Time...... Space..... Reality...... It's more than a linear path. We start the story of this alternate World on an Earth you might be familiar with but oh so different. The story begins with a young teenage boy who is forced to become an adult soon after the war begins. His parents are taken away from him and he is subjected to horrible experiments. When fate finally decides he has suffered enough, it gives him a way out and a chance for revenge. Chapter 7: Back At Camp

Hey there! I'm back with another chapter and I'm posting it a bit early because I won't be available tomorrow. Before we jump into the story, I want to let you know that it might be a little slow-paced, but I promise it'll be worth it. Also, I realized that I made a mistake in the last chapter by talking about something that everyone already knows. My bad! I'll definitely learn from it and keep things shorter next time. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter as always and I'll catch you guys later! Have a great day!

======================================

Disclaimer: I don't own anything other than my own creations.

General (POV)

Inside the Allies' base in Italy, most soldiers could be seen walking around, some moving things around and others using their time to relax before the next battle. A pair of soldiers were currently guarding the southern entrance, the older of the two was taking it more seriously than the other who was currently stretching and yawning.

S1: "AHHHHhh-hhaaaaa!" Soldier One looks at Soldier Two. "Man, this is so boring. How are you not tired after staying up all night doing nothing but standing there?"

Soldier Two keeps looking forward. S2: "It's like you said, I haven't done anything so why should I be tired?" He then looks at S1. "You may find this boring but this is something I prefer to do compared to being in the frontline where you rarely get a chance to sleep more than 3 hours before you suddenly get woken up by gunfire outside your camp." S2 then continues looking forward. "You might find this boring but for me? War, war never changes and in war, anything can happen."

S1 looks at S2 with questions in his eyes. "What are you talking about? We haven't..." But before he can continue, S2 interrupts him. "SHHHHHH!! Be quiet for a moment!" S2 narrows his eyes and looks toward the forest, getting ready to start shooting whatever comes out. S1 stops and listens to see what S2 heard.

S1 and S2, now on high alert, were waiting anxiously for any signs of danger. Suddenly, S1 heard something in the distance and became very serious. After a minute, they both heard something big moving and a lot of footsteps. To their concern, it was getting closer. The soldiers aimed their guns in the direction of the road that led into the forest. Then, they saw a large tank, which at first they thought was an enemy tank, but it turned out to be a Hydra tank with Allied soldiers on top and behind it.

After seeing some friendly soldiers, S1 and S2 felt a little relieved but they remained cautious, just in case it was a trick. As the Allied soldiers approached, they could see the recently famous hero, Captain America, Following the group in the back. This made them feel completely at ease and they waited until they reached the entrance. However, S2 noticed that the soldiers at the back looked tense and ready to attack whoever was at the center of the formation.

Once they finally arrived S2 asked them. "Where are you guys coming from and how did it go?"

Nick Fury, who was in front of the tank answered. "We are coming back from a last-minute emergency raid on a Hydra base and as you can figure out by the tank, it went well." He said the last part with a smug smile.

Then he said. "Now if you could please step aside, we have to give the Coronel our report on what happened."

After that, S2 nodded and moved aside with S1 to let them pass. S1 was looking with awe at soldiers as they were walking into the camp, then he noticed somebody was tied up in the middle of the back group but just thought it was an enemy commander.

When the soldiers were far enough from the entrance, S1 Told S2. "See, it's more exciting to be in the frontlines than standing here doing nothing. I would love to go fight and come back with stories of victory that I can then use to woo the girls back home."

S2 just looked at S1 and said. "You are only saying that because you haven't seen what they look like in person. If you went to the frontline, instead of the fame and glory you're imagining, you would get stress, nightmares, and trauma that will never leave you for the rest of your life."

Upon hearing S2's statement, S1 remained silent. He wanted to retort that S2 was simply acting like a coward, but the sincerity in S2's eyes led him to believe that he was speaking the truth. In the end, S1 just looked back at the soldiers that were long gone.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

After entering camp, Nick Fury took charge of the team and split them into two groups. One group was sent to deposit the items they had captured from the raid at the armory and logistics tents, while the other group was ordered to guard the prisoners that they had captured. Meanwhile, Nick and Steve went to the central tent to report their findings to Col. Phillips.

When they arrived, Col. Phillips was busy writing letters. Nick spoke first to get Phillips's attention. "Sir, we're back and the raid was a success, though we did encounter something interesting."

That last statement seemed to grab Phillips's attention. "I wonder what you would consider 'Interesting', in a mission that had most of the possible results already thought out?"

This is where Steve buttin and recounts everything that happens until he gets to his fight with the enemy's Super Soldier. "....And then after failing to stop the other people from escaping, I gave it my all to make sure to at least I stoped the young man until help arrived."

