Defeat

Ulysses lay on the ground, wheezing, after the spar ended in his defeat. It hadn't gone on for much longer after he earned the first point. He had put his everything into earning that point, and for the rest of the spar, he had nothing to show for it. Honestly, he wasn't surprised that he lost. Rollan had a freakish level of skill. After he shifted to his back foot, there wasn't a single blow Ulysses could land on him.

But in contrast, Rollan used his skills pretty well, hitting Ulysses whenever he made a slight mistake. Mistakes like those would be found by someone like Jason Mao, who was a more aggressive fighter than Rollan, but he hardly had Rollan's finesse in the art.

"That was great," Rollan commented. He was panting too, but not wheezing on the ground like Ulysses. He sheathed the bone sword and hung it on his back, as he probably didn't trust anyone with it. "Maybe we should do more sparring from now on."
