9 "Mom"
Six months have passed since Emilia and Qin Lu have been reborn. During this few months the two had been busy gathering resources and supplies secretly . Both trying to keep it from the other for the time being.
Qin Lu had amassed a large number of supplies with the money he got off from investment and hacking. When he realised that the course of the world was just the same as his previous life he had used his memory to invest wisely and got enough money to buy materials.
He has gotten all sorts of supplies. From rice, flour, salt, soy, eggs, noodles, biscuits, snacks, blankets, tissue, toiletries, seeds, clothing of all sorts as well as some simple weapons such as metal rods, nails , bats and knifes. Since he didn't have a space all the materials had been kept in a warehouse he had hired until he found a place to keep them.
He knew that this house wasnt safe for them to stay in but getting his mom to move with him somewhere else without raising her suspicion and not making her think his crazy was not any easy task. For all he knew if he told his mom about the apocalypse and the fact that he was reborn she would probably just shrug it off as him having read too much fiction. I mean who would believe a six year old on that sort of stuff.
"Haaa being a kid real has a lot of disadvantages" Qin Lu sighed as he stared at the computer screen were he was watching all sorts of videos on farming.
He had also bought a Hummer and an SUV that he had sent to be modified with the rest of his money.

"Miss Lu what do you think of the final outcome.?"asked the contractor.
"Perfect!" Emilia responded as she looked around at her new house.
Five months ago when the new villas in the outskirts of City S had become available Emilia had almost immediately bought one. She didn't buy one of the ones deeper into the area as she knew that that was were most of the leaders would stay and she didn't want to cause and draw too much attention to herself. The villa she had bought was done with two floors : a kitchen, dinning room, lounge and two rooms on the first floor and then a study gym and three extra rooms on the second floor. The house had a pool in the backyard as well as a large space for gardening.
Emilia was very satisfied with the house for it provided her with space for storage and security.
Though it seemed perfect Emilia didn't believe it was enough so not long after buying the house Emilia had immediately begun reinforcing it. She had gotten a contractor to put in anti-theft windows, ( type were you can't see inside from outside and doesn't shatter easily), and doors( opens with password or fingerprint) throughout the house as well as to make the fencing around the house sturdier and the walls more solid and sound proof.
She had them put in electric fence just to be sure. And since she knew that electricity would go out soon enough solar panels had been laid out on some windows and on the roof. Since she didn't want too much attention she had the men install another layer on the roof that covered the panels to hide them but still allowed sunlight in. The spacing in the basement had been bothering her so she had them expand it a bit more so she could have more space for her supplies. She had also had them turn one of the rooms on the second floor into a greenhouse. Lots if different plants had been planted there already and had begun to sprout. Her planting there had also allowed her to realize that she actually had a green hand*.
All this had taken a full half a year, and after looking at this fotress that looked like a normal modern house Emilia was more than satisfied and happy. How could she not be happy, this was going to be her home for who knows how many years to come .
After paying and sending of the team, Emilia walked around the house one more time before sitting down on the new couch happily.
Ring!Ring!
Looking at her phone and seeing the person calling Emilia couldn't help smiling before picking it up .
"Mom!!" Came Qin Lu's soft voice from the other end.
"Hi baby have you gotten back from school yet." She asked
"Yep I just got back" came a swift reply
"How was school today did you have fun?" Emilia asked. One thing she really hoped was for little Qin to have a lot of fun during this time.
"Nah there was nothing special happening today so it was just a usual day " answered Qin Lu as he gazed at the pictures of him and his mom. "Mom how long are you gonna be gone?"he asked as he looked away.
"I will be gone for one week this time. I have prepared food for the next two days so you can just heat it up and Aunt Linda will come by everyday to cook for you before I come back. Baby are you sure you don't want to stay over at Blake's house while I'm away?" She asked still worried about leaving him alone at home.
"No I'm good. Mom you should take care of yourself there and come back soon." Qin Lu said.
"Okay baby don't worry Mommy will be back before you know it. You just take care of yourself and make sure to eat all your meals alright." Emilia nagged.
"Okay mom I will''
"And make sure to.." Emilia began ,
" Mom don't worry I can take care of myself." Qin Lu immediately cut his mom off when he heard her about to start nagging. He had had to listen to her nag for a whole 45 minutes earlier that day before she left , he definitely did not want to hear that again even though it made him happy knowing she was nagging because she cared for him.
"Ohk you take care of yourself and remember to sleep early." Emilia reminded.
"Will do mom. Bye" Qin Lu answered
"Bye baby Qin."
Emilia stared at the phone even after it was disconnected lost in thoughts . Her thoughts were broken when her phone rang again but this time it was her department manager.
"Hello manager Wang" Emilia greeted first.
"Hi Miss Lu I just wanted to inform you that we will be taking off at 8 am tomorrow morning so you have to be here at least 7:50" he informed in a strict business like tone.
"Ok thank you for your reminder, I'll make sure I'm there on time." She immediately answered when she was sure he was done.
"Alright goodnight!" Mr Wang said as he immediately cut once he was done.
"Ehh goodnight?" Emilia quietly said to the beeping sound.
Emilia went to prepare herself a meal in the kitchen before going upstairs to sleep. She wanted to sleep earlier so that tomorrow she would not have trouble getting up the next day.
While lying on the bed Emilia began to think about Qin Lu. Honestly she does not like the idea of leaving him alone but she knew she had to. Though the company did allow her to bring him with her, she still ended up deciding against it even though she really did not want to.
She knew that this was something she had to have him get used to earlier. Though Emilia wanted Qin Lu to live like a child for the rest of the time he had she also knew that preparing him for it was also what she needed to do. Though she was determined to keep him with her at all times she knew it was impossible. There were going to be times were she had to leave him alone when she left to gather supplies and he would have to live on his own. And taking him with her was something she would definitely not do . Though there would be times she would need to bring him out so he could experience the end she would not bring him always, so getting him ready now was what she had to do.
It would be so much easier if she had someone else there to watch him.
Once that thought came out an image of her parents surfaced. She hadn't seen her family in almost six years now. Though she did regularly call and send gifts, she hadn't been back to see them. She knew they wanted to see her but ever since she had little Qin she had distanced herself from them.
She knew it was wrong and that it was unfair to them who loved her but she couldn't help herself. Her family even now still didn't know that Qin Lu existed. She knew that she would have to tell them soon enough, after all she could not leave them wandering outside in the apocalypse. In her previous life till she died she had not seen them so she was not sure whether they had lived or not. She couldn't have that this time, she was going to set things right and keep them safe this time.
Sighing to herself, Emilia turned her gaze towards the window.
Opening her phone Emilia looked at the picture of her family . After setting her mind right Emilia moved towards her contacts and called the sales manager of the villa area.
"Hi is this Mr Song. Ya this is Miss Lu , right the one who bought house no 5 in Jinya gardens. I would like to buy house no 4 and 7 . Yes I'm serious." Looking at the time and seeing that it was still 5 Emilia decided to get it all done now. " Mr Song is it possible to go through the procedures now, we can meet at 6:30 if your ok with that? Ok Mr Song I'll see you later today. Bye then."
Once she was done Emilia immediately opened her contacts towards her mom's phone number. Clicking on it Emilia held her breath waiting for it to be connected.
Tring! Not even a second later the phone was connected.
"Lia dear.?" Listening to her mom's voice she hadn't heard in 6 years Emilia's eyes teared up and she called out with a shaking voice
"Mom!"
