Chapter 54: Complete Break

Ouyang Xue thought about asking Ye Zian for some supplies, or even borrowing if necessary, to help the other students survive. Many of the girls in the dormitory hadn't eaten for several days.

By the time the search team finished clearing out the dormitory rooms, night had fully fallen.

Ye Zian, almost out of spite, pulled out several barbecue grills and a few gas stoves, starting to enjoy grilled meat and hot pot on the rooftop.

The delicious aroma of the food wafted through the entire dormitory building, making Ouyang Xue salivate uncontrollably.

As soon as the sizzling grilled meat was brought to the table, Ouyang Xue tried to maintain her composure. However, as she slowly picked up her chopsticks, Anna quickly snatched a large portion, and Ye Zian did the same, leaving nothing but some leftover sauce in the pan.

That's it?

A hint of regret appeared on Ouyang Xue's face. If only she had acted sooner, she wouldn't have held back.

Lin Qianshan, sitting nearby, recalled the scene from the previous day where she had burned zombies. She suppressed her nausea, silently waiting for the ingredients in the hot pot, as she really couldn't bring herself to eat the grilled meat.

At the staircase, Wei Le'er peeked out, looking at Ye Zian and the others enjoying their feast. She pouted and touched her flat stomach, which had been empty for too long.

"Gurgle."

Her stomach betrayed her with a loud rumble.

Hearing the noise, Ye Zian noticed Wei Le'er hesitating to approach and waved her over, saying, "If you want to eat, come over."

Wei Le'er pointed at herself in disbelief, asking, "Are you calling me?"

She felt a flicker of hope; there was so much food on the table, and she was starving.

Receiving Ye Zian's affirmative response, Wei Le'er quickly hopped over to sit beside Ouyang Xue, picking up her chopsticks to feast without hesitation.

She figured that even if Ye Zian poisoned her, she'd willingly accept it after being so hungry.

The other girls in the dormitory could only watch with envy as Ouyang Xue and Wei Le'er enjoyed their meal on the rooftop, lamenting their own lack of beauty.

With satisfied burps, the two girls felt full for the first time in ages.

"Other members of the search team can stay here. Huizi and Qianshan, come with me for a bit."

Ye Zian planned to take advantage of the night to scout out Su Chen's strength at the cafeteria.

Seeing Ye Zian leave, Ouyang Xue turned to Anna and asked, "Where is he going?"

"You mean the boss?"

Anna, currently gnawing on a large bone, put it down and casually wiped her mouth, replying with a nonchalant expression, "He's probably just going for a post-dinner stroll. Why? Do you want to join him?"

Anna's teasing made both girls' faces turn slightly awkward, especially Wei Le'er, whose ears flushed a shade of red.

Meanwhile, Ye Zian, completely unaware of Anna's teasing, moved stealthily with Lin Qianshan and Huizi to a corner of the cafeteria, where the university's office was located.

Inside, the lights were on, and Ye Zian peered through a corner of the window. A lamp was lit on the desk, and Su Chen sat on a sofa, flanked by two scantily clad women. Around him, about ten different boys were also holding girls in their arms.

"Brother Chen, what should we do next? That fat girl, Li Na, is sending us a few girls every day, but it's not enough for the brothers."

Su Chen appeared gloomy but spoke with confidence, "Don't worry. After tomorrow night, we can organize our men to take over the girls' self-rescue association. By then, we won't lack women."

With that, he reached out to the two girls beside him.

Their expressions changed, but they didn't dare resist Su Chen. If they defied him, there were over a thousand boys outside waiting for them, and their fate was easy to imagine.

"Right, thanks to Brother Chen, we can live so well."

Although they didn't understand why Su Chen wanted to wait until tomorrow, his plans had been foolproof, earning him the trust of those around him.

"By the way, Brother Chen, what about that foreigner? Why not just kill him and be done with it? Keeping him alive is a hassle."

Su Chen pushed aside the two girls next to him and took a big swig from a beer bottle, saying, "That foreigner caused me trouble before the apocalypse. He's too stubborn. If we can't get anything valuable from him, we might as well chop him up and feed him to the zombies."

Outside, Lin Qianshan heard all of Su Chen's recent actions, her anger boiling over. She couldn't believe that Su Chen had become like this.

"Su Chen, are you still human?"

Kicking open the back door, Lin Qianshan stormed into the office, her long sword pointed directly at Su Chen.

"Not good, Lin Qianshan is acting impulsively!"

Ye Zian had no intention of confronting Su Chen directly; after all, Su Chen's luck hadn't run out yet. He feared that an unexpected turn of events could ruin his plans.

Su Chen was shocked to see Lin Qianshan and rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things. He blinked to confirm that Lin Qianshan was indeed standing there. He thought she and her sister had died at home – how could she be here?

"Qianshan?"

But in an instant, his surprise morphed into joy.

"Don't call my name! I'm here to kill you for the innocent girls!"

With that, she swiftly slashed her sword toward Su Chen's arm, leaving a deep gash that exposed bone. Blood dripped onto the floor as Su Chen clutched his bleeding arm in disbelief.

"Qianshan, you..."

Ye Zian, hidden in the shadows, quietly observed the two's confrontation. Unless Lin Qianshan faced an unexpected mishap, he had no plans to intervene.

Before Su Chen could finish his sentence, Lin Qianshan lunged at him again with her sword. Su Chen hastily grabbed a large knife nearby to defend himself against her assault.

As the blade clashed with the sword, Su Chen felt a numbing shock in his hands, his face displaying shock.

How could Lin Qianshan be this strong? He was no match for her!

Disappointment filled Lin Qianshan as she no longer held back, her strikes becoming sharp and relentless, targeting Su Chen's vital points. With one arm bleeding profusely, he struggled to defend himself.

Since it had come to this, there was no need to hold back.
