smell of rust in the air rushed into their noses.

As a child who grew up in Zaun, and was injured in fights with others every other day, Violet knew that this was the scent of blood.

A bad premonition.

"Shh, keep your voice down."

Violet made a silent gesture to the three behind her, then squatted down and walked lightly up the stairs to the first floor.

Claggor turned his eyes to Mylo and Powder, telling them to stay where they were, while he followed Vi.

As soon as she peeked out, the first thing she saw were unconscious people and blood everywhere.

Everywhere.

Violet's pupils shrank, she recognized at a glance that these were Vander's crew.

"..." She was speechless in shock.

The commotion lasted only for a few seconds, and the guys were obviously beaten up physically.

Then, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that a guy with a purple body and an inhuman physique dragged a person out of the tavern.

"It's Vander..." Violet murmured, recognizing the person being dragged.

Her eyes were red all of a sudden, and she didn't care about anything else, she clenched her fists and rushed to fight the monster.

"Van...ugh..."

However, before Violet could rush out, Claggor behind her covered her mouth and tried her best to drag her back to the basement room.

"Why did you stop me Claggor!" Vi's tears rolled down from her cheeks. "Vander was taken away!"

"Calm down! That thing beat all the guys, even Vander couldn't win."

Claggor's shouted in a whisper, distressed but obviously calmer than Violet.

After Claggor said this, Violet sat down on the ground feebly, holding her forehead with her hands and sobbing, "I have to save Vander..."

"Vander is also our father." Claggor glanced at Mylo, then patted Vi on the shoulder, "We have going to rescue Vander."

"But we can't do it on our own..." Claggor looked gloomy, "We need the others."

"We can get Benzo, Sevika didn't come tonight, we can call her and her guys too..." Claggor suggested.

"Alright, what are we waiting for? Let's go now!"

With that said, they quickly divided their work.

Mylo is quick and nimble so he's going to follow the people who kidnapped Vander and find out where their base was.

Claggor's going to Benzo's, and Vi's getting Sevika.

On the side, Powder didn't say a word. She ran to her table and put several mines she made on the table into a satchel.

Mylo went out first to avoid losing the trail of the enemy while Violet and Claggor prepared their weapons...

Although it's only a baseball bat, a few screwdrivers and a flare they made.

Just as they were about to go out, Violet saw that Powder was ready and stared at her intently.

Violet Gang's heart slackened all of a sudden, "I need you to sit this one out, Powder."

"What?"

"It's too dangerous."

Powder sniffed and stared at Violet's eyes, "I'm not afraid!"

"This time is different."

"But the families stick together. You said it yourself!"

"I know what I said..."

"I want to fight, I can help!"

"You're not ready."

There's no time to waste, Violet became impatient.

After being yelled at by her sister, tears bursted from her sapphire blue eyes.

Seeing her sister's aggrieved expression, Violet sighed and reached out to caress her cheek.

"You're all I have left. I can't lose you."

With that said, Violet took out the flare from the bag and handed it to Powder, "Here. If they come for you, take this and run. No matter where you are, light it up, and I'll find you, I promise."

She put her forehead to Powder's.

Afterwards, Violet walked to Claggor at the door, looked back and saw the lonely figure of Powder.

With the sound of the door closing, Violet's figure disappeared in front of her.

A grievance that had been suppressed for a long time suddenly surged.

The tears slipped down her cheeks and converged on her chin, falling to the floor drop by drop.

Why… why...

I can help...

Powder sat curled up on the ground, buried her face in her knees, sobbing.

"I can help, I won't screw things up again...even if it's just running… errands…"

"…Running…"

A person appeared in her mind.

"Lilin! he said he's Vander's friend!"