That's where Fury let out a chuckle and added. "You mean got you're ass handed to you and we had to step in so he didn't escape."

Fury appeared to find amusement in the situation, but the Coronel's expression remained unchanged upon hearing the news that their top soldier had been effortlessly defeated by the enemy.

So he asked seriously. "That is a big problem, what happened to the enemy and the two that escaped?"

Fury, seeing that it was not the time to joke around said. "After a swift and calculated operation, we were able to apprehend the young man without much difficulty. However, what struck me as peculiar was his sudden change in behavior once we had him surrounded. Despite his previous aggression, he appeared to completely surrender and allowed himself to be restrained without resistance. Throughout the entire journey back to our base, he remained unresponsive and uncommunicative, refusing to comply with any of our requests or engage in any form of conversation. It was as though he had become completely detached from his surroundings, lost in his own thoughts."

After catching his breath, he continued. "Regarding the two individuals who managed to escape, although we did not have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of their faces, we can provide a detailed description of their physical appearance. One of them was a young woman with long, lustrous dark brown hair that cascaded down her back. She appeared to be in her early twenties and stood tall at 5'10 to 6' feet. The other escapee was a behemoth of a man, with short, tousled dirt blond hair and bulging muscles that rippled with every move he made. He looked to be in his late twenties and towered at an imposing 6'10 almost 7' tall. It was evident that both individuals were enhanced humans with extraordinary strength, far beyond what is considered humanly possible."

Once Fury was done talking, Phillips stayed quiet and contemplated everything he just heard. After a few minutes of silence, Phillips said. "I understood most of what happened and I want you two to take me to where the enemy is being held. I want to talk to him, see what I can get out of him personally."

Fury and Steve finished their conversation and walked out of a tent, followed by Phillips. They walked for a few minutes and arrived at a large tent where they found a young man tied up and arguing with 'Dum Dum' Dugan. Everyone around just seemed to be enjoying the show.

Dugan said. "What do you mean?! The Cava Wine is not at all better than the Armagnac Brandy! Armagnac has a greater history and better flavor that Cava can not compare to at all!!"

Only for Uriel to shout back, "Although that's true, Cava is a better drink to have for yourself and company. Now if you don't want to agree there then you at least have to agree that the Spain cocktail Sangria is the greatest cocktail in the world and nothing you American can make will ever surpass it!"

Then Dugan responded. "And how the hell would you know that?! You're a goddamn kid that had just recently stopped using diapers! Have you even had your first beer yet?"

Uriel angrily anwserd. "No, but both my Madre and Pops, who was an American by the way, agree that the Sangria is the best cocktail in the world because of how many different combinations it has and my parents never lied! So, Ha!"

Now with the argument getting more heated, Dugan said. "Then your parents must be morons! They might as well be dead for comparing the greatest man drink like a Brandy to a sissy cocktail like a sangria!"

After saying that with a tired breath, Dugan realized that he had said something terrible to a kid in the heat of the moment. He had accidentally spoken about the kid's parents in a way that suggested they were better off dead. When he looked at the kid, he saw that he had become very quiet and was looking down. When he looked around, he realized that he had made a big mistake, especially when he saw that the people who were laughing earlier were now looking at him disapprovingly.

Right when he was about to apologize to the kid, he suddenly felt a great amount of bloodlust focused on him. When he snapped his head to where it was coming from, he saw the kid looking at him directly in the eyes with the kid's eyes seeming dead of all emotion.

Uriel then said in a voice that although seemed quiet was well-heard by everyone in the tent. "don't you ever say anything about my parents again." Right after he said that, as if to prove his point, Uriel easily ripped off every restraint they had put on him and started walking toward Dugan.

But before he could reach Dugan, he felt a hand grab his shoulder and firmly made sure he didn't go any further. He then turned to the owner of the hand only to see it was Captain America.

When Cap saw he had his attention, he said. "Please calm down. He knows that he said something he shouldn't have and will apologize properly to you, I will make sure of it. All I want you to do is calm down a little and please sit back down. We do not want to fight you again, all we want to do is talk."

Uriel's gaze remained fixed on Cap for what seemed like an eternity. He stood motionless, as if lost in his own thoughts, before finally exhaling a deep breath through his nose. Slowly, he turned away from Cap and returned to his previous position. However, something had changed. His once relaxed expression had been replaced with a neutral one as he began to scan the faces of the other people in the room.

After a moment, he said with no emotion in his voice. "Alright, what do you want?"

Hey, what's up? Glad you made it this far. Like always, let me know what you think about the chapter. Did you enjoy it? Now, catch you guys later!
