Arcadia— Heroes Of Relics

Updates every 10:00PM UTC+7 Centuries ago, a mysterious meteor descended upon the Earth. Instead of wiping all life forms on the planet, it terraformed the Earth, transforming both living and non-living things alike. This event was called the Great Meteor Fall. Monsters and Beasts appeared and proliferated on the land, causing a shift to the ordinary lifestyle people once knew. Humans also underwent changes thanks to the meteor. Some were granted supernatural powers, and some were granted strength. With these changes, mankind concluded that life will never be the same. The rise of adventurers and guilds was only a few things brought about by the change. Those who wielded great power became prominent figures. But this was just the beginning. The ground zero of the meteor, where it descended, became the territory of a powerful entity known as the Dark One. No one knew where he came from, but rumors said he was inside the meteor when it landed. The energy levels in ground zero were so potent that an average human wouldn't be able to survive it. As such, only high-ranking adventurers could enter it with great difficulty and survive. However, no one came close to the fortress of the dark One, built on top of the meteor itself. As years passed, the monsters and beasts became more powerful, and the adventurers struggled to keep up. But there was no real threat. The Dark One didn't seem to care for Earth's inhabitants, or maybe he was in deep slumber, awaiting his awakening before he invaded Earth. It was foretold, however, that the Dark One was close to awakening, and the powerful monsters and beasts were a clear sign of it. Backed into a corner, the countries were forced to rely on forbidden technology to combat the upcoming invasion. Messing with the space-time continuum, mankind was able to summon influential and powerful people from the past. They became known as Heroes of Relics. These heroes partied up and became Earth's last line of defense against the oncoming invasion. Albrecht Stein was part of the Heroes of Relics. However, he was kicked out of the party since they no longer needed a porter. His only particular skill was spatial storage space, and he was just an additional headcount, so they kicked him out. Just like the other Heroes, he was transported to the future with the sole purpose of defeating the Dark One. But now that his purpose was gone, he decided to live a quiet life in the countryside. That is until the final countdown was issued, and the world's destruction drew near.

To Raid Or Not To Raid

Thanks to Albrecht's spatial storage space, the clean-up of the goblins were achieved faster than normal. And they didn't have to deal with the sheer size of the Goblin King so it was far easier for them to finish.

Picking up the Goblin King's Pincer Lance, Albrecht started swinging it around without sparing much effort. To his surprise, he could wield the weapon without even activating his skill 'Saddim's Touch'.

Adding to that, the Goblin King's Pincer Lance was unusually lighter than it appeared. It was certainly a good weapon.

While it didn't have any elemental effects or special skills, it was a good weapon to throw around.

With this, he won't have the problem of being questioned since the Goblin King's Pincer Lance is a normal weapon that someone could obtain from the dungeon.

It was totally unlike the Sariel Death Scythe and the Lance of Atlantis. Both are pretty exclusive weapons and people would become suspicious of him if he brought them out too much.

"Can I keep this?" Just to make sure, Albrecht asked if he could keep the Goblin King's Pincer Lance. He didn't want to be disrespectful to the Spiderweb Party since they were the ones who made it possible for him to enter the dungeon in the first place.

"Sure," Hex responded without thinking too much of it. Everyone in the group was aware that Albrecht single-handedly brought down the Goblin King. It would be rude of them to get the Goblin King's Pincer Lance when they didn't contribute to the Goblin King's subjugation.

Of course, even they knew that the weapon was valuable. Goblin Kings are rare enough as it is, but a Goblin King with a weapon is even rarer. Its weapon alone could go for hundreds of Gold Coins in auction markets.

In hindsight, the amount of goblins they subjugated compensated for the value of the Goblin King's Pincer Lance so they weren't complaining.

Albrecht offered to put all the goblin ears they collected inside his spatial storage space. In total, there were five sacks filled with the right ears of goblins.

Just the thought of putting them inside his spatial storage space disgusted Albrecht, but he went through with it anyway.

"That was a job well done. Now let's get out of here and get us a nice meal in the local tavern." Hex grabbed Albrecht by the shoulder. "Dinner's on me. Thank you for helping us with the subjugation. We wouldn't have survived without you."

The rest of the crew nodded their heads. Sylvia specifically flashed a thumbs-up at Albrecht since she was the one who suggested bringing him along with the party.

"It was the work of fate that brought him to our party. Who would've thought that we'd meet a professional porter." Erwin Knighthood commented. "And you're a Bronze Rank to top it all off. With your skills, you can easily climb up to Gold Rank. I'm sure of it."

"He's right, once we get back to the guild, we should sign you up for some tests to update your rank," Natalie suggested. "I'm sure you'll get even more jobs as a porter if you get a higher rank. I've known a lot of porters, but I haven't met a Gold Rank porter in my lifetime."

"Now now, before anything else, we should grab something to eat first. Let's make a quick stop at the guild, get our earnings, and then eat first before we do anything else." Hex told everyone, gesturing with his hand as if to tell them to not be hasty.

Fwooom~!

A strange sound of concrete rubbing against each other resounded in the clearing before they could even step out. It was the looming sound of danger.

Everyone in the party, including Albrecht, felt a chill up and down their spine as they turned their face towards the source of the noise.

On the other end of the clearing, a gap between the concrete opened, and it revealed a huge gate that led to what seemed like a boss room.

"It's the boss room. We weren't informed about this." Hex worriedly uttered.

They have the option of pressing forward or retreating, but Hex didn't think twice about his decision.

"Let's head back. Higher-ranked adventurers should be able to take care of this." Hex announced.

"We're all exhausted, and I don't think we have the capability to defeat the boss. While there's a good chance we'll become rich if we risk it, we might die in the process."

Erwin and the two ladies in the group wanted to look at the boss room but they knew they shouldn't risk it. They respected their party leader's decision and they all headed back to the Zecian Portal.

Once they reached the mouth of the Zecian Portal, they could tell that something was wrong with it. It was swirling faster than normal, and it looked thicker.

"What's going on?" Hex asked. He didn't think too much about the weird Zecian Portal though and he proceeded to walk towards it.

Initially, he assumed that the Zecian Portal would lead to the First Outerlayer right on the outskirts of the Rilegarthe Kingdom.

But before his feet could pass through, he felt an unseen force push him, and he was sent flying backward.

"Leader!" Erwin called out as he rushed to his aid.

Embarrassed, Hex got up before Erwin could offer his hand. "The Zecian Portal is closed off." He announced to everyone with a grim expression on his face.

They'd heard of cases like this where the Zecian Portal was closed off from the outside, and they were knowledgeable enough to know that the scenario meant one thing.

They're currently inside a Double Dungeon, and they were indeterminately trapped in there.

Pretty soon, everyone at the party wore the same grim expression on their face, much to Albrecht's surprise.

"What luck... to think that we've found ourselves in a Double Dungeon." Hex forced a chuckle out of his mouth. "How could this happen?"

How many times are you going to emphasize the fact that it's a Double Dungeon, author? heuheu,

In any case, we're going to proceed with the action next chapter so buckle your seatbelts! Ahhaha,

And to that person who's still harassing me, you do know that webnovel deletes flagrant comments right? You might even get banned, just warning you ^-^

Thank you all so much for reading, I have another chapter coming up so look forward to it! And gimme your power stones now~ hehhe~
