Catching Up

Geraldine snapped out of her sleep as she shot upright in bed.

When she looked around, it looked like a different room than the one she was in before losing consciousness.

"Where…"

She blinked, trying to make sense of her new environment. Her hand instinctively shot up to her neck where she had been sliced, but to her surprise, the gash was gone. It was completely healed.

However, she still felt the sting of the red corrosive marks that trailed along the right side of her face.

"Where am I?"

She muttered under her breath. But before she could piece anything together, she heard a voice.

"Finally, you're awake. I've been sitting here for quite a while now"

It was the voice of a woman, it had a casual and almost amused tone to it. When she turned her head to the source, she saw her sitting comfortably on a chair near her bed.
