Training With A Sect Elder |1|

With an aggressive gaze, the man scrutinised all the disciples who had gathered in front of him, and he could see that there were between 200 and 250 of them.

Looking at the ocean of disciples who had gathered there, Wang Tao realised by looking at the road leading to their homes that no one was coming up. With an abrupt movement that startled the few disciples in front of him, he crossed his arms on his chest and began to speak:

''Well, seeing that you're all here, let's start with introductions. I am Wang Tao, and I am the 6th Outer Sect Elder.''

''Present juniors greet the esteemed Sect Elder.''

Hearing how all the disciples present, some faster, while others slower greeted him immediately, Wang Tao was pleased, so he continued to speak as he made his way to his left, where a wooden archway led down where one could glimpse a vast open space.

''Perfect, we are now heading to the training grounds of the first mountain of the outer sect, there you will undertake a test that will decide whether you will stay with me or not.''

Every disciple gathered there from the youngest to the oldest, didn't know what they were getting into, but getting into the good graces of a Sect Elder, who were the most influential people in the sect under the sect master. They were ready to do everything.

The disciples when they saw that the Sect Elder who was accompanying them today was on the move, they all followed him like lost ducks, not knowing where they were going, but with a dream in their hearts to become the disciples of a Sect Elder.

Lien Hua, meanwhile, found herself in the middle of the whole sea of disciples. After trying to dodge all the disciples that might be coming at her, she found herself on the left side of the group, where she could see that, not more than a few metres in front of her two people very important to her were walking.

Looking at them with eyes still a little unsure of whether she could talk to them later, she didn't know why but Lin Yue, feeling someone was watching her, turned to where she felt this sensation, with a little shock in her cold eyes she could notice Lien Hua looking at her.

Lin Yue and Lien Hua both looked at each other. Each more unsure than the other. The first one to come out was Lien Hua, who moved her hand to say 'later', she wanted to make Lin Yue understand that she wanted to talk later.

This movement of hers was understood by Lin Yue, who nodded back at her and turned around, looking in front of her again.

In the meantime, Lien Hua seeing that Lin Yue hadn't snubbed her breathed a sigh of relief, and all that pressure on her shoulders from this morning suddenly disappeared. Lien Hua, feeling better straightened her back, looked ahead of her with a more cheerful manner and followed the Sect Elder to the training ground.

As they descended a staircase at the side of the mountain for a few minutes, they could see how the trees were becoming more and more sparse until there were no more, and they could begin to hear high pitched voices some screaming while others were calm. But one thing that could be heard was how blows on wood or flesh could be heard, which made everyone shudder even Lien Hua.

As they got closer and closer to their goal, Lien Hua was a little frightened when she heard the continuous shouts, but she was not terrified. As they went further and further along the path, they finally reached the end of it. In front of her eyes, Lien Hua could see how a vast space appeared.

In this vast, rectangular-shaped open space, one could see many disciples standing ready to train. Some were in front of wooden training dummies. Others were on top of arenas where some disciples were fighting each other. At the same time, other disciples were in front of wooden towers with spikes that moved whenever they were hit.

Wang Tao, however, took it to the right side of everything, there a space devoid of training tools was positioned, only beaten earth. There Wang Tao stopped in front of everyone and turned towards the disciples who had lined up horizontally in front of him.

''Now that we have arrived, we will start training immediately! Listen up everyone; we're going to do five full laps of the training ground, starting now!''

As soon as the disciples heard that they had to start running immediately, some of the disciples reacted faster than the others and started running, without complaining. In contrast, some of the slower ones followed the example of the faster ones, but among them, some were already complaining about the sudden training.

Lien Hua was one of the people who had reacted faster than the others, securing a place among the front runners. Lin Yue and Chen Huang were also among the fastest, but behind Lien Hua, who was only thinking about running and not watching them.

Wang Tao, from the very beginning, looked at those people who complained and immediately eliminated them from the program, so after this day, they could no longer come with him to train, only the strongest and most willing were accepted, the slackers would be immediately kicked out.

Lien Hua seeing that they were still approaching the sect elder, realised that they had just finished the 2nd round and had entered the 3rd. For now, Lien Hua was placed 3rd while Lin Yue was 6th and Chen Huang 9th, Ling Tianni, on the other hand, continued to pass disciples and was 12th giving no signs of fatigue that could start to be noticed in the last two.

As Lien Hua ran faster and faster to catch the people in front of her, she could notice that she was starting to get a little bit tired, but she used a breathing method she had learned in her old life from her personal trainer.

It consisted of inspiring with the nose and exhaling with the mouth, and not just using the mouth as all the disciples were doing now. Using this method, Lien Hua soon noticed that she was not getting as tired as before, and decided to use it in her training, like that Lien Hua picked up speed and moved closer and closer to the person in front of her.

With her heart meanwhile beating at high speed to pump more and more blood into her muscles, Lien Hua finally managed to get behind the disciple in front of her and overtake him at the end of the third lap. Gaining a position and getting closer and closer to the first runner.

The first runner up at the moment from what Lien Hua could see from behind him, had long green hair enclosed in a high ponytail that was waving behind him from the speed at which they were going and was wearing the same uniform as her.

Lien Hua was shocked that a person could have so much stamina and speed together. Even she was starting to get seriously tired at the end of the 4th lap, while the person in front of her continued to run calmly, merely a bit out of breath. ''Monstrous, this person has an absurd talent in his body, the sect elder will definitely take him'' thought Lien Hua as she tried to get closer and closer.

Trying to get closer, Lien Hua arrived right behind him, who increased his pace after noticing her. In the meantime, all the people present could see that the battle for first place was starting to get interesting. The two disciples who were fighting had become trails in the other disciples' eyes, reaching speeds that left everyone present speechless like two lightning bolts twisting together.

Lien Hua, noticing that she had found someone stronger and faster than her, was not demoralised, but with an almost frightening smile of excitement that even she did not notice. Lien Hua began to give it her all, as she had never done before. Finally, she could enjoy herself.

With a fat laugh that made the hairs of the people around her straighten. From Lien Hua's eyes, two small lightning bolts manifested, almost invisible, creating a colourful trail behind her, but her hair disguised it.

Like that Lien Hua and the boy were running at speeds unlikely for the people present. Like that they got closer and closer to the Sect Elder, who was looking at them with a delighted face, as they ran faster and faster, they finally reached the finish line.

Lien Hua, looking at the same person in front of her, was not disappointed that she had lost, she had come second in the end, but was happy to find someone faster and more powerful than she was.
